Your thoughts and what you would like to see for the Gold Saucer in the future?

The GATEs are too easy imo they should of made them harder like for example cliffhanger could of been 10 times longer with several npcs to complete the GATE along the way the further you go up the more difficult it gets but you get more MGP but then you also risk getting nothing if you wish to get to the top as soon as you talk to 1 npc the GATE is finished, at the moment its just 1 sprint and your done in under 1min.

Triple Triad I love but the tournament structure is so bad it ruins the whole thing (my biggest disappointment in the game so far) they should change it to something like a duty finder bracket tournament with 64 players from several servers where you can enter 7 mini tournaments per week, you accumulate points depending on what place you finished in then at the end of the week you will have a your final total score from all 7 mini tourneys that you entered.

Choco racing is also good but there is a few items you get during the race where it can completely ruin the race which need to be nerfed I haven't gotten into racing so much as you need to invest alot MGP to get some of the upgrades/items for it but since I prefer TT I'm saving up for the cards.

The cactpots are going to last for awhile as I always see myself entering the Jumbo/mini until I have all the MGP items I want.

Overall the Gold Saucer got old too fast for me and for several other players, the whole of idea of adding the gold saucer was a great idea and the design of the actual Gold Saucer place is awesome, the quality and effort they put is there but there isn't enough content/difficulty to last more than a few weeks hopefully SE can change the TT tournament format and add in harder GATEs so that you cannot beat them all straight away which will make the whole GS last longer.

What would you want changing or would like to see in the future? :)

Weekly fishing tournaments - Largest fish caught in a zone (zone randomized weekly). Only 1 entry per person. You catch a fish and you have the option to submit it to the tournament. Once submitted any other fishes caught will not be counted for that week.

Gold Saucer based challenges that grant MGP.
Battle Square
Scheduled Chocobo Races and Battle Tournaments that allow betting pools.

Battle Square of course.

Maybe Dungeon related activities. Things, people can play and meanwhile learn something they will need in dungeons, raids and so on. Would make sense in many way. It would help the "soldiers" to train and the civilians can feel like or mimik their heroes.

Not sure about chocobo race tournaments. It's very hard to balance this out. Should be no PvP, imo. Chocobo racing as it is is not really designed for this.

Hmm... maybe on a course with more obstacles, less or no items, more control over the chocobo, this MAY work.

Pointless rides would be nice.

Would be fun indeed. Those jumping GATEs are the one with the most active gameplay, but they are short and the reward is a joke (while the very easy dance and imp GATEs give 480 MGP oO). :/

I'm throwing in another vote for Battle Square.

Maybe add a ride like the Speed Square (a rail shooting game for points through the Canyon that Gold Saucer is built into. More points = more MGP) or bringing Snowboarding in.

Also, once more racetracks are available, a series of Cup Tournaments for Chocobo Racing (Call them things like Moogle Cup, Manderville Cup, Sultana Cup, etc.)

Monster Battle Arena

Battle Square for sure. 4 or 8 man teams where you fight waves of enemies that get progressivly stronger. After every wave you will get a random buff or debuff that persists through the rest of the battle square round you signed up for with a boss at the end. Would be alot of fun I think. MGP prizes, and maybe item loot for bosses you defeat at the end to use to craft glams or other things.

Honestly, given the nature of the Gold Saucer, I'm hoping for a solo option as well. It'd follow not only the FF7 format, but also what the Gold Saucer is essentially designed as for this game too. I mean, the rewards for solo can be much smaller in scale, but it'd just fit more IMO.

Team games in general would be an interesting addition though. It's pretty fun to queue up with a lot of people you know for Chocobo Racing. It's especially awesome when you're with friends, and the one person that generally doesn't do very well, gets the Trollteor and /lololololol his/her way to 1st LOL.

No need for smaller rewards, playing alone can be much harder, you really are all on yourself. Group arena, so people can help each other and play coop, but why less reward for solo play?

Doesn't have to be smaller, but it really comes down to a balance thing that's why. MMORPGs are group related games, rather than solo. This basically translates to not encouraging solo play over group as the dominant method (unless there is no group version of said content). So if they do decide to offer battle arena or something, but only a solo access version of it, then by all means they shouldn't reduce the reward at all, so as to keep it in line with others. If they do design it around a group aspect however, then they'll probably have to reduce the reward to make the group version even remotely attractive of an option.

Mind you, "smaller rewards" is only in reference to being compared to the group version. So say the average payout was around 2000 MGP for it, the solo should keep in line with that, with group version paying out maybe 2500 or 3000. That sort of thing. Reward people for playing with others, which is what this genre is about, not to mention for taking the time to bother getting a group together (time that could have otherwise been spent doing the activity solo). Or don't, it's really just up in the air until they ever mention anything about it.

-An Inn so I can store all this glamour and get my hair did when I get more glamour.
-A Monster arena like the Grand Slam in Chrono Cross, where we can raise a party of monsters and have them fight other player's monsters, turn-based style.
-Better and more rewarding mini-games. Only 5 MGP isn't even worth the effort of playing most of them.
-I want a prison underneath, just like VII. :D
-Gold Saucer needs its own primal like Quezacotl (VIII summon that had abilities related to Triple Triad) or Cait Sith or even Godbert himself.
-Other mounts allowed in the Chocobo Races.

a battle arena where one of two things can happen
1) you bet on one of the two monsters and you can watch the fight between them.
2) you can capture and raise monsters in this arena and earn more MGP by playing AS the monsters (releasing them giving you bonus MGP if they are at a good level) and the traps are of fitting levels (all monsters arena level would be 1 to start with making it fair if someone caught a level 50 mob :D)

I want a "Magitech Speeder" mini game. aka The Motorcycle mini game from FF7 only with a "Magitech Bike/hovercraft" since Eorzea has never heard of motorcycles.

(Maybe make it an achievement prize to unlock it as an overworld mount too, especially with the hovercraft idea since 3.0 will have flying mounts)

If people don't want to play with others, it's no good idea to force them. For what? That's why both should be equal. There is no need for lesser rewards. Maybe give people a small bonus who randomly help, that would be something different.

Some people like to play together, they will do this anyway.
Some people like to play on their own, they don't like it to be forced otherwise.

It's always bad when you force players to do something when there is really no single reason for it.

How about we not think about rewards and think of ideas to add to gold saucer instead? :)

Snowboarding like FF7 could be fun, make it solo or multiplayer.
