Then you can have a healer that PL you not killing the mob for you and getting you 1-20 within a very short amount of time.

@Alexis_Arteme: let me make it clear it was not to fix it now it for a later date before the PS3 release.

I like to think all game developers think ahead with no exception. If they feel this will work, its because they already now how it will work out around the content they have planned. Large scale PvE battles, PvP and heavily instanced content is in the future of FFXIV.

I see what they want to do, I get it -- but honestly, I don't think it is as big a deal as people make it out to be (as usual). I tried this PL trick the other day. I got to about level 15 or so, then it started to taper off. Around level 20 it was more or less gone. Half the people in this game have 50 rank everything because they intentionally failed leves -- why did nobody complain about that "power levelling?"

In essence, if you do it yourself, its fine no matter how shady it is, but if you involve someone else, catastrophic disaster?

Right now, for example, I'm level 42 in archer. I'm desperately trying to get to 45 so I can join my friends in Darkhold before they get bored with it. I WISH I could be power leveled so I can play with my friends. Instead, I'm killing sheep alone. Because nobody really wants go to through that for another, unless it's a real life friend.

Like Yoshida said, there is a r50 willing to spend his time killing crap mobs so a r5 friend levels up faster. There's nothing wrong with that.

Short version: If you don't want to power level others or be power leveled by others just don't do it.

They could just make the system that hey now only work for dungeon or that type of event. So then waste hours make the system only work in such content they make it this way.

Why not just add what FFXI had then? You attack Mob A it turn claim by you but your can AOE/Attack any other mob and if killed by you/party member you still get the EXP for all the mobs? That would fix one of the issue that people hate about the game right now.

The other issue about partying you can have level-sync i don't see why people don't agree or people don't care and want max level Asap? if that was true they wont be soloing would they? when partying is the fastest quickest way but now with pl it just making everyone want to have a PL and not even a pl like ffxi. Where you have a healer and they cure you while you fight mobs. In this system i attack 10 mobs my friend come in kill them all and i get all the EXP i don't agree with this.

Maybe i just don't get what people what and i'm living in old school gameplay i'm 20 year old i enjoy wow with friends and like to get fast level but i still find this wrong because at the end i going to be force to do it if not i can't do anything with my linkshell everyone would be doing the event and i still be trying to find people to party when all they be saying "PL do you have it?" so pretty much i be force to solo/have PL.

Level-sync fix the issue and the people that are soloing? just have a PL but a PL that can heal you while you fight the mobs not kill them for you.

At the end they should really still add level-sync so people can party even if there not in the same level range do you guys at least agree with this? so people don't have to switch to a low level class just to party with a friend. Me and my gf always have to level up new class together when i only want to level up 1.

This way i can still be on my rank 36 and she can be on her level 20 class.

Pretty sure plenty of people did complain about it actually(me included), but SE just said it was a trade off rather than a exploit.

As to this topic i would say if they did implement a level sync i would probbably enjoy helping my lesser level'd friends more and an extra incentive to do so would also go a long way to keep people doing it.

If you think you can get to "Max" in a "few days" with this method, you haven't tried it. Respectfully.

another thread on this? really?.... I said it in the other one, and I will say it here, the info we have is not really clear, I really don't think it is going to the this "power level fest" that some think it will be.

First if you going to be rude and not give a good reason what you don't want it. Then please do us all a favor and do not post then. I was not being rude i'm trying and find a good way that it's casual but still not make everyone get max level within a few days of gameplay.

Where can you find 50 mobs in a cluster anywhere on the map?

20 years ago i was born so i don't know how that make any sense . I did see the translation i link it in my Opening post. I don't have a 20year old vision i have a causal but a middle ground it should be easy to level but not to the point that you gain to so level within a short amount of time.

Does everyone just want to get max level as quick as they can? is that the point of everyone playing a game? i like that too but they have to be a limit getting max range should not be done within a few weeks of gameplay. Yoshi-p said he did not want to make it long but also not make it so short this powerlevel i can get it done pretty quick. faster then me soloing by myself.

He said he did this to fix the issue of new event he was coming up with. Why could he not make it like FFXI? where if you attack A it's yours but if you attack 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 you still get reward/EXP? not if someone come and take it from you but they wont get any EXP/Reward if the first person attack it too it repop. This would make it so you can go and party and get 10+ mobs and exp chain and get level up quick but still not as quick as getting someone who max level and killing everything with 1 shot.

There so many way he could have deal with this but he ended up taking the easy way out. Just like everything in this game it done easy,cheap and half-***

Pwr lvling only really works until rank 24 honestly, after that it all falls apart. And although that is about 50% in numbers to 50 it is only like 8-12% of the total SP.

The whole pwrlvling only works because of the massive SP bonus pre 25, after that your SP will actually be higher sp/hr in a normal party then a pwrlvl.

Sp has a cap )10 levels) so a rank 25 getting sp from a rank 50 is going to be like 200-350sp/kill depending on the mob. And higher level mobs that give decent sp will not work in pwrlvl setting because there are simply not enough things to kill. Example Take a rank 30 person to Down's raptors and get ~25k/hr, take a rank 30 to a proper camp get ~25k/hr. This method is just not effective you are sacrificing a ton of time at no gain.

People did it in XI and nothing bad happened... and they did it in well every other mmo to a point as well. It is because 1 reason. At a point in all mmo pwrlvling is just 100% ineffective.

