Would like to know the answer to this too. I didn't see Yoshi P say if the CE was SE store exclusive or not.
And to preemptively clear up any confusion, please let us know for all platforms if it will be available in other stores as well.
I am wondering if stores like Amazon will get pc,ps4 physical CE?
i really would like to know this as well cause my gamestop is literally 2 min away from me and i would rather pick it up then wait for it to show up
I'd like to know to.
Would definitely like to know if Amazon is getting the physical CE as well.
Would like to know for Gamestop as well.
With pre-orders beginning in under 2 days, it'd be nice to know before the day of, or, ya know, before they all sell out on the official site.
Probably safe to assume it a SE store only item. Cause all the sites, gamestop, amazon, best buy, target, walmart pretty much any place that sells games has the standard edition listed but nothing about any CE physical or digital.
It would be safe to assume that. In the meantime however, it would still be nice to get this answered. I'd rather not spend half the physical CE price on shipping or wait weeks to months to receive it post launch like countless people had to do with the 2.0 CE due to stocking/shipping errors.
It would more than likely be an SE Store Exclusive, just like with the physical CE of A Realm Reborn.
I'm gonna wait til Monday to give my GameStop a call and find out if they show the Physical CE in their system, if they don't I may have to cancel and order through the SE store. :/ I prefer being able to go and pick up my game personally though because sometimes the mail is fickle.
Just to save energy for people from here on out, we realize that there is a large possibility that it is a SE store exclusive. The PC version was for 2.0, but not for PS3 or PS4. We would still like an answer however, just in case it turns out to not be the case.
It was implied last night that it was.
When they had the slides up for the Physical Collector's Edition of the game it read "Square-Enix Online Store" as the place to reserve it.
When they had the slides up for all the other editions of the game it read "All participating retailers".
So while it never came out of their mouths last night/early morning it was implied this was to be the case.
Side Note:
If people are worried about the mail and not getting it day one, remember that when 2.0 was launched the Early Access (which is emailed to you at time of reservation) had a 7 day grace period wherein you could still play the game 7 days after the Early Access was finished before having to put in your actual product serial code.
Now if you are worried about someone stealing your package, you can always contact the delivery company (they usually go UPS or USPS with my experience) and request a signature before drop off or give put a number on file for them to call (if you live in an apartment) before dropping it off.
I called my local Gamestop and Game today, neither has any info on it... It'll cost so much to buy from the online store with the extra fees ;-;
What extra fees? You get free shipping on orders over 100 dollars; I ordered the KH2.5 CE from them recently and was only charged for the item, nothing else and it arrived on day 1.
According to the stream and forum posts, they made it sound like it would be avilable from Physical stores, and thru online retailers. They even reference some retailers online too if you read the whole thing.

Quote: Pre-order Codes
Pre-ordering from a retail store (North America)
When pre-ordering a physical version of the game from a retail store such as GameStop and Best Buy, a pre-order code will be printed onto your receipt. Please save this code as you will input this into the special FFXIV: Heavensward Pre-Order Site. (Instructions to follow below.)
Pre-ordering from a physical store (PAL)
When pre-ordering a boxed version of the game from a physical store such as Game or Micromania, you will receive your pre-order code printed on a leaflet. Please save this code as you will need to input this into the special FFXIV: Heavensward Pre-Order Site. (Instructions to follow below.)
Pre-ordering from an online store (North America)
When purchasing from the SQUARE ENIX Online Store, your store account will host your pre-order code on your account page along with instructions on redeeming it. Other stores, such as Amazon, will email your pre-order code to you. Codes for purchases completed on the SQUARE ENIX Online Store will be available right away; however, retailers may need some time to implement pre-order codes, so it may take a few extra days for them to be sent out when pre-orders begin. Going forward, however, you will be able to receive codes immediately.
Since the pre-order starts on Monday, its possible that gamestop and other retailer's systems aren't even listing the game in their databases yet to prevent early/unfair preorders from happening.
Not the case when they do that, they apply a blank untitled SKU in their system to serve as a place holder at least a week in advance; which in our case is not the case in GameStop stores. Also, you are pulling information from a totally separate topic about what to do with pre-order codes, that had nothing to do directly with the collector's edition, as all retailers are getting the other versions of the expansion.
When they were speaking they were making it sound like the CE is Online store and all other versions of the game are at all participating retailers. Maybe I am reading into it too much but why would you say Online Store when talking about the CE and not continue to talk about the Online Store for the other versions, or vice-versa. Obviously they are trying to dodge a bullet here that they cannot really get away from.
EDIT:
@Elkya95
:( /wrist :( Is there a reason for that upcharge? That seems weird.
I've also been wanting a real answer on this. ARR CE was SE store exclusive. Although they did not come right out and say it's going to be the same for Hevensward CE I have to guess that it will be.
Greetings,
I'm only speaking for the North America side, but no, the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward Collector's Edition is not a Square Enix Online Store exclusive. However, other retailers will only have it available in limited quantities when compared to the Square Enix Online Store.
ARR CE was not a SE store exclusive. i got ARR CE from gamestop. amazon also had the CE during that time.
Nice , did they confirm how much is the CE in us? I miss the live letter last night.
collector's edition is 129.99 MSRP; and thanks for the clarification last night seemed to imply it was an Online Store only thing.
SE store no longer run by digital river which was infamous for being a bad company, also you get free shipping on anything over $100 and CE is $129. I have ordered few things from their new store and shipping seems pretty fast even one was pre-order and got it day for the actual release date.
As Lexia stated Digital River has not done the fulfillment for anything I have ordered at least the last few months from the SE store so pretty sure they are no longer part of the SE store and fullfillment is done by this new company which in my experience has been a lot more pleasent to deal with.
Do you know if Best Buy will get any I have my 20% off there with my gamers club unlocked card.
I would want to save 20% at Best Buy but if they don't get it then I would just order it from the SE store, but I have no idea if Best Buy will be getting the CE and if I don't order from the SE store on Monday they will probably sell out I am guessing.
thank you so much!!!! for the reply your the best XD
I still shock for such a small dragon toy it would be 50$ more on the price tag? All it come with is that a art book and dvd. While 1.0 and even 2.0 came with few more item like a token which is worth 10$ by itself i would say even 2-5$ more just for the cooler art work on it. If the dragon was way bigger then that i would say sure 50$ more no problem but for it size i would say it should be 99.99$ for the CE.
I guess i get the download CE version hoping it way less then that.
What surprise me more is people is fine buying that much for less then what got for 2.0 and 1.0 lmao.
If its run on the same line as the Variant Arts series (which is what it looks like) it will have pretty good detail and 50 for a figure that size would be a steal. I have the Dragoon Variant Arts one and iirc it was like 200.00 for a 7-8in statue, but there is a lot of detail, so I think its worth it. But to each there own I suppose.
Well, from what we can tell when Yoshi was holding it in his hand.... it is roughly size of a male hand.
