I've seen others post higher shipping costs but still that's really stiffing us on shipping. It does not cost this much to ship a product through standard shipping channels. I use to work logistics for a large online video game retailer where I was a wholesale accounts manager. For something of similar size the cost would not exceed what you are saying it will for standard shipping, 2 day or next day? Sure. But not Standard shipping...

For that size of a box and weight. Oh did you also ask to have someone sign for it cause that increases the price. It is about the standard price. Location does change cost.

This is being shipped to the Washington DC area which is located near 3 major international shipping hubs/ports. And like I said above I'm well aware of costs associated with shipping products of various sizes as well as the import/export taxes imposed by countries. Which is why I'm saying the cost is a little steep. About 4-5 dollars more than you'd charge a customer for shipping costs.Quote:

SEs online store isn't exactly what I'd consider a major business, but it's also not something you'd see as an actual physical store (like you would in Japan). The goods are generally shipped from Japan and have very small business transactions internationally, which is why they incorporate costs and likely why they don't have a (good) partnership deal with national shipping carriers. While that may or may not be the case with Heavensward CE items and the like, they likely have to deal with high shipping costs on their end despite that possibly being the case. I'm sure they're overpricing some of the goods, but without a partnership deal of sorts (the sort of thing you see most major online stores have), you generally will see high shipping costs.

I preordered and will hope that ebgames or amazons canadian sites gets the CE if they do I am very much cancelling it from the SE store because its looking like its going to be around $180-190 USD so after exchange rate and import fees since this will undoubtedly be hit by customs I am looking at probably close to $250-275 for a $130 product
