Can the developers please implement an option to increase the dialog text size

I apologize up front, usually people on the internet get furious when I bring this issue up about myself.

I'm legally blind, about 90% or so and even though I'm an artist and work as an illustrator and all but, when something is too small to see it's too dang small :)
My problem is, the dialog text for NPCs and dialog text in speech bubbles during cutscenes.
It takes EXTREME effort and even pain for me to be able to read that, I use the Event tab of the chat box with text set to highest possible size, but the text there is one line late compared to the speech bubbles.

I play the game on a 24" Monitor at 1080p, I sit VERY close to the monitor and it's still exceptionally difficult for me to read the dialog/story.

All I'm asking is an option to drastically increase the speech bubble text for both NPCs and cutscenes.

While I don't have a problem reading the bubble text, I support any implementation that helps the quality of life for our community. I hope a community rep reads this and passes it down!

I wanted to post this in an ask the developers thing for a live letter but couldn't find where to submit questions for that.
This is one of my favorite games of all time and I just can't get enough of this game it's incredible to me and god knows I've played my share of MMOs and RPGs in general.

I am blind in one eye. I'm glad I can increase the size of the chat and other interface items, but I'm with you, the bubbles need to have the option to increase the size as well.

Also for the love of Nophica, SE, please lower the text on the Shiva battle on PS4 when she's changing stances. It's so high up it almost goes off the screen!

I too only use one eye, my left one in particular as my right one is no good.
To top it all off I prop up my glasses on my nose so that the left lens is slightly farther away from my eye making it as if I'm sort of zooming in, this is how I draw and do my job, pretty much anything on a monitor or piece of paper, so im used to it and isn't an issue, but it does mean I see an even smaller portion of the screen.

Generally I don't have issues but reading tiny messages that pop up, seeing the number of stacks when tanking and such IS an issue.
I have my target and focus target bars set to max size but reading the number of stacks can still be an issue though over time I've learned to distinguish the blurs :) but I tend to steer clear from hardcore/endgame content because of my vision and the fact that I take much longer to see/notice stuff.

And yeah, I'm a tank, got my Zeta and Bear and all
dunno why the forums say my main class is Arcanist :)

When I first started playing, I had my PC hooked up to the living room TV. I remember it was extremely difficult to read the chat bubbles on the screen from across the room. It's better now that I play on a monitor, but I can understand your frustration.

Seconded. It's easy to be tempted to skip through text when you have to squint to read it, and there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust the size without lowering the resolution of the game.

I don't have issues with dept peception but damn dudr you nailed it on the buffs and debuffs thing
it really makes it difficult for me to do endgame stuff because you have to see this stuff quickly and react to it quickly and that's physically impossible to me.

Speaking from experience, it is an extremely complex logic puzzle to allow players to adjust font sizes on the text bubbles unless it's specifically a pixel adjustment that SCALES the font with the text bubble together instead of an actual font size adjustment. The reason being is the systems in place that determine when to advance to the next set of dialogue as well as potential for text being cut off.

To allow for any kind of font size adjustments it would need to be a pixel based scaling which will affect quality, otherwise SE would have to proof read every dialogue in the entire game to make sure nothing is being cut off for various sizes. Huge headache.

This not being an option has always baffled me.

You can increase and decrease the sizes of the buff/debuff bars for yourself and enemies and menu screens in the HUD menu, the chat box's text in Character Config, but no where can you size up the CUTSCENE dialogue????

Why not? I blame tiny Japanese homes.

Well, if that's the issue with it, why not let us enlarge the bubbles themselves as we do menus in the HUD?

That's actually what I meant when I said it would need to be a SCALING adjustment rather than an actual font size change :P

yeah I get that
so just let us adjust the size of the entire bubble, problem solved

Clearly aesthetics aren't a problem since like this i have to have the chatbox AND bubble on-screen to read the text in the events tab

It would also be nice if we could make the chat text larger then just 20. And make the map text bigger. And the NPC bubbles for those random NPCs that have stuff to say but you can't actually talk to them.

Another thing I forgot to bring up in the OP and this is a MAJOR issue for me
Now while we can make item/spell descriptions bigger, I find the marketplace next to impossible to read, especially the searchbox.
Considering we can't just link item names directly to the search box we have to type all sorts of items in it manually, many of these items are words that mean little to nothing to me and I can't even spell right, maybe it's because English isn't my first language(tho I am bilingual) maybe I'm just dumb, either way I can never see just what I'm typing in there, at all.

I find the market exceptionally difficult to browse and search because of this

I'm bumping this in hopes more people see it.

I'm all for being able to scale up the bubble in size, and I would also like to see something to make the duty overlay readable in sunny zones.

I do hope SE do something, I wouldn't quit the game if they don't far from it but I did quit Aion because the chat box was too difficult to read, not only was the text small but you couldn't even make it so that the background isn't overly transparent and the developers refused to change that.
Thank god FF14's chat box is at least very nice and as it should be.

Oh I also forgot another thing
it would be VERY nice if we could have an option to have all our FC mate's names appear in a different color in the world, kind of like friends show up in Orange.
I have a very hard time reading people's names but if I see an orange name I get closeer to the monitor and take my time to see who it is.
It would be a godsent if we had this for FC too, TERA had it for its guilds.

After a year of playing this wonderful game I just learned that there is a compare prices button thanks to my FC.
The text next to the button is TINY and gray on a gray background and it always looked like a decorative line to me for the window.

I'm a little offended at this point since SE seems to go out of their way to make life more difficult in the game for visually impaired users

HUD elements and such, anyway, can definitely be scaled to 140% or so.

Only certain things can be scaled, but not everything
marketplace can't be scaled as far as I know and dialog bubbles can't be scaled and are microscopic to read for me

While most HUD elements can be scaled and the Text of the chat box can be scaled, no other text can be scaled. And just because a HUD element is adjusted to 140% doesn't mean the text is as large as one would like.
