I am from Singapore and I have an EU account

When I clicked the pre-order button on the EU Square Enix store, I got denied because of region. How can I get the EU version of the collector's edition then?

Amazon, perhaps? Sorry >< I have no idea how you'd be able to do this straight from SE's store. Hopefully someone can help!

I'm in the same situation as you as an Australian living in Japan. My account is EU/PAL. I sent in a support ticket and they basically told me to bugger off and buy it elsewhere.

I'm fortunate enough to have people assist me back home with this, but I know there are doubtlessly hundreds of people who do not have the same opportunities. Square Enix needs to offer a proper solution to the consumer. By way of the announced 4 million current users this is a bloody awful way of delivering a new product to the masses.

Since you mentioned you're in Singapore, you might want to check if Zepy Games is going to get it.

Or you can use a VPN software to mask your IP's location to that of one in the UK. There are several free ones you can use since you'll only need it for a short time. Do a google search for free VPN's.

I'd choose somewhere other than the UK tbh. Don't want anyone else to pay the marked up prices unless they have too.

Game version from other regions like JPN or NA won't work with an EU account, so OP would have to buy it from the UK store.

Same problem. I have an EU account, just wanted to get a PC download. It's also region locked. They don't even have to ship it... why is it region locked?

VPN and Proxy did not work - Just tried and also had a friend of mine try the same thing. We're basically out of options here and need some kind of support from the EU team otherwise a lot of people are going to be unable to purchase Heavensward.

You can buy from 3rd party sources. There are those that sell the cd keys.

Probably have to wait for it to show up in other retailers that ship to your country like Amazon.

Singaporean with EU account here. Majority of my static has this problem where we have eu accounts and cannot pre-order anything. Amazon uk and gmg, even if stocked, will be locked regionally too thus limiting direct purchasal and since there is no local distro here, we have to rely and hope for local game shops to parallel import in the correct regions, which until now is all NA.

Weird that my friend with a NA account is able to pre-order from the na store with no problems.

Qisahn has the game. The physical CE (which is only for NA) is SGD$249 (or USD$180) for PC and SGD$245 for ps4. For the standard version, you can choose either EU or NA region.

Having the same problem. I have an EU account and staying in SEA.

They shouldn't have region-lock if the user only wants a PC Download. How does that even make sense... it's just a download. There's no shipping fee or anything.

Same for me, using EU account but stay in Malaysia. Was able to get ARR from greenmangaming but don't think we can get it for Heavensward now since it's locked regionally for EU/UK version. All I can do now is wait for local retailer or for any site that allow us to buy EU version from them.

They really should have taken into account that they released EU codes all over the world... but now they're region-locking even digital versions. It's just cray-cray. Doesn't make sense. I hope they do something about it in the upcoming weeks.

It was available for players outside of EU for ARR but I think it was change later on after release not sure why. Now totally not available for players outside of EU right from the start :(

Question: how do you pay your monthly abo? You cannot use credit card right? Because the Mog Station is doing IP checks, same as SE Boutique...

Is EU that stringent?

I'm from Singapore too, but on NA account, paid by credit card. No such issues on payment (but I haven't pre-ordered Heavensward yet, no rush since I'm only getting digital CE).

I've always thought that region doesn't matter since what it essentially affects is payment currency.

Paying in pounds is quite expensive...

No problems with payment. I just renewed my sub for 6 months a week ago.

I started with the EU collectors edition when 1.0 first came out and it continued up to now.

you can sub (they happy accept) but you cant buy digital copy they block you ! se doesnt give a damn about us thats the punch line !

Well, SG here too. some of my FCmates are trying to get the physical CE too. some tried VPN, managed to bypass the "...region" thingy only to end up with payment error.

If I recall, most of us bought the game from GMG and other SG based online retail stores. And was advice to register under EU and other regions, this was either a SE Mod or some forum vet. Either way, most of us from SEA are registered under EU. And I thought that after a bloody year they would have sorted out this region locked BS. It is a digital download of an online game for crying out loud. Piracy issues, which is the main point of this region locked crap in the first place, doesn't remotely exist.

I can pay Crysta or credit card, no problems with it at all. I've been playing since Early Access of 2.0 with just this one EU account. I am in SEA.

And I got my copy from GMG.

Yeah, the game codes that GMG had on stock were EU codes so naturally we had to use EU or AU+other_regions accounts.

It's ridiculous that they'd screw SEA over like that. SE is really not handling their first expansion very well. I'm afraid you'll have to see if you can get any of your EU friends to buy it for you and you could pay them back through paypal or something.

I see.

I bought the physical CE from a local store in SG and the store manager actually advised me to take the NA copy instead. He didn't tell me about the EU IP restriction issue but just said that the region determines the currency I pay the sub in, which technically is better for me to pay in USD than GBP because of our SGD forex rates.

Eu restriction is really painful...
I am playing on PS4, and have a Eu sony account. Means I must use a Eu version of the game (still have a spare useless JP version of ARR at home).
So the only way to play is to buy a digital version.

I love logic.

I have an EU account and live in the EU (Netherlands) and still get locked out of pre-ordering because my country is not part of the Serviced Countrys. WUT??

WTH Netherlands is not part of EU now.

For now I am just hoping other online retailer would have the EU version for sales without this silly restriction
