Well, Bartz and Terra are probably a lot rarer than Moggle Mog (5 star Vs 3). Mog only took me something like 3-5 tries. Shiva HM just refused to drop, got it easily from EX (higher rate from EX? Coincidence?). Took ages from Garuda HM. I want to estimate about 10-20% for HMs but who knows.
Done countless Necks / Keeps with no character card though. I know someone who got Bartz first try. Beats me! -

I got Terra first try in a farm, and both Bartz and Garuda just from doing Trials Roulette. Don't even talk to me about Coil, Atma, Zodiac, or those stupid Gold Booster Packs, though. RNG is suffering for everyone at some point.
Think positive: maybe you'll be really lucky with some other, non-TT, drop somewhere? Maybe? -

I spent like 6 hours doing Mog HM and decided EX is the only way to go to for cards. On a side note, I spent 3 hours in garuda HM for the card before that, and no card dropped but my bf got 2 of the cards.. And he got mog very fast from HM...

I don't know why SE didn't make it like a trading card game with less focus on having to grind your way to collecting the cards and more focus on trading with players to get what you need then SE could have added more ways to make the PVP of battling against other players more unique, fresh and interesting... like how I expected TT to be. Instead TT is just another retarded grind grind grind grind grind grind until you hate it and don't want to do it anymore. That is exactly what happened with me. Haven't touched TT in weeks and don't really want to anymore =/
There could have been a specific trading window like you are only allowed to trade a card for a card, no gil, no marketboard... but nooooo =/ -
