Average SMN DPS with this gearset?

Just got the SMN Magitek Book today (I know, gross), and there is a noticeable increase of DPS over the HA Book, but I'm only hitting 481 dps on a static dummy with it.

A few pieces are obvious meant for my BLM. Thing is, my BLM with it's 130 piece was 30 higher than this lol.

Also, no talking about how SMN is flawed and no spitting about stupid, pointless opinions on what you'd like to see done to the class that you've already shouted 30 times over.

Exactly where you're at, then. My SMN was i110 and then got its dreadwyrm book and went from 450 DPS to 480 DPS.. my monks' upgrade was 100 DPS...

Summoner Scaling is all kinds of fucked up.

Book smacking (30min+ afk) was 28.0X with i130 Magitek book and partial bis, 30.1X for zeta (or was it dreadwyrm.......) with bis , last time I checked my current dps on dummy is 520 (or bit higher don't remember).

So your 480 sounds legit, could probably be bit higher.

Looks about right.

SMN gear scaling and pet scaling are way different.

Ifrit benefits most from INT and Det both of which you are low on.

Since you are missing 20 int and about 90 Det he is probably only doing 164 DPS vs 195. So there is 30 DPS right there.

But yeah. SMN scales more with gear stats than MD anyways.

OH, I should note that I was using Garuda instead of Ifrit. I haven't learned of an appropriate ifrit opener, so I stuck to what I know.

Use garuda to extend fully buffed DOTS + PPP (if you wish) then switch out ifrit especially if there is a WAR in the party.

Ifrit benefits from all stats par SS than Garuda.

Ifrit dummy opener is easy.

Place Ifrit on the other side of the dummy so you wont look away when using pet buffs.

Shadow Flare - near the end of the cast start your auto attack.

RS - B Rouse/Spur, M, B2, R2, Fester, Enkindle, R2, R2, B, Fester

Then SC shadow flare when ready etc.

The hardest part at first is using crimson and flaming crush without forgetting your dots.

Start with Garuda, expand dots, use swift cast and change to ifrit.

And here is rotation in details :
- Start with Garuda at close range so ifrit won't have to move after summon.
- Cast the 3 dots finishing by BIO. During the GCD of BIO, use a Toxic Potion, then MIASMA 2 just after GDC ready again.
- Now expand dots with Garuda, this works on MIASMA 2 and Toxic Potion too. Continue Ruin cast because Garuda often takes time to expand dots.
=> swift cast and sumon ifrit and let it strikes as usual.

At this point, spam RUIN 2, still beeing close range.
After 1st ruin2, use a buff on ifrit, after 2nd ruin2, use the other buff on ifrit, after 3rd ruin2, use Enkidle.

I think this is the best Rotation start.
then you have 2 choices :
- Spam RUIN 2 at close range to use Book auto hit, but it has high mana cost. Someone has tested and has won about 20/30 dps by using ruin2 + auto hit.
- go back at good range and spam ruin 1 as usual.

Hmm, my Summoner can usually get 530-550 in a 3 minutes parse(Pot+Party buff). What does the rest of your gear look like ?

This is the rotation I currently use on Garuda... is it flawed?

RS > Bio 2 > Miasma > Bio > Fester > Miasma 2 > Contagion + Swiftcast > Shadow Flare > Ruin 2 > Spur > Ruin 2 > Rouse > Fester > Ruin 2 > Enkindle > Ruin > Ruin > Ruin 2 > Fester

Its basically i110, lol. Just saying what the difference was from Nexus > Dread for me.
