I am kinda curious why they chose Balmung, I just exped my THM alt class to 15 in W Thanalan on Ragnarok and I haven't met any. :D
yep, it happens pretty often after maints, since balmung is closed 99% of the time they have to make a ton of them very quickly in the short window its open
Yeah, they're making characters when the window is open en masse. Makes it easier to ruin their operation when SE banns them in the next wave, but you always know when an opening in Balmung's Character Creator has happened by the massive appearance of RMT bots.
Need a GM Machinist to hang out in Scorpions Crossing and just headshot them as they leave town one at a time ><
Wait, how do we know they're not roleplayers acting the role of bots?
Sadly I saw this a lot, more recently too as I was raising an alt so I was going through the areas again. Back when I first ran my main, there wasn't much. Now in my alt, I see at least 3-4 standing at every dungeon. And found a few with their "instant teleporting". Managed to "telly block" 2 or 3 of them when they activated their normal teleport during a quest to go to limsa by constantly trading them then they stop moving. Then they go ask and they Really there for hours later when I checked on them lol
The bots have actually gotten really crazy and kind of weird. I see them all the time in the shroud, well "see" is a strong word, I watch monsters run to a spot where players are attacking them from under the ground, then get hit by 20 attacks at once. That's not even to mention the ones dinging 29 in areas like Urth's Fount. (Mobs are 45+ there)
Well the good news is that nearly all bots are easy to manipulate. I was taking advantage of RMT bots that were farming the Aldgoats before, back during 2.0. A lot of them are programmed to detect a claimed mob, so that it won't attack it, but I'd say all of them are set to defend itself regardless. So I would just park myself on bots and claim targets just before the bot does its attack, so that I claim, bot attacks because it can't react in a split second. Bot does its normal detect, untargets the mob that it just hit because I claimed, attempts to find another target until it gets hit... proceeds to attack my claimed mob. Rinse and repeat. It's like being power-leveled.
