They should program it so that every once in a great while your characters just trips and falls while running, ragdoll physics included.
Imagine running down the stairs in Ul'dah and just wiping out, rolling at the bottom, and then getting up and continuing on like nothing ever happened.

this would be great, i remember in ffxi my taru couldn't go up the huge staircases in some caves and assaults unless u climb up it the right way, the stairs were to big, while everyone else just ran up them, the taru needed to work there way up it using the lowest part of the stairs, this was very funny.
your idea would be great, and i can picture people betting gils on who falls first and just running up and down stairs all day lol. -

Spinning off from this idea, wouldn't it be cool if different races had different environmental advantages or disadvantages? Like maybe Roes can climb big cliffs that shorter races have to walk around. Miqote could run faster. Lalafell could get less agro. I dunno about the others... But something like that would be cool.

Do you mean like on Super Mario Bros. 2? Luigi jumps really high, Toad picks up plants really fast and Peach can hover. I'm not meaning our characters should hover though. =)
