So it seems that based on submissions from the previous one, it looks as if having a voiceover/dub is acceptable, as well as laying over text and basic artwork over the video. Would this be fine?

I'm considering having our FC's logo persistently over the video, and having some basic narration for our recruitment like a commercial.

Hi Teppie,

Your understanding is correct. Just like the previous recruitment contest, you're free to edit the video with personal voice-overs, text overlays, and Final Fantasy XIV-related artworks.

Can images and/or music from the FFXIV Heavensward benchmark be used in this contest?

Look at all those 0s on each forum created, suppose no ones really interested in Recruiting via video?

Well it does take a lot of time to get an idea, get your group together and coordinated, then edit the final footage. It's only been a couple days, I'm pumped and excited but gotta plan this out first.

Question: If there's anything in my video that doesn't meet the criteria of this contest, will I be notified? I'd hate to have spent days on this and something disqualifies the video, or something needs to be added.

Question 2:

The other contest allows you to choose one of three necklaces, and it's only a screenshot. This one requires quite a bit more work and time and energy. Would the judges consider possibly allowing us to choose which bracelet the Free Company can have? (Honestly I think I would never wear the Mandragora choker and the Ahriman choker looks significantly better for all of the new jobs coming.)

Typically, we don't go through and confirm entries until it comes time to vote. We would prefer that users read over the rules and follow the instructions closely. As an aside, we would urge you to double check the rules and see if you're missing something...

Also, it looks like we're not allowed to edit our posts on these threads as we can in other threads. I was going to use the identical alphabetical listing but it won't let me change it.

Are we allowed to use music featured in 1.0/the OST disks, that hasn't yet found their way into 2.0?

I would suspect you could use in-game cutscenes, but the video is for FC advertisement, unless the whole FC is in the cutscene with you?

Well the idea is to use snippets from a couple cutscenes that would include FC members. To my understanding at least, if you're in a party and view a cutscene that would include a party (Coil of Bahamut cutscenes for example) the party appears in the cutscene.

So I have a quick question about this. When you say ffxiv related artwork is this official artwork or is fanart allowed? I was wondering if for introductions to my freecompany members if I can do artwork drawn by myself or my sis instead of actual ingame models?

Can screenshots be included?

Those Battle Tracks are all good, that OST is in the list with the other OSTs :). I just used tracks from the ARR OST ^^.

That's partially correct. You can only use music listed on the FFXIV Material Usage License Agreement. I went through the trouble of making a complete list of the tracks we are allowed to use, you can find it here. If the track is not on that list, we are not allowed to use it in our videos. Additionally, we are not allowed to use "Answers" or "Dragonsong."

Introduction and goals for Heavensward:

Zero Division is a multifaceted roleplaying FC on the Balmung Server. We are a paramilitary/military contractor group that works with artifacts, technology, science, and engineering.

We have both social and action roleplay events. From storming Garlean bases to relaxing fishing trips, there is never a lack of roleplay.

Out of character, we enjoy multiple aspects of the game - PvE, Crafting, PvP and more. We focus on a positive and encouraging environment to create an enjoyable experience.

We are planning on looking towards the skies with Heavensward. Our first goal is to get airships, both in character and out of character. We plan on learning content together, leveling together, and exploring the new lands.

Finally submitted mine, here's hoping that I didn't mess up something or another. So paranoid I overlooked something in the submission rules.

I know how you feel. When I did the dub contest, I missed a lot of mistakes. Didn't put any of the information I needed in it. Still I watched your video, and it looked great. I spent days before I put my Free Company video up, just hoping I didn't forget anything. (it helps that this time I didn't wait till the deadline). Good luck, and nice video.

I really normally wait until last minute to do these things, I'm so grateful I managed to get over that tendency and really buckle down and get it done with time to spare.

I really wanted to enter, but I got owned last minute by the forum software. Did you know that selecting your main character is done with the tiny star symbol next to the portrait, instead of clicking the bar that highlights your character? I should have probably tried to figure that out at least like 15m before the deadline 8)...

Actually changing the character used to post works retroactively, so for future reference you can post then change character and it'll update properly.
