Leve allowance idea...

Could SE please allow us to trade GC seals or Ventures for additional Leve allowance.

Perhaps 1 Venture for 1 additional Leve allowance, 1000 GC seals for 5 additional Leve allowance or something like that.

EDIT: Maybe adding for DoL/changing for DoH the Beastman tribe hand in quests could give additional leve allowance instead of EXP.

That'd be nice.

Still sitting on 100 leve allowance each on both my main and alt =/ what do you do that you need more allowances for.

Oooh I never thought of this, but I love it. I was literally at 0 leves as of last night as I'm trying to level my crafters. It's quite annoying having to wait a full 24 hours to get 6 back.

You'd have to increase the cost significantly for something like that to be feasible, considering the general rate of returns on Leves, especially at upper levels. You shouldn't be able to break even or even get ahead of the game (With regard to Leve allowances) by doing Leves in that regard.

SE should bring back 8 battle/gathering leves and 8 crafting leves each 36 hours, i think

On my alt I burnt through the leve allowance very quickly, like you I had a hundred originally built up but after leveling my botanist from 34 to 50 I had pretty much none left so when started on my fisherman class on that same character I had none to help me and the daily allowance amount is hardly any help as burn through those pretty quick too. I already got my miner to 50 thankfully else would be even worse after fisherman done.

What I would like is a way to earn more leve allowance myself through trading in seals or ventures or something rather than have to rely on just the passing of time before can get any more...I still have all my crafters to level after fisherman too and such a system would help a lot I feel in those grinds. I am not asking for freebie additional leve allowance, I am willing to earn it via trade ins like ones mentioned but I do not like having to rely on passing of time alone just to get another small amount which do not last long.

i would be more then happy if they gave us a an allowance for every Guildhest completed.

Pretty sure reason is to limit the allowance is to slow down the the leveling speed, you are not suppose be able to hit 50 on every single crafting/gathering in a day or 2.
With that said the rate of the leve already have such a huge impact on crafting/gathering leveling to the point that threads popped up saying the exp from them should be decreased.

There might be a few people who would cap it in two days with such an additional way to earn leve allowance but those same people already have and do level their classes to cap in a few days including on DoW/DoM classes, most people however would not. All my suggestion does is allow players to keep up a slightly better pace than grinding node to node, fish to fish alone while they have to wait a huge amount of hours for the next small leve allowance to unlock.

I would like to ask you how long it took you to cap all yours because you have been a member of these forums for a long time like myself and by proxy I assume had been working on your characters for a long time in which case I wonder perhaps whether your wearing rose tinted goggles in respect to how quickly you actually capped them in the past, especially in terms of capping them all over the period you have been playing since which is by looks of it prior to ARR. As I have already pointed out however...your argument falls flat about the whole cap in two days not only because that is not what I suggested I wanted the change for but also falls flat because it is already possible to do that on every single class in this game of which some people do that (maybe even yourself) but most do not and would not. The same would be applicable to my suggestion here, some might but most would not and those that would already do such things on other classes even without the change I suggested.

Leves have a good impact in general comparative to DoW/DoM in regards to how much EXP is earned from them but unlike DoW/DoM it is because DoL and DoH cannot gain EXP from dungeons, fates, hunts, most quests including an extensive main story quest line plus trials and raids. All those things are alternative methods a player can use to cap their DoW/DoM classes which keeps leveling it more interesting and varied while some of those methods give equally very EXP like dungeon grinding, even to a point fate grinding which can lead to some going from 1-50 on those classes in less than two days. DoL for example can only do three activities to level which are leves, the daily single GC hand in and the rest is 100% grind one node or one fish at a time. DoH have the additional option of Beastman tribe help in the form of hand ins which DoL do not get. Given DoW/DoM already has people who can level to cap in less than two days does this mean you want SE to reduce all DoW/DoM EXP options just because (some) people cap them already in less than two days too?

It is fine if your against the idea but I would ask you do not use very bad excuses like your 'day or two' excuse which is a pointless and redundant argument given it is already possible to do that on every class with or without the change I suggested. I would also ask you not to metaphorically put words in my mouth by claiming to speak for my motives despite myself saying no such thing. My motive is to help keep a better pacing, a slight increase in leveling speed would be a byproduct of that but it would be slight increase and not a major increase plus would need to earn that increase. I have no desire to use my suggestion to cap in a day or two and if I wanted to do that I could do so even without SE implementing what I suggested so that excuse was redundant.

