About Premium Stream Purchase

so like... how do english speaking or NA players go about actually making the purchase? the website is in japanese, and uses an unknown currency.

please help!

Uh... You mean the fan fest ones? I presume at this point you just want the in-game items? If so I'd recommend just buying the Premium NA or EU Stream for them from Twitch?

IIRC SE posted a step-by-step English guide to purchasing the nico-nico stream of the JP Fanfest.

i just want to watch the 2day stream. SE doesn't say anything about Twitch, and the only links they give go to that other place. which i can't even register an account on, because i don't read Japanese.

I didn't get it myself so can't help there. The EU and NA ones were much easier :s Most of Nico Nico itself should be in English though.

welp... it doesn't seem like you can purchase Nico Points with PayPal like you can the Premium membership. and for SOME reason our bank refuses to authorize international transfers. guess i will just have to wait until they air another Fan Fest in the NA region.

EDIT : oh yeah. what about the NA one on Twitch? do you know if that one can still be purchased? i did a search through Lodestone and found an entry, but don't see any way to actually purchase something.

The NA and EU streams are still available for purchase and viewing until March 31st, 2015. After that time, purchasers will no longer have access to view the Fan Festival streams.

All the information you need to purchase the premium NA Fan Festival stream can be found here.

but i am still having trouble trying to figure out how to actually make a purchase. it just loads up and shows Offline. down below it says subscribe to the premium stream. but there is nothing to follow. also, just to be clear, i am logged in to Twitch.

I Had to buy the premium on Nico JP and that was not easy to buy point lol. i finaly bought it but still waiting for my Mog Attire 48 hours later. maybe the delay is longer for get it.

For NA and EU i can confirm.. you can't buy the premium presently. Or they hide the option.

I also saw no option to sub on twitch, and thus bought the niconico stream ticket, and as you stated, 48 hours with no code. However, they did respond to the inquiry I had made about it yesterday this morning, and through crappy google translate, seems to me they said it would take 1-2 weeks? I'm not entirely sure, as I said it was google translate and I can't read JP Kanji, but I'll paste it here for anyone who knows or can translate.

Indeed. i translate it with google french and that about 1 or 2 week's for Mog Attire. They probably need to get code from SE and send em in batch.

yeah. i seen a link that says english, but still wasn't sure. the website in japanese after all. alrighty, well guess imma have to take the chance. wouldn't mind seeing an official response about the Twitch channel.

Yeah it says offline when you follow the link from the rep and there is no link to pay or subscribe, so guess its locked out early.

Just a heads up that although the ability to purchase tickets has or will soon expire, the codes you get are good until the end of the year (sometime in December, I don't recall exactly when). I recently got this for a friend and was worried the code had expired when it registered as already used. I was able to get her a new code (Twitch sent another one with apologies, don't know what happened with the first, maybe they double dipped that one) but I'd already contacted SE asking if the code had expired and they said the date it was good until (that I still can't recall exactly). Note: That was from the EU FanFest stream, the Japanese one was later so MAY have a later date to reflect that, but I'd still use any codes well before then to be on the safe side.

I bought the NicoNico stream too when the EU code came up as used. That was a couple of weeks ago. Still no sign of a code, but I don't really need it anymore and I'm hesitant to try to communicate using Google Translate and the like. Navigating the site like that was a pain in the rear already >_>

Anyone with a solution to use a MasterCard? It wont accept mine :/ would really want the mog attire and I cant seem to find any other option to make a payment.

any word on them re-opening the twitch subscriptions? i can't not for the life of me figure out how to get those nico points, or whatever. if only they would accept paypal for that too. but the bank won't allow an international transfer. i have also tried buying a pre-paid, and still no go. come on... :(

Here's apparently a step-by-step if you want to purchase it via NicoNico

again, the banks will NOT allow an international transfer. between me, my friends and family, i have tried to purchase those points from a total of SIX different banks. they all say the same thing, and won't allow the transfer. i have tried TWO different pre-paids, a Visa and a MasterCard. however, i was able to activate an account with a 5$ charge through PayPal. but that doesn't help a damn, since you can't buy nico points with PayPal... seriously... wtf is wrong their stupid system?

Square Enix, thank you for causing me to waste my time and money. if there aren't any viable ways for people in the NA region to buy things from JP websites... then please do us all a favor, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!