I will say I have pwrlvled probably over 80 people in my ls to around 18-20 and for 1 reason, so they can participate in our events. Rank 1-20 is solo and honestly most people I meet in-game do not want to do that. SO get them to 25 and get them doing leves, dungeons, Nms, grind partys in a group... and they enjoy the game alot more. Many people said they where at the verge of quitting Pre-25 before getting in my group... now they have multiple 50s.

While Pwrlvling is negative in some ways (gets ppl higher up with no knowledge of the game) in this case it gets them to a point they can truly play the game they way they want to, with others.

explain this too me what i read was

I could be level 25 and get someone level 50 which would be in my party. I would go kill mobs that are for my level range which give me good amount of exp. So let's say i attack 10 mobs around my level and the person who level 50 "Outside party" Attack each mob and kill them. Wont i get all the great EXP from all 10 mobs? even if the exp go downhill from 21+?

Yes, most people want to get to max level ASAP. Some people like to pretend playing this game is rocket science and you have to train your body and mind to master that new ability you get every 2 ranks. In reality any average IQ gamer will master a class in much less than 10% of the time it takes for him to get to r50.

IMO it's understandable that people rather be r50 and have all the abilities and use them in a dungeon raid, and not stuck killing a million squirrels.

If you talking about me it's because it's true they could have done it many other ways without doing it like they said. Yoshi-p said it was so his other event that he going to add would be easy done. I understand it would take longer and such and the crystal tool is hard to deal with. But at the end it's that they don't want to waste that much amount of time and do it the fastest way.

Yes i can understand that 100% but they could come up with other ways you don't have to kill million Type A mob. In FFXI i only kill 1 type of mob for a few level range sometime i saw them again at high level but they look diff and the area was new. Even in WoW when questing i kill diff type of mob as i level up and even in dungeon so i don't see the issue. getting someone with a pl to get max quick wont fix it you still be killing the same amount of mob it would have take you just a less the time but i guess i see your point lol.

What the point of the forums? So people can come up with a idea other can say ya i like it but maybe it be better done this way. Someone else come and take both the people idea and make it better then when SE see everyone point of view and idea they make there own idea and at the end you can satisfied more people.

Because not everyone in the world like to solo? once again the point of the forums is to give idea not to fight with each other :( i would like to party with friend but most of them are higher then me so why should they go and level up a new class when they don't want too? Level sync fix this issue and many other it not only to fix the issue of finding people to party with.

How does this make me not wanting to solo lazy? does not even make sense to you at all? I want to party but i don't want to make my friends just level up a new class just to party with me.

So when you have a party with a r35 gladiator that has no idea how to do their job nor what half their skills do... then you will be QQ.

It's "baby-fieing" an already easy leveling system. I can't believe they are promoting power leveling... and at such an early state of the game.

Fast kills not working everywhere. The slow respawn rate hit you faster then.

Hmm that very true i overlook the high re-spawn even if you kill everything in the area you in you have to wait. So at the end you still killing the same amount of mob but it be quicker.


So let's say your in a camp with 20 mob's and it take's you approximately 30min's to kill all of them, and it take's 15min's for re-spawn the first few mobs that you killed have already re-spawned by then. If you have a p-lvl it take's you 1min to kill all 20 mob's leaving you 15min's waiting for the mob's to re-spawn. In other word's plvl's would only be beneficial on camp's in which the mob's have a low respawn time.

I guess i overlook the re-spawn issue with FFXIV. But people would find a way to level up quicker with the system matter what.

As i said in the other topic, if people can PL, it'll do, but don't mean you require to PL.
Level synch it's a great feature in a world where you can level only in party, but since in this world you can level solo too, allowing PL isn't a game breaker. If you find a friend willing to help, ok Pl, otherwise don't. The end.
We all remember FFXI don't? And people PL. A more restrictive claiming don't stop people PLing, let's face it

FFXI pl was a healer just healing the party this is having a PL kill the mob for you.

Btw forget about my last post it seem SE is also going to lower the re-pop of mobs in patch 1.19 which mean Powerleveling would be even better so there no down time and people can spam mobs over and over and get max level even short amount of time with the system with have now.

and ? in the end, the party healed could'nt die, he just need to throw his ws in place to kill. The methos is different, but the end it's the same

Level sync was one of the first big mistakes, which have beeing made in FFXI. It was leading ppl to pt in lowlevel areas to the top ranks. Doing that will give us more ppl with 50's but unskilled like hell since they never touched harder fights and never got experience.

It is like Yoshi said... the Player will grow up with the Charakter. PL was always fine in FFXI.

I hope they change there mind on this claiming system, it's an absolute joke. Keep the claim system as is just allow you to claim more than one mob at a time, put a cap on it if you have to at like 5 mobs or something. This system does nothing but promote PLing, sure PLing was in FFXI but at least you had to actually kill the mob yourself not allow some R75 to go around killing everything in one hit after you touch it once.

The current system is bad enough for PL that you can just stick an R50 in the party and get them to kill everything but now they won't even need to be in the party so you can get more people in your rank range for the party bonus SP.

Just do claiming and EXP the same way as FFXI. You claim it and it's yours unless you call for help in which you forfeit rewards. EXP should be based on the highest ranked member of the party so if you have an R50 in a party of R20's killing R30 mobs for them, the SP would be based on what the R50 gets which would mean everyone get 0 most likely.

Add level sysnc then that R50 can sync down to his R20 friends and they can all play together and enjoy the game together.

Level sync was not perfect in FFXI but that was because the game was not designed for it and it came very late into the life cycle of the game. Here they have an opportunity to do it correctly and make sure content is balanced for it.
