Casters have been nerfed way too much. Buff them back and nerf bards.

ANYTHING that hits you interrupts you as a caster, unless you have a healer that keeps you adloq'd or stoneskin'd.
Which... doesnt happen very often with DF randoms.

Sometimes it ends up that i have to scathe spam only, because all PvP skills are on cooldown and i can't cast anything at all without being spammed with arrows from god knows where.

Swiftcast damage is halved. This is a very big handicap, even more so due to the kinda long swiftcast cooldown.
Surecast goes down the moment you start casting, and you can still be interrupted mid-cast, wasting this skill.

People will run through you or get out of range, and your cast will say INTERRUPTED only after you finish the cast. This is even more aggravating when you are experiencing lag.

Bards, on the other hand, must be nerfed ASAP.
They are way too overpowered against casters, healers and melee DPS.
They have way too many DPS increase buffs from PvE, which should all be nerfed for PvP just like all caster stuff is severely nerfed on PvP.

Bards can also instant recover 20-30% of max HP with the PvP skill Recouperate, and can also recover even more HP with Second Wind, while out of melee and casting range, but still attacking and interrupting everything you try to cast (unless it's Scathe or Bio).

Recouperate should not be able to be used by bards at all. Leave that to melee only since melee have to deal with way more risk than bards, who can be far away attacking and healing themselves.

Ok, I am just probably a bad bard, because the only class I can kill in 1 v 1 is BLM and most probably a healer. Other classes just fork me up.

Good casters and good bards are a gigantic threat, bad casters and bad bards are generally a non-issue and in some cases you can literally ignore a bad bard

There are a gigantic amount of casters that just try to blindly attack things and then complain when they wasted their oGCDs and are being interrupted, they dont understand the concept of setting themselves up to allow freecasting.

Bards dont normally have the luxury of building vitality without losing damage, a blackmage can build vitality which allows them to still kick out a staggering amount of damage and be extremely tanky at the same time

It varies by instance, mainly because of how many other people you have around you. In 4v4, BLM is horrid to play, quickly built up resistance to bind and sleep, easy to get picked off. Secure is a little better, but once a melee/brd has their sights on you it's annoy and run away time. Slaughter casting is not an issue because there are so many people packed together in a small space that nobody can single you out and shut you down.

Whilst BLMs may have some potent AOEs to justify their difficulty in casting anything, SMNs most certainly don't yet still live with all the problems BLMs have. SMNs also have zero crowd control outside of Tri-Disaster (which gets broken by someone else the moment you cast it anyway) which leaves them with little means of actually securing any breathing room for safe casting. Couple that with the severe and entirely unjustified nerfs to pet damage and the removal of the slow debuff from their miasmas and SMNs are wet noodles in PvP outside of their Fester spike every 20s or so (and good look killing anyone with that spike when they can see it coming a mile off by the stacks of DOTS piling on them).

Something DOES need to be done about casters in PvP. SE made a kneejerk reaction to BLMs being OP when frontlines first released and they haven't properly addressed PvP balance at all since then. For one thing, the auto-interrupt from physical hits on casters HAS to go. Every physical job has a stun or silence of some kind to deal with casters. They do NOT need to have every hit be a guaranteed interrupt on top of that.

Up to me the problem with counterbalace was the difference between 4vs4 and Frontline.
SMN are one of the best class with a low amount of people or probably the best one for 1vs1 even as caster, so they nerfed him for 4vs4 adjusting miasma, but I think it was due cause of Miasma II, that could slower an entire party, and in pvp it is obviously over powered, but I think that they should leave the full Disease effect to Miasma.

By the way SMN are not a bad class, you don't kill with your DoTs, but bursting your enemy with Fester + Energy drain + ruin II and even PvP skill Pet all together, or atlest this is how I get kills :/

The interrupt rate for a blm is certainly op, it should perhaps still exist but with a much lower proc rate.

By sorting this out this would rectify the issue casters face (garuda/brd), there's nothing you can do to brd short of nerfing its dmg or adding gcd interrupt to its attacks. It should be left alone.

That being said scathe = DMG of a melee attack pretty much

A lot of the problems can be sorted by working together, brd sat there interrupting your healer? Mark 1 and all DPS burn them down

I'm not a caster main, but i like playing BLM as a secondary/tertiary job.

Also, I don't really like nor fit in this casual vs hardcore labels...

But since you are being kinda blunt and labeling people, I'd like to point out that by looking at your lodestone profile and seeing that you are a "Poetic Princess"...
Without even any high allagan casting accessory... while still having a few lv110 soldiery pieces that are not BiS....
I'm quite sure I know who is the casual here, if we have to label people...

First time I went into slaughter 72 man as a Black Mage, I was on PS3, I was a murderous monster and it was awesome, even while not seeing hardly anything at all because PS3 doesn't like loading anything. I don't see a need for a caster buff at all...

Casters are high risk high reward. They are not spearheads. I murder the shit out of a carefully and patiently chosen target then retreat at the first sign of trouble. Thats how you need to play caster.

They are just fine. You need a good party too.
