Did happen to someone else? My guess were when last member leaves, instance being cleared.
But not, my "in progress" DF take me to an empty map with all mobs at start kissing me. Quite wrong. Reported as bug but wonder if this is intended...

Once your duty pops, it remains open until you enter/withdraw it, even if people leave it while your 45 seconds are ticking down or you are loading inside. You simply had a bad luck and all people left it while you were commencing the duty.
Solution is to not queue in progress for trial roulette, SoF happens so often because that's what people leave the most out of all trials.
well.. people HATE this fight XD
Me too! I will never ever do this again. o,.o;
I'm really not sure why people hate this fight as much as they do. if tanks follow the correct strategy, this trial is generally easier than almost any extreme primal is.
Speaking from the perspective of someone with over 30 clears of it, Steps of faith is cake. I would rather do steps, than even Garuda EX.Quote:
Tank takes big adds, holds them at the entrance, as far away from boss as possible.
3 dps focus on boss, 1 healer and 1 dps on cannons, other healer on the tanks.
dps on cannon gets DK, healer gets both snares with sprint.
I love this fight even if it becomes a wipefest. BGM is almost price of admission and really puts my positional skills as a monk to the test.
i like this fight reminds of the last fight on monster hunter, where you have to stop lao shan from breaking the last line of defense with a wall of spears, i hope to see more like this instead of tank and spank bosses
This fight might be considered "easy" by some, and maybe it is. But I think most people could agree that it's not made for the DF. When I get it for Trial Roulette, most of the time I just leave and take my penalty. At times I stay and try to help. This has never worked out. If you want to clear this, you need to get some friends together so you can keep trying until you win. A group of strangers thrown together (for what they are expecting is a 5 min commitment via trial roulette) is not likely to be successful. This particular fight (and some others, for that matter) should not be considered a trial and doesn't belong in Trial Roulette.
I honestly think SE knows this, and that it doesn't really belong in Trials roulette, but I think they put it in there just because they also know it is the only way they could ever get anyone to do this fight again after doing it for the story clear and they know EVERYONE needs it to enter Ishgard. *conspiracy theory*
I understand their desperate move, but I don't think it's working well anyway. People just abandon when they get it. I, for one, have never cleared Steps during a roulette. And I've tried. People are simply going to need friends to complete this. Nothing wrong with that. It's a throwback to XI
Even though I've only gone into this fight once for the story, I enjoyed it. Sure there is a lot of chaos and communication is key but it is still doable. If you die you just respawn and sprint back to the battle and continue where you left off at while adjusting to hopefully not repeat what you did that got you killed. If I didn't have other things I'm trying to accomplish before the expansion I'd queue for it more to help others complete the story.
If only ppl played monster hunter, these kind of fights wouldn't be hard lol. Though it kinda sucked u could actually fail the quest if ur dps was too high thus stun locking him forever = possibly running out of time before getting to the last area where he becomes killable lol.
Steps of faith should be renamed
Steps of pain.
When vishap steps on u it hurts and it hurts over all when party can't do mechanics.
Its doable, as long as everyone listens and knows what to do...and dont speak for all casuals because Ive beaten it.
This has happened to me in in progress dungeons before.
Having done this a couple of time and only successfully running it once, I have never heard or read of this strategy. I like the concept of the battle, one of the more intense battles for sure. I'll have to give this strategy a try next time I run it.
Honestly, I'd still do this fight over TitanEx... Just my opinion though.
I did Steps the first day for my clear, I've done it successfully once as a Trial Roulette, and I've had it fail as a Trial Roulette about 14+ times.
People don't listen, and people go in blind. People who just want to do their roulette, get really frustrated after the first two wipes and will leave. Not to mention that even just attempting it twice takes 20 minutes (not including all the arguing between pulls).
When I did my run of this I joined a group in progress as a tank and was asked to man one of the guns. I died once I think because too many adds got to me before I could burn them down with the cannon and I didn't see the first snare (fortunately the other gunner got to it in time). despite all of this chaos and learning on the fly we still cleared it. I look forward to going back through it again eventually.
Please... Caduceus was way easier then this. Tank picks up after the split and stay off glowey floor. This is 2 people having to do cannons and the snares, 1 person to hit the DK, the tanks gotta pick up adds and bring them to the front, which seems like the hard part. Every attempt i did the adds were running around like crazy and wrecking me and the dps.

I see you haven't even entered SCOB, much less cleared T9. You may want to consider your position on SoF being as hard as Coil bosses.
there people making this harder than what its needs to be, if the dps stays ahead of the dragon the whole fight while the tank tanks adds under the dragons belly the add will die from the aoe spear when it hits.
That is the "we overgear the fight so much that the stacking damage buff isn't a problem" strategy. The actual strategy for Caduceus is this:
1. All but slime kiting DpS stay off glowing floors.
2. MT positions Caduceus somewhere that he can easily avoid standing on glowing floors.
3. When a slime spawns the kiter dpses the slime down before feeding it to Caduceus in order to decrease the damage buff.
4. When Caduceus splits, OT takes the clone and one of the tanks pulls his Caduceus across the battlefield in order to avoid the snakes merging back together.
5. Rest of the the party splits up into 2 4 man parties and now 2 dps are feeding slimes.
6. Parties try to kill the snakes as close to the same time as possible.
Next time you enter an empty duty (whether it be Steps of Faith or a dungeon), kindly click the Vote Abandon button instead of leaving. It will put up a Vote Abandon vote but since you're the only one who's voting, it's guaranteed to pass.
When I'm leveling up a dps class, this happens to me all the time in dungeons. Wait 30+ minutes only to get into an empty dungeon. I stopped doing in-progress all together for that reason, as dps at least.
When I join any instance in progress and I'm the only one there, I choose "Vote Abandon" just to fully close out that particular session. This keeps me from getting happy knowing I got an insta-queue as DPS lol
Uhh, it's pretty far from being the only way. Ever heard of loot, perhaps minion drops?Quote:
