Huge problems with questing

Hey, I reached lvl. 17 and have no main quest to do at all (I played on the trail version, but i bought the game, if that changes anything). The Only thing I have left is a quest for level 20(To Catch a Poacher) which is 3 levels from where I am. Do i really have to do fate quests to level up?

- I also found out that I`m suppose to get an airship licens, which i never got.

What is that last main quest you did? The first level 17 main story quest is Into a Copper Hell, which unlocks Copperbell Mines and is available from Momodi at the Quicksand in Ul'Dah.

If you can't travel by airship yet then you are lagging in your quest's. I think it was around a level 15 main story quest that would unlock them. Check you journal and see what was you last main quest done, and go from there

The, main story line keeps going and going, If anything you should have no problems leveling. I got to 28 without super quick and still am loaded with quests. The main story line starts forcing you to dungeon, so make sure it's not waiting for you to do one. After the first dungeon it starts to make you leave from where you first started at. Which sounds like Gridania. You should be on the road by popping around city to city. Just a heads up when you do travel to a new city don't do the low lvl quests, leave them for your other classes. There not worth your time at your level.

the airship pass is a MSQ gate; if you've not done it yet, you need to asap. 2-3 quests after that will take you into 3 different dungeons. Also, Quest Hubs unlock, so to speak, by MSQ progression.

If you don't have your airship license you lost track of your main scenario. Go back to Gridania to the pub/inn and see if she has anything for you if not there then bentbranch meadows.

Go to the "Completed" tab of your quest log, and compare the Main Scenario Quests listed there to this wiki list. (There are tabs at the top of the list for each main city. Make sure you're on the "Gridania" tab, though I think that's the default anyway, as the first one listed.) The second to last quest listed there, The Gridanian Envoy, is the one that gives you airship access, so if you don't have that yet, then you must still be somewhere in this section of the Main Scenario. Figure out which of these you have and haven't done, and it should point you to where you need to pick up the next one.

You kinda have to do a mix of everything to level up or just grind dungeons if you're really impatient. You're not meant to just level through quests (considering you can only do them on one class) so you should be doing dungeons, FATEs, and your hunting logs whenever you can.

Hey guys, back from easter vacation. So I`m apperently done with a quest called "To Guard a Guardian". I dont really understand what I have to do next, so yeah... I`m also level 20, so i failed on that one as well.

Nevermind, I found out have to deal with the main quest, thx for help guys :)

If you just did "To Guard a Guardian" you're waaaaaaaay overlevelled, but that's no big deal.

is your next quest; IIRC the questgiver is in a room at the back of the Gridania Archer's Guild, so go there and see what he's got for you.

You should always get your next main scenario quest from whoever you turn the previous one in to, so abandon something or unless you forget to pick one up after turning the previous one in, it should be pretty difficult to lose your place.

For the first 15 levels worth of quests, I think GamerEscape's listing is better than consolegameswiki. Through that section, the Main Scenario is divided into three different quest lines depending on which city you started in, and the consolegameswiki page has quests from all three quest lines jumbled together. GamerEscape divides the three out into separate lists, making it clearer what comes next. (After level 15 it won't matter, though. Through the rest of the game, there's a single unified story line regardless of where you started.)
