What does XIV bring to future Final Fantasies?

As the title suggests.

What abilities/features/enemies in this game will pass on to the next?

Full Thrust is already in the FFXV demo when you equip one of the spears.

Hallowed Ground is kinda new but in past FF games you get a similar effect when you use a Hero, so I'm not sure if it's original enough to see it in the future, who knows.

Maybe we'll see Holmgang and Dragon Kick in the future.

Also is the Avatar an XIV original? If it is that's definitely something we'll see in another game.

Side quests that are somehow central to the main story and side bosses that are weaker than the final story boss.

Dragon Kick has existed in FF for awhile now, it's one of the Monk's signatures back as early as FF IV 0.o

Hallowed Ground was in FFXI but it was known as 'Invincible', it was PLD's '2 hour ability'. But it basically had the same effect.

Really, the thing I want the rest of SE to take away from FFXIV ARR's development for future games in the series is what Yoshi-P learned, don't patronize the players and just think flashy graphics and the name alone will sell a FF game. It won't. Tanaka learned that the hard way with the whole 1.0 debacle.

Chocobo Racing originated from VII. X's version was kinda meh. XIV is modeled from VII. Never played past the beginning of XIII ... that game just ... no.

FFXIV is more like a consumer than a producer. We only take stuffs from other FFs and barely give anything back to them.

Isn't Ravana new? Could see that one as a Summon/enemy/whatever.

Forgetting the XI chocobo racing too O: Though never had much control over that one, other than equipping the chocobo and raising it to boost it's stats.

I think this game will end up bringing new jobs and such, plus crafting is highly original so we might see systems like that implemented. I'm sure ffxiv does have quite a bit to add. It's been mainly fanservice but as the game expands it will become more and more original.

Isn't the Striking Tree in ff15 where Ramuh is obtained?

Also, it was said that ff14 could end up being the trendsetter for future ff games back when someone asked why Ragnarok was an axe.

Well in FF15 (from what we know) you can gather ingredients and make you own food with varying effects, kinda like CUL

It's imported from Vagrant Story. Though one may argue it's new to the Final Fantasy series, as VS was never officially confirmed as taking place in Ivalice iirc

There's plenty of possibilities, especially given that FFXIV uses a watered-down clone of SE's next gen graphics engine, Luminous Studio. Mechanics can be transferred to future games, and FFXIV itself could be upgraded as SE develops Luminous in their future FF installments.

This is one of the small issues I have with this game, We get so many requests for things from "this final fantasy" to be put into XIV and while it's nice to have references and some creatures/abilities/characters from other FF games for nostalgic reasons I'd like XIV to have it's own identity as well, which so far it doesn't really. Hate to bring up FFXI but it was very much it's own FF regardless of being an mmo, I'd like XIV to go in the same direction as well.

FYI full thrust was a dragoon weapon skill in ffxi, along with dragon kick, impulse drive, dancing edge, aeolian edge and a dozen other ones.

Ravana is the obvious 'new' thing that can be rehashed later.

Some of the beast men tribes are new to the franchise. Ixal, kobolds, sylphs etc.

It is the same ability. It's called the same in Japanese. Similarly, "Defiance" is Defender.

its been in 7, 8, 10, 11, and 14.

New stuff that is in XIV only:

Ixal, Kobold, Am'ja beastmen. Ravana (new to FF series), Hildebrand, some of the monster sprites are newly designed (and better than previous iterations), Scions/Ascians (names maybe not but their cult is new)...prolly some more just cant think of anything else.

It's not an incarnation of Omega, especially since Omega itself is mentioned in one of the cutscenes that its apparently somewhere in the Carteneau Flats.

Another thing, there is a distinct difference between Omega, and Omega Weapon

This has actually been around for a while.

The last Final Fantasy MMO had several types of monsters become new series regulars (Mandragoras and Goobues are what spring to mind), I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Snurbles appear in future games.