I feel this was the only question and the rest is just some self-righteous rant no different from the bible preachers coming on campus telling everyone that they are going to hell.

I can't really tell you the exact time as most of my achievements dates are overwritten by my last server transfer in March 2014. So you can either take my word for it or whatever but my characters are fresh ARR characters.
I started 2nd week of September 2013 after trying and failing to get on my first choice server Mandragora due to server locking which I transferred to it during the first week of December 2013.
During this time, which was less than 3 months - I capped all DoH/DoL/DoW/DoM - this is before dungeon exp increase, before beastmen tribes, possibly before roulettes too(?), and before leve exp adjustments (you get less exp from DoH and DoL leves before but for DoH leves, you get a 200% bonus instead of the 100% now)

My alt I started after my 2nd transfer to Balmung - I did not spend that much time on it, leveled DoH/DoL almost purely off GC daily turn ins. So yes it took several months but also close to no effort as it was extremely easy to obtain all HQ from my main char.

TL;DR
It works fine the way it is now.

I told you what my goal was, it is not what you 'claim' and I explained that to you. Your just making assumptions, bad ones that are contrary to what you have been told by me previously and an assumption which ignores the facts I gave you. My suggestions in the first post were just that...suggestions intended to kick off debate and bring about other people making more suggestions to make the system even better. You can pretend I am sugar coating it if that makes you feel better but I told you my goal already and it is not what you claimed, what you claimed is just in your head and not what was said by me.

It has less to do with speeding up the leveling (though I admit it could be used to 'slightly' increase the speed though that speed increase is redundant for the multiple reasons I already told you), it has more to do with improving the consistency of leves helped by the player offsetting the real world time limit restrictions by requiring additional effort from the player to gain those additional allowances of which to use between the long periods of time waiting for the reset. I also explained how your excuse regarding the increase in speed was highly flawed but you have apparently ignored that.

Things do not need to be broken to be improved upon. You could ride in a horse and carriage to get from A to B in the old days but does not mean the motorized vehicle should not have been invented and used. Improvements should not be ignored just because the old thing is not laying on the floor broken into pieces. Threads that are created to bring about discussion on how to make something better should exist just as much as the ones whining about something already broken...nothing in this world is perfect and there is always things can do to improve upon what once was.

On a side note I am not going to keep playing along with your shotgun argumentation methodology, if you want to reply then you are more than capable of doing so using a single quote or even with no quote and just replying normally without the dissection into tiny pieces which take out the context of those quotes. Yea, MORE exp.

Especially with the ridiculous rate you gave 1 venture/leve - you know how much GC seals you get for a i100 dungeon drop? for a GC crafting/gathering daily turn in? a i55 green item that you can craft/buy and spam?
This literally enables you to power level everything within a short time because the vast amount of exp these leves give - hence is why you are limited in them.

Look at some of the crafting leves, turning in an HQ item pretty much gives you a whole level at low level, and higher level ones (e.i lv45 that reward 100k exp) it only takes HQ 3 to gain a level. 3 crafts to gain a level - leveling a craft while barely doing the craft (or you can just buy it off MB then you wouldn't have to craft at all). But no, that's not enough, you want to be able to do this indefinitely and not be limited by the guild leve allowance.

Yea, there are many ways to get from point A to point B, but you don't need a private jet to do so.
The current method is already a quick and easy route, I guess I can include this into the "Please stop asking SE to make FFXIV more easy!" thread.

i think other options to gain allowances would be nice. i don't think it would be so bad to award an allowance for the completion of a Guildhest, or rather yet... attach a single allowance as an award for Guildhest Roulette. don't make it a daily bonus, but one a person can repeat as many times as they like. one duty, one allowance. and guildhest wait times are pretty low, even for damage... at least on Exodus they are. :/

I don't mind the option to do this trade, although personally I don't feel the need for it because I dont' cram everything into a few days, so by the time I need my leve allowances they've already grew back.

I have all but 1 class at 50 and have always had a surplus of leves except the time i was getting Fisher to 50, and even then i just waited and a lot of that was being forced to drop leves that were too expensive/time consuming to complete.
Sooo...yeah...I really don't PERSONALLY see the point in this, unless they add something spectacular to use leve allowances on.

