Not sure but seems like defender stacks with any of the aformentioned, but the other three overwrite each other? And Defender has a 30 min timer?? huh? If I reengage defender once 30 second timer reopens the affect goes away instead of reestablishing? Am I getting all this right??

Defender: They did this on purpose so you can REMOVE the effect if desired. If it simply was overwritten, you would be screwed by reduced attack for 30 minutes.

As for the others.... They overwrite each other because each performs an action that has a very specific use. Example:
Deflection will overwrite anything because it cancels damage. No point in Aegis Boon healing you when you are taking 0 dmg. Do you want to waste it and have it heal you for 0? lol -

Thoses 3 are a good way to be sure your shield is always up, i'm perpetually using them everytime it's up, making an order, depending on the situation, but the whole time i'm starting with Deflection (coupled with Ambidextry) so i take less damage at start that let me build my hate then Aegis Boon to get some heal and let me get more hate without having mages to heal me much then end with outmaneuver and tempered will to get some defense while using the weaker defense shield skill.
If you use them when the others arrive to 00:00 at timer they'll be always up.
As for defender, use them 1 time to get effect, reuse it to lose it.
I'm lacking a lot of skill from others job and i never had much trouble with my enmity, as long as i have the R30 Pugiliste skill (Accomplice). -

A quick question, I have been using Defender to tank and I was wondering if anyone else is using this ability(As a gladiator of course) and if not what do you use instead? Just timing Aegis Boon/Outmaneuver/Obsess?

At the moment, I hate when I block an attack, and just when I press Phalanx, the shield drops... Man, If I blocked, I should be able to Phalanx, even if the Shield drops in the time between that and my press (about 0.5 sec?) lol -
