I was playing on it fine up to last night when I went to bed. Gives me an error every time I try to launch it on PS4 saying connection to server unavailable. Also have reset router, powered ps4 off and on multiple times, tried wifi connection, etc.
Have done test internet on multiple times (connected via ethernet) and always checks with no issues. Additionally, my pc version of the game works fine.
PSN is up and running as well as all other content on ps4 works.
I'm having this same issue! West Coast, USA Everything working fine but when logging into FFXIV it shows the Updater/Launcher version and then beeps to error ( CE-34861-2 ) . Can play other games using PSN....unfortunately
This is happening to me as well. I have tested my connection, reset the router, restarted the PS4, everything.
"The connection to the server has been lost.
There might have been a problem in connecting to the network, or PlaStaionNetworks or the service provider might be temporarily busy.

is the error message that still pops up.
I'm also experiencing the same issue. Tried everything you did as well but keep getting the server not responding error.

I'm getting this issue as well (east coast, USA). Was working fine this morning but am still getting that same error message. PSN is working fine.
Same issue for me. Restarted both the PS4 and my router, checked PSN status and tried the PS Store to see if I could connect to that and all was fine. Access to XIV was perfect until today's update.
I would try reinstalling the game but can't re-download it since I upgraded from PS3.

Is it just subscription-based games like FFXIV? I can launch other games without problems.
At least they know the issue than just brushing it away.

Ya it's the PS network. Fix this shit already didn't you (PSN) learn your lesson from the Christmas crash.... I'm getting the error message in other games as well like olliolli2
