Do you think it's actually worse to get Battle High and Battle Fever in Slaughter?

In 24man Slaughter, I actually think it's worse to get these bonuses because you just become a huge bounty mark from both teams. Those extra pts from slaying a High/Fever mark can make the other teams get a huge lead over you.

In 72man, I'm not sure... It's not as bad as 24man but when you get Fever (8 kill+) I think you have to play super safe since if you are caught, it's basically a freebie 10 ish pts for the team who kills you (which might be really bad if you give it to the 1st/2nd place team). I think keeping Battle High in this mode is fine, but Fever might be risky.

Just want to know your thoughts on this.

Depends on what class you are. As a BLM, keeping battle fever is pretty easy by doing what I normally do: shooting fire at people and running away when someone attacks me. The only real threat is getting hit by melee LB, but their are still a number of ways to counter that. I've gotten numerous records where I had battle fever with no deaths, so no, I can't say that getting battle fever is worse for me in slaughter. But then again, I'm a BLM and it isn't too difficult to play BLM in slaughter.

If you're melee however, it might be a bit more difficult given the nature of the map in slaughter mode.

I'm main as a monk so I always die every time I get battle high because I'm such a big easy target. Never once I got a Battle Fever =(. Maybe I should activate my Fist of Earth for a change when i get battle high because the buff gives you more damage dealt anyway.

You need to have healers that know to focus fevers/highs. Anyone who isn't should NOT be getting heals if there are fevers/highs around aside from AoE.

Yeah Garu beat me to it, this is one of the areas in which how good (or negligent) a healer is can make or break a team in Slaughter mode. If I'm going as Scholar and someone in the Alliance has this Battle High/Fever, even outside my party, I'm keeping stoneskin/galvanize up on them so they have that added survivability. And it's frustrating as hell to be the one with Battle Fever getting slept or otherwise cc'd while your Scholar is busy casting Miasma, I've been there too.

Getting Battle High/Fever in either 24/72 is painting a target on your head. It just comes down to you having competent healers or not to keep you up and moving. Just when you get High/Fever, you need to play even more strategically and cautious if you're a Melee. BLM, it's easier to go ham from a distance.

Heals are nice to have, but I've learned to not expect heals in frontlines. It's not that I'm underestimating my team's healers, it's more the principle of preparing for the worst case scenario. If you play like you're never getting heals then you'll make sure to minimize the damage you take. I go into frontlines not expecting to get heals, but if I can get heals then that's great.

I once get Battle High as SCH, and what I do just... spam Adlo to myself (and Succor other member ofc) and hiding on safe distance.

Healers r suppose to save everyone yet no one wants to save the healer because they r too focused on sniping kills.
Ur getting bashed on for 10 secs+ and no one goes oh hey healer is in trouble lol.

Anyone with fever automatically becomes my #1 target. Killing someone with fever for points late in the game is a must, either to catch up or extend your lead.

That's why Dragoon or Monk are the best for ganking black mages with it. A fetter ward + stun + LB is guaranteed. The only counters to that are adlo/stoneskin or more than 4000 hp at the time you are LB'd

Yeah, I usually dump a good amount of attribute points into vitality for pvp which raises my hp to a little over 4.4k. Or I can just equip vitality accessories. Either works. But I can't trade too much INT for VIT because then my damage output suffers.

For me it is, every time I get fever as a BRD, I get instantly focused by 500 enemies. :D
