This is why I love Raubahn and Sultana Nanamo... [SPOILERS]

Two of my favorite characters, one dies, and one's made to go bat-shit crazy and start publically executing people (as much as that evil little sh*t deserved to kick the bucket, there were definitely better ways to do it).

Well, you have to understand where they were coming from before those moments.

One was talking about reforming government and the other was an ex gladiator (not the class, the profession). To say that they were doomed is an understatement. It was inevitable what was going to happen, it was just a matter of when the shadows would move against them and how many more pokes the bull could take before snapping.

Honestly I feel kind of bad for people who chose Ul'dah/Immortal Flames.

I would be pretty pissed off if someone assassinated Kan-E after all.

I'm ok with it and I chose Ul'dah and Immortal Flames. I like Nanamo and Raubahn; it sucks that she was killed, but I'm really excited to see where Raubahn's story goes in the expansion. He is definitely the most interesting of the 3 city-state leaders to me.

I started off at Ul'dah to use a sword for my character and joined the Immortal Flames (I like fire and Raubahn is a cool dude) and when Nanamo mention meeting under the Sultana Tree it hit the feels for me how she acknowledged our first meeting like that, making that scene extra special to my character (honestly I wanted Y'shtola as the initial Scion to meet, but Thancred's grown on me), and I knew what was going to happen and thought the item we got earlier was an antidote for what she was going to drink to save her.

I could see how people would react if someone did that to Kan-E or Merlwyb if they started with them first.

Do not worry,
we of the Immortal Flames have already planned the freeing of our General. Also we located the captured sultana (was quit obvius that the poisoning is fake) and we will free here as soon as our troops are ready (around 3.0-3.1).

(But seriously that is probably what will happen)

Honestly, if I wasn't THE Warrior of Light, I'd have been standing there with the rest of the Crystal Braves... but that's just me.

If I was the Warrior of Light, I would have fought off guards and killed off those two evil shit Tarufels myself...

I think the ascians are controlling people again and making them do things. That "evil expression" just didn't seem natural to me that those bad guys made.

Just a reminder

-Tataru random depression since ~2.3 wanting to get stronger/find a purpose
-Nanamo finding herself powerless since 2.3-2.4
-Tataru actions on 2.55
-Random Tataru dialogue saying she wanted to find a final ingredient to finish a tonic
-Tataru always moving around
-Nanamo and Tataru were never seen together even during the banquet (Tataru was on mordhona markets)
-Nanamo likes to sneak out of her castle (lady lilira)
-Urianger gave Tataru a disguise spell in case imperials attacked again
-Escape tunnel is inside Nanamo room (where she died) and yet no reaction from the scions. While Teledji just arrested the player and went to the banquet, doubt he'd bother to discard the body during a coup.
-Teledji/Lolorito objective is to seize Carteneau flats and excavate omega weapon, that's why they wanted to topple the monarchy and yet lolorito is displeased for something (doubt is due the warrior of light escaping since the servant says "everything went as planned").

While only theorycrafting, nanamo is most likely still alive. Either with tataru working with nanamo or tataru being nanamo in disguise, it's not like it would be hard to pull off since both scion HQs were in thanalan area (mor dhona is really just outside n thana aether and the disguise spell would make sneaking past the imperial base easy). Though, it might just be storyline plot holes.

That would be a really cool Story :)

Regarding 2.55

An interesting thought to consider is that regardless of whether or not she is alive it won't change the fate of her position. Either way she will be out of a position of power so it does come down to whether she'll have a hand in assisting with it or if her death will set back her cause.

The Tataru/Sultana speculation is quite interesting since I hadn't considered that but it is true how those lalafell's did have parallels to one another both seeing themselves as to weak, the need to be stronger, though I don't think I'd go as far as to say Tataru is actually the Sultana, that would be odd, even though it is true that people of royalty do tend to have doppelganger's that are pretty much scapegoats to protect the lineage, so if she had speculated her life was in danger she may have had one of her doubles sacrifice themselves for the sake of Ul'dah since it really isn't out of the question since it is something that did occur in history.

If her eyes had just rolled back and she passed out, I'd buy it.
But she was clinging at her throat as she stumbled and fell down, indicating a poison that affects respiration. Given no one in the room aside from us had any reason to treat her or report what had happened, she's dead.
The only way she could be alive is if the theorycrafting is true and she switched places with Tataru, in which case Tataru is dead.

So you're saying Nanamo choose to fake her poisoning, allowing not only the Warrior of Light but the Scions to be arrested and/or killed, (To say nothing of Raubahn's predictable reaction) without saying anything about it before hand, or even just popping up when Taladji showed up to cause trouble? That doesn't seem much like her.

She may have survived, but if she did, it wasn't of her own doing.

I can understand her faking her death via "poisoning" after she abdicates the throne and sets a republic (to escape from monetarist assassins) but it makes no sense for her to do it before

they have way too many difference for be the same.

other point, i sincerly doubt they will have put this into the trailer of heavenward for rick rolls us with:" no she wasn't dead". even if she was alive and i say if.... her part into the story is over. even if she come back, she will do nothing good to the story. she was about to put down the sultana and create a new system where she will had no power. even if she come back, she will have no power and will have no role into the story.

the best outcome i can see it's raubahn, becoming the new leader of Ul'dah after we free him.... even if i'm worried that he will fall into darkness after this, and believe me if he is freed, some lalafell will die.
Nanamo, even if i adore her, is sadly dead and will probably never come back. it give deepth to the story.... it make the danger of the darkness and the chaos more important. because even if we are the heros, we can't save everybody. we need to accept this, because, it's the sad reality. it will make our decision and action have more weight...

and i already see the time where Ul'dah learn the death of Nanamo... we risk to have one of the more sad CS with her funeral and the people crying her loose.

other point extremely important, it make the bad guys of Ul'dah more evi ,we all want to get our hand on them and punish them...

Might be because if you did you would of looked like a huge traitor to uldah, granted non of the main npcs would hate you, but all of uldah would of heard what a badass you were and post a bounty or something.

I think we're missing a distinct potential other possibility here.

That is to say, what if its not the sultana who "faked" her death, but Lolorito instead.

I mean, the other lalafel Teledji(?) was a putz. Obviously evil and had it out for the sultana. Thusly he was put down quick and easy like. However, Lolorito turned out to be the actual mastermind behind the whole ordeal, even though Teledji was obviously hindering Lolorito as well.

What if Lolo's plan involves faking the sultana's death in order to spring Teledji's plan. Thereby provoking Raubahn into killing him. This removes 2 "troublesome" members of the syndicate in one fell swoop. Not to mention leaving the sultana to the mercy of whatever he has planned.

From there we can assume that another possible reason the public isn't informed of the assassination (they're told she is sick) is that maybe he actually plans for her to reappear... to take up her position again. Though this time perhaps as a true puppet. Maybe via ascian possesion or some form of brainwashing or even an imposter i suppose.

This would also give him aLOT more jurisdiction over Omega incidentally enough... which just so happens to have a role in the xpac.

(also can you imagine how tripped up Raubahn might be if Nanamo appeared again... only on the sydicates side)
