The old beast tribe quests before ixal

I really think its about time the daily limiter was removed for the 4 old beast tribes (but kept for ixal), as I am never gonna do these while I need these limited dailys for oaknots for making my artisan off hands and such.

I do want to do these quests for the lore and cutscenes more than the mounts and titles. But alas it is not worth the time and limiters that could be spent getting oaknots.

I mean, they could make it so you can do each repeatable quest once a day, but allow us to do all of them (minus the ixal) and not limit us to the 6.

Please fix this, this is something I wanna get dusted and done before the expansion.

Yeah that would be nice... I also wish they'd make the Ixali quests that reward oaknots suck less to do, knowing that they're the ones people are going to be repeating. Everyone I know hates doing them, it's not uncommon to get mining, fishing, botany from Coerthas, and mining, fishing, or botany from Mor Dhona with maybe one DoW/DoM quest mixed in there if you're really lucky. It's laborious, and it's not fun. The only reason I get to do any of the other beast tribe quests now and then is the times I get a fisher quest for both Mor Dhona and reject them.

It's like someone said with the Ixali quests- "We hear your feedback re: not liking FATEs with other Beast Tribes Quests (such as Magitek Menace) so instead we're going to give you something different you're guaranteed to hate having to do on a daily basis just as much!"

I don't mind the Ixali quests, the crafting portion however at times is super frustrating as there seems to be much rng to them.

Its not actually that I hate the ixal quest, its just I would rather use my 6 daily limit to get pieces for my artisan crafting gear, than use them for a pitiful 6 ventures. But lore/cutscenes are important to me to get done since we have an expansion on the way and likely have our hands full after that.

after months of doing ixal before and after sealants I've had enough and decided to do the other beast tribes which I totally ignored beforehand.

if your at the point you don't enjoy them and don't need the oaknots then just drop them, even if the gil is still good from selling sealants it isn't worth you getting overly annoyed at the game for.

you can always go back to them in the future if need be....

Would be nice if we had a separate allotment for Ixal vs the other 3 beast tribe quests. I still need a lot of Ehcatl sealant to progress my crafter/gatherer classes, but like OP I'd like to finish the other beast tribe quests. The landing areas for those other beast tribes sure are empty and lonely and that should tell SE something.

Don't really feel like we can complain about Ixali quest though, Oaknots open up a lot of BiS options and expensive mats, the quests there are fine imo.

At the very least maybe it's time they give us a beast tribe allowance cache, similar to how to they did levequest in 1.0 (at the beginning, leves were a 'use them or lose them' daily allowance just like the beastmen are atm).

Let them save up to 24 allowances or something, that would add a little flexibility too

I've heard something about this from looking at the achievements, some cut scene when you get them all up, but I need all oaknots I can get for crafting purposes and I'm completely torn between lore or BiS craft gear (which takes a whole week just to get enough ehcatl sealant to make one offhand). We shouldn't be forced between these two things as most will pick the craft tools and miss out on lore. Which is a damn shame if you ask me.

Just take a break from the mind-numbing Ixal ones and do the others. You'll get cool mounts, especially the ones from the Kobolds and you get to see the bonus quest unfold. After crafting for Ixal for a while I do take a break from them and go around all the other 4 and do the ones that drop the measly 3 poetics, just to do something different, but still gain something useful.

Unfortunately, something like this was "sort of" asked for the XVIII Live Letter. I say "sort of" because the question was more or less born from mine in the "Ask Questions for Letter from the Producer" which asked for any incentive or ability to do the other tribe's quests in light of lucrative rewards from the Ixalis. Here, lemme bring up the quote:

As you can see, they acknowledged the oaknot part of the question and omitted anything about doing other tribes too (I blame the inclusion of "or" in the question).

Money and materials aren't everything!!

(Though beast tribe vendors are useful for materials - and not just the ixal and their oaknots!!)

Beast tribe quests are kind of fun and have cool stories and rewards, although they also took me literally months to complete!

( And I swear this one started talking like a sylph after a while...)

I think I'm going to start just doing 2-3 of the Ixal quests a day that reward 2 Oaknots, and the deliverance one, and save the rest to go back to the old beast trubes. Because I'm really really starting to hate doing them them, I feel like they deliberately decided to make the Coerthas and Mor Dhona ones waste a decent chunk of our time as an alternative to wasting our time by making us wait on FATEs. Botany, mining, more mining and more botany, you can easily get both types of gathering quests in both regions every day and I'm sick of it. At this point I'm letting them roll over to the next day because by the time I get halfway to the 80 or so individual gathering actions it makes you perform I'd really like to be doing something else. So maybe I'll just start accepting a maximum of one of each, and go back to Sylphlands to finish that out.

I am glad someone has brought it up with 3.0 landing in just over 3 months.

My personal take is that the limits on the beast tribes won't be pulled since they are doing bundles for Mac users and Yoshi-P has said that the 3.0 content is not available to players who haven't finished the 2.55 storyline.

With that, it is my hope that they will break the daily limits on all of them once we enter the 3.0 content. It's either that or when they add new tribes relating to the 3.0 content which sounds more like the dev teams style with regards to the way the ge plays

I been too lazy to even do beastmen tribe quests lately after I crafted all my off-hands and both artisan/forager sets =/

It shouldn't take that long to get all the oaknots you need for the crafted stuff.

If anything, you can try to just do the 3 quests that gives 2 oaknots each and use the other 3 quests on a different beast tribe.

Oh really? Well darn maybe I might have to spend a month and burn through all the other beast tribes... oh wait I can't because I still need the Ixal ones to grind through my crafting jobs because nobody buys crafted gear.

What really should happen is that each is set to 6 independently with the experience/gil scale set to 0 once reputation is maxed out so the spamability is something not favorable to RMT, but people who want to see the storyline will do so anyway even if they get no money.

The Ixal quests are perfect for pushing past a point in crafting where nobody buys the stuff you make (except other materials) and can't just hang onto extra gear until you can desynth them. I've been working out of 12 spaces in my main inventory for doing the Ixal stuff, and selling all other materials since I have no space for it. Part of the reason I've done little of the other combat so far is no space for extra gear (and why my fishing set is missing pieces.)
