Is it just me or... Dissidia Y'shtola looks nothing like FF14 Y'shtola?
I mean... She freaks me out... She's a freaky twig cat lady with scary eyes! D:
Gameplay wise she looks bad ass, the eyes are freaky though
That remix is really nice ^.^, but that Y'shtola.... /shudders is kinda creepy and definitely not our Y'shtola.
If she can use Attunement I'm going to fanboy all over the floor.
Was that suppose to be Gridania? They need to copy-pasta the terrain a little more to get that true 1.0 Gridania feel.
The difference is primarily due to the design team. Also, hilariously, Y'shtola is apparently a World Boss equivalent given that FATE theme choice :P
Remember kitties: If you make Y'shtola mad, she's equivalent to trying to fight Lazy Larry or Cancer...
Her ears look a bit weird.
Ew. Can't say I like the character design choices they made.
Gameplay looks pretty fun though.
Now the only thing left is to wait for the Gameplay trailer for Ramza (Final Fantasy Tactics MC) and the full character list of the game since it was mentioned the list will be very large.
From the rumors it is said the cast list is around 50 playable characters so with all 34 characters returning with Y'shtola and Ramza confirmed as new characters there is still around 14 more new characters yet to be revealed.
Word is that it's coming to PS4. Here's another trailer, with more Y'shtola.
...I'll admit, as a long time dissidia fan I'm all kinds of hyped.
All the characters do look a little more...narrow...than their game counterparts.
Which when you consider the complaints about Miqo'te butts, is really saying something.
Kind of odd that the PS4 version looks better than the Arcade version. For years it was the other way around for consoles vs. arcades...
Yes, I'm aware it's likely because they're being forced to use older hardware in the arcades.
Anyone else notice that she has our same exact frantic sprinting animation when you have a weapon drawn? Pretty cool little detail.
sweet jebus thats what whm combat should be!
Any ideas on what the ARR battlefield will be?
-Ul'dah?
-Gridania?
-Limsa?
-Ishgard?
-Rev Toll?
I cannot believe that this is game for PS4, thought that it was for tablets or something (because of the graphics).
EDIT: AH, now I see that it is both for arcade and PS4.
And that is how she saved eorzea single handed.
Atta girl :)
Now go solo bahamut plz and thnk you.
Sadly, this one won't be connected to the dissidia timeline and is generally considered a reboot.
I'm not so happy with it tbh, I mean. I'm pleased that the chances are very high that it will be coming out on ps4 eventually (Apparently the machines for play are modified ps4s) and the only weak point of the two games were that online play was a no. With PS4 it should very much be possible, but it looks like Team Fabulous are missing and logically, there can't be so much storyline in it because of that.
What made Dissidia a good franchise in it's own right was that it technically was a very good fighting game -- but there was it's own storyline. And it was a really, really inventive and good one -- and the surprise of that storyline also performing as an updated FF1 storyline was some seriously good storytelling (made even cuter because it's release coincided with FF's 25th anniversary - but that's sentimentality talking.)
I'm also really skeptical over "reboot", as well as the fact they've outsourced the game because the creators wanted to work on theatrhythm instead -- something that requires way less time and thought than Dissidia. I know Team Ninja are fantastic, but Dissidia's gameplay wasn't a weak point. To outsource to a company and development team which aren't known for having any depth or complexity in their games -- just generic tournament battles -- is super-offputting. Even more offputting, to me personally, unsure about anyone else, is if storyline is a no, we won't get to see the amazing conversations Y'shtola and WoL could have.
