So about that collectors edition for Heavnsward

Was there a update on the price being lower for the CE because of Square Enix is cutting corners or have they stayed quiet about it?

And what exactly leads you to believe it will be lowered anytime soon? In the future yes as most xpacs go down in price eventually, but why in the coming weeks?

I've never really understood why people buy things like collector editions. You still get the same game as the regular game, except you get a few in game bonuses that usually don't amount to much. I mean, I guess if you are a "collector" then it makes sense, but still though.... :P

I can't speak for others, but the main selling point for me is the included Fantasia potion. Barring some fantasia price reduction, I'm either going to be paying (with discounts) 40 for the standard and fantasia combined, or 45 for the CE, so I don't really mind the 5 dollar difference for a mount/minion/helm that I may or may not use in the future. I understand the lure of the physical CE as well and if I had gotten more use out of my ARR CE, and if I weren't funneling every dime into a computer build, I'd be trying to justify that purchase as well.

Don't quote me but if there is a digital CE I imagine that will be substantially less since all you're getting are the game-oriented things. No physical collector's items like artbooks, statues, soundtracks etc

It was pointed out that they change our version compare to that un boxing video. If you are going to cut corners you should lower the price.

So...what exactly did they change about it? Since you didn't even mention about the video till now, nor put it up.

its mostly just packaging differences. NA box is different and the paper back sleeve we get for the trailers dvd disc is pretty tacky. Like I said if you are going to cut corners at least change the price a little.

The whole "we going to give you all the trailers in glorious HD" is kind of tacky by itself regardless of the case it comes in.

Wait.. what's this about a CE change?

Ah.. I see. Well.. I doubt there'll be a change in price, but I am disappointed that the disc is a sleeve only and not something really collectible.