I used the multiple turn in leves for leveling when I took my crafts to 50 (gathering to 50 at the same time). Those who say that this is quick are not representing the whole picture. In order to do the multiple turn in, you need HQ. When you're leveling up, getting HQ is not easy and needs HQ mats. This took a lot of time to gather and then to craft for the turn in. Of course, if you're just spending RMT gil, there's no need to do the gathering.

Leves are once again an important thing as I now obtain the untradeable items needed to craft the Lucis turn in items (obtained through leves or bought with GC currency). To get one crafting job ready for Lucis turn in takes ~ 30-40 leves worth of activity depending on the RNG (leves don't always offer the item as reward).

You should not be using 30-40 leves to get the items for Lucis for one class. To get the items for 10 Lucis tools on my main, I used about 210 leves, and most of the wasted ones were used figuring out the system.

• Every time you complete a leve, the rewards and leves offered shift (all DoH are always offered, but they shift). Completing means turn in for DoH/fisher, for DoW/DoM/miner/botanist it's when they ask if you want to warp to the levemate, not when you get the reward.
• Because of the above, accept all that have the rewards, turn only one in, then go back to the levemate and accept all that have the reward you want.
• If none are offered for the class you are going for, get one from a class you will be going after in the future that has the Lucis reward.
• DoH 45 leves in Mor Dhona and starter cities both offer Lucis items as rewards.

The allowance system is used to keep people from farming levequests ad infinitum. What you propose actually kills the entire system

I just spam the leves in Mor Dhona instead of teleporting around. There are 2 leves with normal turn in and one with the triple (HQ) turn in. I just did the two. If the item wasn't offered in either, I would do one of them. Usually the other would cycle into the needed item. I spam crafted all the turn in items beforehand.

An 80% reduction is not a reasonable balance. I will concede a small decrease in the amount might help balance it but requiring additional effort to obtain additional leve allowance also a balancing aspect, so if they were to reduce the leve EXP I would say 25% would be adequate depending on how much effort is required to earn more leve allowance in between waiting many hours for a small amount we currently get. The leve allowance and single GC hand in helps break up the tediousness of grinding fish to fish or node to node in between the 12 hours of pure grind while waiting for just 3 more leves to unlock and the leves always give a good feeling due to the increased EXP gained from them. I would have no problem them decreasing the EXP from them by a small amount but 25% I think is more than enough if make the effort required earning more the main balancing aspect.

It might seem currently fine if have built up 100 leve allowance while leveling other classes but when you have run out it becomes unreasonable to have to wait 12 hours for measly 3 leve allowance which is compounded by the fact leves and one daily GC hand in is the only other options available for DoL classes outside of grinding fish to fish or node to node. This idea is merely to really help that situation and not the situation where already built up 100. Remember also whether or not SE did implement such a thing suggested here in some way, it won't change the fact some people always have and will level up to cap in few days so that has and always was the case, but most people would not...with or without implementing this sort of idea suggested here.

Another thing I would like to see is Beastmen tribes offering hand ins for DoL not just DoH and perhaps the Beastman tribes quest hand ins could be the method for gaining additional leves instead of of venture or GC seal hand ins and they could give additional leve allowance as their reward instead of EXP. The tribes repeatable quests themselves being an additional time sink and effort needed to earn and balance it out. I know DoH has also Beastman tribes hand ins for EXP but I cannot comment too much about that since haven't started really working on DoH much yet and been working on DoL at the moment mostly.

DoL has so few actual methods for gaining EXP compared to other types (a single daily GC hand in, only 3 leves per 12 hours I think and all the rest is pure grind), they are especially limited compared to DoW/DoM so I feel something should be done to help more on the very limited methods they can use besides having to wait many hours for the next unlock of a small amount we get for that wait. So a trade in for gaining additional leves is something I would like and it would be balanced through the time and effort required to gain those new allowances, a small reduction in EXP is also fine but it cannot be the main way to balance it and especially not in an overly vindictive way.

This change would have a disproportionate effect on different subsets of players. For many (my guess is the vast majority) of players the number of leve allowances is completely irrelevant because they aren't going to be able to complete all 100 anyway. This would be reducing their XP by 80% in exchange for nothing at all. Only the tiny fraction who run hundreds of leves at once would get anything in exchange for that 80% drop.

Good idea. For people who have Level 50 in all class the Leves are pretty much useless right now and 100 of them are just sitting there collecting dust.
