Information on the battle system for Heavensward set for May's Live letter?

Now this makes me curious, what could they talk about that pertaining the battle system, why would they even mention it? It's not like we knew about it this whole time, unless they are having big changes to the battle system. Will the GCD go away? What new things will they add to the battle system that would make it more unique and better?

Idk they just put this there in red out of no where, just screams big changes for the battle system.

That's only my take though.

I know that there's changes to skill and spell speed coming, other than that I'm thinking just class changes.

They have also been very vague on how the mechanics of the new classes are used exactly. We know the DK uses magic as a means to dps and manage threat but no specifics on skills. Same with Astro, and Machinist.

It will be about LB3, stats changes and new skills I guess.

It'll probably be something trivial like the lore behind the new limit breaks, or it'll be a story about why they adopted this battle system for ARR and nothing at all related to HW.

I doubt they're doing any drastic overhauls as those rarely work out well based on past experience in other MMOs. Expansions are usually the ideal time to roll out significant system adjustments though. We already know that skill speed/spell speed are being changed so I think it may be safe to assume there will be other significant adjustments along the same lines. We will also likely see some major rebalancing of some of the jobs to incorporate the new job skills as well.

The biggest thing will likely be the individual Job LB3. Though there is speculation that there will be a reworking of some sub stats like parry, skill speed and spell speed. Nothing that huge. They may even show some of the new skills from Heavensward. Either way, I'm sure it will be interesting to note.

I doubt it'll be anything huge. Something like removing the GCD won't happen.

A while ago now didnt Yoshi-P say, in an interview, that he was looking at making changes to the armory system? Something about classes and either making them relevant or changing how the weapon part of the system works? It was a little vague but showed that they are at least looking at things like that. I agree with most of the others posting that it will be about tweaks to things like dragoon, LB3 system but I really hope they will also talk about adding in a personal adrenaline gauge for solo play. just a single bar LB that does damage to the mob you are facing.It would be great for those FATE's you end up trying to take down by yourself. I'm also hoping it might have something about special stats on gear that is aimed at a particular class: Butchers Block Enmity +9. At this stage of the game, overall changes will not be drastic game changing tweaks. If there is anything big it will be something that ends up being picked up within the heavensward areas to increase your character between level 50-60.

Also, what about more info regarding the FC summoning system? Please?!?

I'm hoping for stat tweaks to make the bad stats (most notably skill/spell speed and parry) better. Could probably include some tidbits about class changes (new abilities, old ability balancing) which would be nice. I also hope they do a mini patch a few weeks before the expansion with the battle system changes so we can learn the new stuff before the expansion itself (much like what Blizzard has done with WoW expansion).

I expect some pretty decent changes to happen. As they are reworking Smn/Sch and giving new abilities and traits to all classes. Sure many tweaks will happen to.

Why does SCH need a rework?
You mean the separate attributes?

Yoshi-P has basically said that he's not married to the current armory system, and he hinted at changes. Will be interesting to see what's announced.

We've never had any confirmation of a rework of SMN or SCH; this has only ever been fan speculation based on comments from Yoshi. The only thing we know to be coming for SMN is a new skill that will change the way they handle MP management as Yoshi revealed that in response to the recent MP issues the job has been suffering from. SCH is arguably in a very good place at the moment though so any further changes to SMN need to be done in a way that won't impact SCH... which is where the speculation on the jobs being split came from, especially given Yoshi's other comments regarding planned changes to the armoury system.

At the very least, we should see some new Egi's from the expansion. I just hope they are as adorable as the ones we already have. I can picture Ramuh being a cloud like beard that shoots lightning.

Speaking of lightning, didnt they say something about a rework of the BLM to make it a more varied job by changing how thunder works?

Well as they said it was the only double job in game and it was not a good idea in the first place (as i said) Why would u not expect them to separate them? I know most stuff is not 100% till it comes out and even they things can change after it placed in game. Would just feel odd leaving them as is in game. But we will see soon.