Strange. I didn't have any problems using my mastercard (it was debit card though). Just followed the guide step by step... guess it depends where you live and what bank you use though :/ (ps: still no word on code arrival/code itself. hopefully it comes within their 1-2 week supposed ship date ><)

sooo... how does the NA region go about getting this? Bank of America, 5/3 Bank, First Financial Bank, U.S. Bank, KeyBank, and Chase ATM. NONE of those banks will authorize an international transfer. and again, i have tried two separate types of pre-paid cards, a Visa and a MasterCard.

time is running out, and any help would certainly be greatly appreciated.

all-in-all it doesn't matter what card i use, or from what bank it is. again, i have also tried Visa and MasterCard pre-paids. this error always shows. and the only thing the bank can tell me is that they won't authorize an international transfer.


so GG, Square Enix. just G-f'ing-G






P.S. according to several people in-game, you do NOT need to upgrade your account to premium. so nice job swindling people to do that. real nice, Sqaure Enix. you could have actually mentioned that it was optional.

That wasn't true when I did it. I did it a few weeks ago, had errors when I tried to buy points and immediately quit my premium subscription. I later saw that the points purchase had gone through but I had to start my premium membership back up to do another purchase (I don't remember if it was to buy the 2nd lot of points or to buy the FanFest "ticket" with said points).

What rubbed me the wrong way was that although only a couple of days had passed, my month's subscription to NicoNico cancelled when my plan did, so I had to subscribe for the month again when I shouldn't have even been a week into my original payment >_>

It took about 2 weeks to get the code from NicoNico and then I didn't even need it because Twitch fixed their broken code at the time. It's become a gift to someone in my FC instead *Shrug*

Nico Nico sends the codes out weekly in batches. I had the same issue for a few days and I sent them a quick email asking about the code and that's what I was told and I got mine the next day.

Weekly? It was longer than that for mine o.o Was 1.5-2 weeks for mine.

well, there are numerous people in-game that have told me the premium account is NOT required. however, i have already added the premium as per the guide from the lodestone the other day, or so. but that doesn't help any, because it is impossible for me to purchase the damn points. and i tried again today... the bank thought my card was stolen. and now the bank has locked my card under a pending 48hour investigation, even though i told them there was zero unauthorized activity.


*sigh* either way, Square Enix sure did a bang up job with this. just got my income tax today and can't even spend for another 2 days. THANK YOU, Square Enix.

The premium account is not required, I purchased mine without getting the premium account.

well... i don't know why i am unable to make the purchase. the banks simply won't allow it. and after the most recent attempt, they place my bank account under a 48hour hold due to suspicious activity. and again, from a total of SIX different banks i was unable to make the transaction. they all said the same exact thing, they don't authorize international transactions. and again, neither a Visa or MasterCard pre-paid would work either.

and then we got the Twitch stream linked by the Community Rep. which isn't even active anymore. and to boot, they fail to mention that a Premium account is NOT required on Nico Nico to access the stream. (actually, i think Premium was required during the actual time of the stream. but is no longer required when accessing the stream through Timeshift.)



anyhow, so like... how the hell do other NA region players get this? why the hell did SE even bother linking this to us through the NA lodestone? just to troll us and waste our time?

come on people... quit being stingy... :P please tell me how i can go about making this international transfer. please? the banks won't allow it, and i have tried pre-paid cards from wal-mart. there must be a specific way... won't someone please tell me?

I can't get it to work either. Tried both my MC and Visa (following SE's directions).

Bought the ticket, so now I have to wait 1 week for them to send the code?

I bought the tickets as well. Good to know (at the very least) that it can take some time to get the code. At first, I was really confused as I had no code. But, I'm understanding I have to wait for an e-mail now.

A couple of things I noticed today from my experience:

Credit cards: The "Verified by Visa" part seemed to fail on me. It never got to the point where I needed to enter my password for approval. It would simply attempt to load, then go back to the payment screen with an error. When I called the CC company, they couldn't see any pending charges at all. I also tried my MC, same issue (but I didn't call).

Debit card: At first when I tried, I had the same issue where it wouldn't prompt for a PW. When I tried the debit card again, it magically worked and I was able to enter my PW and the first transaction of 1000 went through. When I tried to do the 2nd transaction (for the remaining 500 points), my account was frozen. Had to call the bank, and they took care of it right away for me.

My friend was also trying to get his cards to go through, and NOTHING was working for him either. I ended up getting him credits. It's obviously not the ideal situation, but maybe you can find a friend in-game who can help out with this.
