Commendations in frontlines

Do you ever give these out and why, post your stories ^^

Personally these are my favourite to get over pve content, plenty of times i try to give them out but everyone leaves too fast xD

Recently got 6 in 1 run when I was running as whm (only levelled this for PvP), it was a 24 slaughter match not 1 of us died despite constant melee and blm lbs

I tend to give mine out to those that either take charge of marking targets out and leading a group, impressive dps or those that actually have a brain and protect healers when under attack

I give them out to polite people, but generally i dont commend because people should be queueing for wolves den instead of this joke of a gametype >:]

Ppl prolly leave quickly to ensure a spot so the next que pop faster lol
But I've been sticking around lately cuz I'm getting close to 1500 comms XD

I pretty much always commend a healer in the group if they don't neglect their responsibilities altogether (like casting weak DPS spells vs Esuna/Leeches as team members stay slept/bound). It takes a bad healer to not commend, like a healer that leaves me slept for 20s in the beginning to a fully upgraded Nightwing while they cast less important spells.

It's funny you ask this because last night I joined a 24 man Slaughter via Roulette where there were no healers, and so I offered to swap to SCH since no one else wanted to. Respent all my AP's. A WHM joined and I realized during battle they were doing really well and I didn't recognize them so they were prob newer to PvP. I mentioned in the fight even they were one of the better PVP healers I'd seen in awhile after I'd seen how quickly they unslept me each time. We won the game despite the DPS's not getting many nodes pretty much by denying the other teams all but a really small number of kills,we were able to bring people back with PVP res in most cases. Won the game, got 1 commendation, hoped the other healer got the rest... saw they were from my server and spoke with them after to recruit for my LS. Ended up asking how many commendations they got cause I had a suspicion, and I was right, the answer was 1 which was from me. So none of the DPS's we's frantically kept alive so they could play they role they chose thought it was worth the trouble.

So yeah all I can say is screw you Twin Adder ingrates, I've swapped DPS-> Healer for a PUG team in Slaughter for the last time cause this is far from the first match like this. I would rather watch a team die off one by one from now on than take on the hardest job for them, get none of the achievement points related to kills, and wind up with like no commendations for it even if we come in first, what more do you expect from us in a Slaughter match of all things.

I always give a comm in either frontlines or wolves den as long as I remember and people haven't left yet.

Gotta get that parade chocobo somehow... you get a lot more during solo queue wolves den events because games pop quickly and don't last 15 mins like frontlines.

I just saw the parade chocobo mount and it's the Fat Chocobo (which I already have) with the Soverign Barding hat. Have to look close to even see the difference. I guess they grind up all 3000 comms into Chocobo food, and that's how you get Fat Chocobo. Not what I was expecting.

It's hard to give them since people leave very quickly in order to get back into a match ASAP, lol.

I stopped giving them out,might sound selfish to say but,i feel there have been times i deserved comms and never gotten one just because i'm dps so,why would i bother.
(seems a lot of players just automatically commend healer because they haven't really got a clue who was performing well other than scoreboard,which takes precious time to check...ironically i'm guilty of that myself on occasion)

I always give them to healers because I tried healing in PvP a few times and it bore me a lot, I also believe it is the hardest thing to do in PvP.
Shame that no one bothers to give me a commendation even when I have over 110K DPS and 10 kills on BRD -_- I feel so underappreciated.

Healing can be fun if you make it fun. Have you ever took the time to scout enemies near the ramp? So many chances to Aura Blast/Fluid Aura people off. It's hilarious. I still remember the day I got 5 kills off one Aura Blast. <3

What I like about healing in PVP is that you're working to counter the efforts of an entire team... when I'm on DPS I'm usually battling a small number of players/objectives at a time... but when I'm on Scholar, it's like I'm playing chess against 6 different people at once and when you can outplay them all and render their best efforts moot, it's very satisfying. Like last night in my Slaughter match I helped win where only the other healer and I commended each other... I survived a melee LB from a dragoonand and went in Attunement while he futilely tried to wipe out my remaining 10% HP... I marked him for the team to target while he poked me with a nerf spear, and he died vs me. Plus 1 kill for us, +0 kills for them, -100% for their DRG's LB bar. I didn't get the kill shot myself on healer, but nevertheless I outplayed the other team there even if the only person who realizes it is me.

It is a lot harder to notice what people do sometimes that's for sure compared to pve content, I do enjoy healing most of the times although a few sour moments. Q as ninja, no healer present no one will switch so I go whm. Alls going well apart from this one monk who decides he can solo a whole team, I get myself in range (leaving me vulnerable) pop some cures he then shoulder tackles out of range whilst at 50‰ HP then proceeds to call me a shit healer.

I often go with tank and i only "feel fear" the other teams dps and protect the zone so dps could gain points killing the spots or if any dps or even tank go throuth "our" territory i expulse it or kill if enemy don't come back. If sometimes the enemie team attacks me in masse 10 seconds of invulnerability and cause the most problems as i can to not let them go near healers and our own dps, usually won and i have one or two comendations.

I suppose if you're a gambler and its past the 5(?) minute mark you could say- well looks like this party isn't big enough for both of us, either he goes, or I go. And then you vote dismiss him for harassment and if it fails, quit and let the party see the value you had provided with no healer on board. Haven't done that yet but it's a tantalizing thought.

I usually give commandation to Good healer that can keep a ( Sucidal Melee ) like me alive, and let me run WILD..!

aaaand for Tanks that help me finish off a target aaaand for casters that know when / who to LB.

Yep i tend to leave early as a match finish, because before that i would be mashing my controler buttons hitting a target , so by the end i hit leave by accident before giving commendation to someone :<

There are lots of nice things a healer can do when he's free such as Bind melees and weight marked healers / high/fevered dps.

I'd say it's rather easy to get commendation as healer unless you totally fuck up, even because it's kinda hard to keep everyone alive if you play with wandering dps (know what i mean? xD). Infact the problem is often with dps wandering around far from healing range, or runnning behind pillars, chasing others without looking at their hp. You often get the blame when dps split and you can't heal them all.

Healers don't do miracles, dps job is killing and scoring yes, but also staying alive, and watch their own hp, ensure they are in healing range and run when they are focused.

I also only play WHM in pvp and i give my commendation mostly to useful tanks/healers. If both arent the case then i give it to the best dps. In general, i really enjoy to play WHM in slaughter. I think as healer you can contribute the most to a frontlines match. Last night we won a game in 24 man slaughter and i had the most kills (4) in my group as WHM.

i heard that commendation make que so fast ;p

I am a healer when it comes to pvp, so I actually commend people who get battle highs and can stay alive (though usually people who are good enough to get highs are smart to know when to hide). Otherwise I'll commend exceptional people (leaders, or just overall smart players). I am pretty critical of other healers though - if they don't try to wake me first when I'm slept, they aren't getting my commend.

Healers get my commend just for being healers.

<3 For not making me have to heal.

Full party, no healers, check search info, 4+ party members have 50 WHM/SCH, at 30 seconds b4 start I'll bite the bullet n switch, start redistributing my APs for healer class, get heckled about not SS2ing and Protecting while doing so...

Yeah well I usually give Commendation to friends I know they play well OR in exceptional cases, to someone who really did something who caught my attention ( lol PLD covering me in a difficult situation for example )

I just commend Twiss, Waltar and anyone from my server ;)
