Bard Stat Caps

Hi All,

I have searched and found references to but never definitive numbers so I thought I would ask here. Does anyone know what the caps are for stats on lvl 50 Bards?

Stat caps? If you're talking about stat caps on crafted gear just look at the max points on i110 gear. If you're talking about how high any specific stat can go? as far as I know theres no such thing.

Was not aware of a stat cap o3o besides crafting

Are you asking like. If I have 600 Crit but only 560 Would count because 560 is Cap?

Or are you asking for a minimum like needing a minimum accuracy to hit things?

Sorry, this is what I am after. Most games have a "soft" and "hard" cap and then there is that balanced number you strive to get at to ensure you are not wasting points.

For example, the BIS site here: http://www.ffxivguild.com/ffxiv-bard...me-gear-guide/ mentioned accuracy caps.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ahhh. Well even thought it mentions an accuracy cap. There ISNT an accuracy cap. Its more along of the line that you need that amount of accuracy to hit a certain mob. For example we say accuracy cap for turn 5 is 475 accuracy. That just means you need a a minimum of 475 to hit the boss. But however yes, if you do have more than the "minimum" than those extra points are possibly to waste. So if turn 5 requires 475 accuracy and you have 500, those extra 25 points couldve been put into crit or det. Like me, there are some people who rely on accuracy food to meet the cap thus having more points into other stats. For example I have 585 crit but 517 accuracy, turn 13 requires 535 for flank, I just use the food lava toad legs to get me up to 535 accuracy. When it comes to crit and det though, its kind hard to tell IMO because we arent really given a hard % crit rate or hard % increase in damage from det (though people have done some math that a certain amout of det/crit = a number of main stat). We are just encouraged to have as much crit and det as possible while still having the minimum accuracy to the things we want to hit. There are those who value crit more than det and vice versa.

No caps, it may look like there are soft caps because you dont see that good of a return for having more points but I can't really say. If i were to go by my standard as a BRD, have atleast 530+ crit and 300+ det with accuracy at 535 for the current content.

Accuracy caps at 100%, so anything beyond that point is wasted. It varies by encounter, but you will almost always be at/near cap until you start to try top content.

Weapon damage is the biggest damage factor by far, higher ilvl of weapons leads to higher weapon damage. Next is DEX, dungeon gear and HQ crafted gear of the same ilvl will have the same DEX. After those you want crit hit, then determination, and way down the list is skill speed.

One last question: Where did you find out the accuracy needed to hit for the different turns? Is there a list somewhere or am I missing it in-game?

It's tested in instances by people not missing at specific accuracy totals. Your best bet is finding a collection of data online. Here's one site with coils listed: http://www.ffxivguild.com/ff14-endga...accuracy-caps/

The way I keep track of my accuracy is by filtering out damage in my main chat log, but keeping missed attacks in. This lets me see when a mob is invulnerable to attack, I flat out miss, or when a status effect gets resisted.

There isn't really an official list irrc. some of the values were determined by players doing trial and error when the turns first came out. If you must know though, Its 475 for Turn 5, 515 for Turn 9 and 535 for Turn 13. I forgot to mention though these numbers are probably for the DPS. I believe these are for flank (right or left side of the boss) position, I mean generally most dps are either going to behind or to the side of the boss anyway. Tanks tends to need more accuracy than others because they are attacking from the front. But im assuming you are a BRD so use those numbers i mentioned.

To build on that tanks also need accuracy because they are combo dependent, and missing the first or second swing is a huge hate loss, and can throw you off quite a bit early in a fight.

Dps take different hits from losing their combos/rotations, BRD probably takes the smallest hit from not being capped on accuracy in the dps world.

There's just softcaps. The only hardcap in this game is Critical Hit Rating, which limits at 100% (obviously)
