Battle System
The strength of the Echo granted in the Final Coil of Bahamut has been increased.
The echo will take effect upon entering the Final Coil of Bahamut, increasing players' maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing magic potency by 15%.
* Unlike other instances, the strength of the Echo will not increase upon total party incapacitation.
The Steps of Faith has been adjusted as follows:
Vishap's maximum HP has been reduced.
The maximum HP of all enemies that spawn has been reduced.
Damage dealt by certain enemies has been reduced.
Damage dealt by Vishap's underfoot attack has been reduced.
Damage dealt by Bertha cannons upon exploding has been reduced.
System
The music played when riding the following mounts has been changed:
Sleipnir / Aithon / Xanthos / Gullfaxi / Enbarr / Markab / Boreas
wow each ponies have their own BGM? like pony from Titan get Titan's BGM? :)
As happy as I am that the primal mounts will get their respective themes, because now I actually want to farm Ramuh Extreme, the Steps nerf is... overkill. Along with Pharos and Thornmarch HM, I'm sure it'll be a total joke now.

:o I didn't realize Sleipnir is included in their "primal horse" list, I mean.. It is.. but I suppose I just didn't connect them mentally due to how you get him.
I guess that means they will probably intend to make him fly too, since they said primal mounts will fly.
*grumble*
And they still haven't addressed the issue of only being able to default to "wait" on controller.
Yes I'm angry! They've had 5 months to work on it!! This is becoming extremely unacceptable!
Now I want my beastmen camp music to play when I summon my beastman mount, and then my mount roulette shuffle mix will be complete! >:D

I don't get all the hate about the nerf to steps of fate.
people complained about everyone leaving the instance- so a nerf was needed to stop that
and 2nd you need to pass steps of faith to enter 3.0 so of course they are going to make it as accessible as possible- I was surprised they left it at its normal difficulty for so long.
So all the QQers get to have a weaker form of the SoF...now watch them QQ massively when the first instances in Heavensward are at the level of the original SoF setup. You only hurt yourselves when you do this people.
Unless it was accidental wording, "Ahriman and Bomb mount (from Kobolds) as well as primal horses will all fly. First one to fly will be Kirin.". Source.
Kirin will be the first, but all primal horses will at some point fly (although "first" was phrased with a question mark lol). Sleipnir would technically be a primal horse.
Another totally useless patch...that they consider is worth a .01 increase...

step of faith is not difficult, but the trouble is people ignoring what they have to do.... most of the melee dps refuse to do the cannon or focus the boss when you still have add up... without forget the tank that don't group the add below the boss for allows the cannon to dps the boss+add.
the fight wasn't hard... simply people didn't want to play differently.
To be fair you shouldn't have to attack the adds as DPS in this fight. Cannons should pretty much kill them off, and the current ones go away with the destruction of each barrier. Now just not wanting to do cannons isn't a good call (though ideally the OT and a healer should be on it, can't always have that.)
Steps of Faith in carebear mode. How dandy of SE. Score one for the QQ crowd; they got what they wanted. Thank god I cleared it on the first day via DF. No surprise on the Echo increase for FCoB. Primal songs for primal horses is nice though I'm surprised that Sleipnir made the list. I'm sure it will have the Odin theme when we ride on them.
Meh, Steps of Faith nerfs... too damn bad, at least the ponies music change is awesome.
If my Sleipner has Odin's theme, I'm gonna ride around the shroud more.

So... because its main story, and effectively the "final boss" before the expansion, its not supposed to be difficult? I can't quite grasp the logic here. Maybe I'm the only one, but I love struggling against bosses because the moment you actually beat them, it makes the accomplishment that much more rewarding.
I remember those days, where a bad DPS could prevent completion of AK, with decent barely getting you past him and good on up making him easy. Back when skill mattered greatly, back when players actually learned how to play the game instead of QQ for nerfs about everything.
to be honest for steps I kinda expected something like echo so we could all remove it if we wanted and still get the fight as it was. little dissapointed
I don't understand why people think:
"Main Story must remain face roll easy."
People were complaining about Steps of Faith like it was Turn 9 of Coil...it's no where close to that, hell its easier that the first binding coils of bahamut.
Its a shame that people were unable to get a clear, I agree that Vishap might've had a bit too much HP for an i90 requirement, but nerfing everything is a bit silly. The adds were already weak enough, now they are going to have less HP? Oh lawdie...I hope by this SE doesn't pre-nerf / scale down future Heavensward content.
For existing ones, maybe. But I am not so cheery when it comes on making a new character and I need go through ALL of the pre-expansion MSQ content again in order to reach the new stuff.
If SE is throwing me a bone along the way with balance changes, then I gladly will accept them.
Ha, remember back when people thought CM and Prae were too hard? SE never nerfed those, and now they're so massively easy due to the increased item levels that nobody would dare mention nerfs to them. SoF would have become the same way after Heavensward gets released, due to mobs being able to get burned down easier from the higher ilvls, allowing everybody to focus on Vishap and his mechanics.
It's funny that I beat the coil story 4 months ago, but still haven't gotten off my ass to do steps cuz it's probably not even a challenge. Oh, well. All I wanted out of this damn patch was a poetics uncap for my alts, but I guess that's not gonna happen before 3.0.
