Pre-order

Hey guys.

Just wondering if anyone knows a decent site i could use to pre-order a physical collector's edition in the UK? all i can find is the US.

( i know its not out until the 16th pre-order listing but im just curious as of what stores/sites will be shipping the product)

this, as far as i know there is no real way to order a CE outside the official store, though i would recommend you check with GAME next friday (20th) to see if they cover the CE of it

if your only after the normal edition multiple Stores should have that for preorder on the 16th

Personally I'm going to order direct from the SE store at 00:01 on Monday morning. There's no guarantee that anywhere else will stock it going on recent form (SE have made many CE online exclusive). If, after I have a safe order with SE, I find it on Amazon or somewhere more reliable then I'll go with them and think about cancelling the SE Store order.

That may or may not be true. Back when 2.0 came out and when the PS4 edition was finally released both the PS3/4 CEs purchased outside of the SE store. I purchased my PS3 CE back at launch from Amazon. Now the only way to order the PC CE was only directly through SE's site. So they may stick the way they did 2.0, they may change it up.

checked my Gamestop store yesterday. They have it as pre-order on their system and will be open for pre-order at the 16th. I am living in Denmark

They have the normal game as pre-order in the their system at GameStop nothing on the Collector's Edition though.

Oh, I really do hope retailers get it; that way I won't have to worry about a package getting stolen or what-not, but we will see~ /fingerscrossed

We've still got over two moths until release so there's no hurry for pre-orders.

There is if you want that CE! (It will last 1 day at best, 30min at worst) Its like the Batmobile edition of that new Batman game, it sold out (over 10,000 copies) in 30 minutes.

depends on what edition you want entirely.

i'll be opting for the dragon statue and the collectors stuff with it lol so pre-order to me is better the earliest possible.

I'll check with GAME / Grainger Games tomorrow as well before live letter.

Did they say specifically that the CE was a LIMITED collector's edition, though? Pretty sure they must have planned for a LOT of people wanting that CE.

Collector's Edition kind of imply that it will be limited in quantity. If everyone can get the collector's edition then it wouldn't be a collector's item. :P

Not always true, sometime it just get attached to something so they can slap a higher price tag on it, also depends what included have found come CEs that can still find months after release.

Just got an email from SE saying the quantity for the CE will be limited...so not everyone gonna get one.

Also side note:
Collector's Editions tend to be extremely limited to the number of total sales of a game and not available to just "pick up" after game launch
Limited Editions tend to cost more than standard but are available in quantity after game launch
Standard Editions are always available until the publication has expired.

I have yet to find anything stating if the Collector's Edition will be available in the EU, let alone in the UK. From the way the email was read, it would be sold in limited supplies.

I am in the UK and have put money aside ever since they announced the CE so will be extremely disappointed if they forget the fanbase in the EU. Have to wait until 16th March I guess. I so want that dragon figurine.

People collect things that aren't rare all the time.. I think you're kidding yourself if you think that they will only have a small quantity. I mean I could be wrong but they were selling physical collectors edition for both 1.0 and 2.0 for a while still after the game was launched and they still have the physical PS4 2.0 CE available now. They know a lot of people are going to want the CE and I doubt they're stupid enough to limit sales to such a small quantity that nobody has a chance to buy it after day 1 pre-orders.

Obviously they are going to send out emails and imply that the CE will be "limited" because that will increase overall sales by making people think they're special. The fact that it's limited doesn't mean there is only a small quantity of them however, sounds like business as usual to me.

Collector's editions tend to not exceed 10,000-15,000 units. Just because you collect something doesn't mean its a collectible item. What makes it a collectible item is the fact that there is a proportionally limited amount to the number of normal items (ie: holographic cards for example are considered collectibles, antiques are considered collectibles, sand is not a collectible item, water is not a collectible item, cat pictures are not a collectible item). Now that being said it no one bites on the collector's edition of games there are chances they will be available for a bit but not because they are making a bunch.

They have 4 million accounts registered for XIV now not all those accounts play even if you go with the 500,000 active accounts I doubt SE only going to make 15,000 copies. I would guess they will make enough for least 25% of the active subs which would be 125,000 if going off the 500,000 number.
