Why do we need to pay tax to use bazaar?

Why do I need to pay 10% tax to sell something in the middle of nowhere?
In ffxi we only pay tax if we sell something inside the city.
( And pay more if we want to sell something in Jeuno and thanks to that
we have black market outside Jeuno ;) )

So am I the only one who hate to pay 10% tax to sell something in the middle of nowhere?

the gill has to be drained out of the economy someplace.

It's to light the roads at night and to keep the aetherytes glowing <.<

i would really like to see that the tax we pay are used for something, like improve the life of a city.

Griss gets a +1 because he nailed it. In order for a closed economy to not have hyper-inflation is to destroy gil in some way.

Only way to do that is tax on bazaars and repair npc, and synthesis support. Oh and to some lesser extent, favored camps.

You do know that as soon I notice that I need to pay 10% I start to raise my price?
( I add 15%~ = if I want sell something for 2k = 2220 gil )

Their system is backwards, though. Since it's harder to sell items through your personal bazaar, it should also be cheaper when compared to Market Wards.

Indeed which is why they sit there unsold and people walk right by to the market ward where they can search all bazaars and buy it for 2k. I can't remember the last time I sold something in my bazaar. Probably a few months ago when I put a hedgemole needle +2 up for 1 gil.

While your argument makes logical sense, I'm glad it's not this way. I don't want another rolanberry fields bazaarathon.
