I was in Exodus. Moved to Phoenix yesterday, very active and friendly people.
Odin EU is good. Very active, active end game community, PF is always full.
Phoenix is the highest pop EU server, or was as of the last time I saw the numbers. We still get regular login queues every day but never more than 30-60 seconds. :)
I have no idea which EU recommended server has most players or whatever, but Phoenix is my server, and I love it there.
Can't really say more than that... Lots of people online all the time of the day, and there are tons of great people there.
But then again, I have played in Phoenix since the game came out, so I don't really have any comparison :)
I'm on Moogle. Supposedly there's a lot of french players here, but there's a fair share of english speaking players as well. I've met many nice people here, but when it comes to endgame I'm not the right one to ask. Still, I have no trouble with this world, anyway. :)
Ragnarok is a good EU Legacy server
Depends what you want from the server, and in some cases, what language(s) you speak.
I won't comment on other servers, despite having been on a few, but from my experience, if you want to see good progression endgame, then Ragnarok server has the most progression (per FC), and in general compared to other EU servers.
If you want a more laid back approach, then role on w/e EU server takes your fancy. Just be aware than some of them have higher French/ German/ Italian, etc. player bases than others, and as a consequence, they may not be to your liking.
I also live in the US, and Lich is a good server. Large English population, nice people.
Not too sure about coils; I don't do them much. Lots of primal/hunting going on.
Also haven't had any problems getting into Gold Saucer, haha.
From what I hear, Ragnarok is a good server if you're looking for raid progression. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Phoenix, Odin, and Cerberus (I recommend Phoenix as it is a big server with plenty of activity going on). I wouldn't recommend Moogle due to the majority of the French playerbase being bad at the game, and I've seen people transfer to Phoenix from other servers and are enjoying their stay here. If you ask me: Ragnarok, Phoenix, Odin, and Cerberus are four of your best options.
this kind of discrimination has no room here and has been report.
Plus how the 3d or 4th largest FF14 community could be "all bad"? Sources?
For your intention, Black Hope B-H a 100% french FC on Moogle has done all the EU 1st kills from T5 to T13 including savage coil. Also there are now like 3 or 4 "bad french" FCs selling T13 kills now.
Please let the bashing / Discrimination in LoL.
It's not discrimination when it is true. I edited my post to be more accurate, to say that the majority of French players aren't that good and I am speaking from experience here. Yes, there are French players that are doing raid content and getting their clears, but for the most part what I say is true. Most French players do not know what to do, and even if they understand a decent amount of other languages to communicate effectively they make the selfish choice to not speak anything other than French. I've also seen a French player doing around 250 DPS on T11 as a BRD with an iLv. 115 weapon, whereas I could do far more than that in similar gear. It's a mix of lack of skill and stubbornness that drags the name of the French playerbase through the mud, much to the frustration of French players that are legitimately good who are unfortunately put on the same boat as them by other players who had bad experiences with other French players.
This thread is, however, a place to offer suggestions on where to go for a EU server. If anything, your post should be reported for deviating from the topic at hand because you took unnecessary offence to a random person's comment on the internet. It was not my intent to cause offence for I was merely speaking from experience. Nothing more, and nothing less, so I will say no more on the matter and see what other servers are suggested and which decision the OP makes based on the collected counsel.
It's probably because your game experience is sooo large that you already met the majority of the community (lets say 150 000 players?) Thanks for the heads up its much more clear now :)
Going back to what OP asked yes Odin has a very good community and so does Phoenix as well. I know a lot of very friendly peeps on both.
Also if you re not FCOB oriented i know a couple of good but more casual FCs on Moogle that welcome US players.
I wont recommend Ragnarok due to being a bit overcrowded imo
Also OP it would be great to know what are you looking for to help you. End game, craft, buying a house? For example on Moogle most lands are already bought :(
wait until Heavenward,
with the launch of the expansion there will be a EU Data centre filled with Eu worlds
*hopefully increasing your ping when you're based in EU and more housing spots ^
I'm another Odin resident and I'm happy there. PF always seems busy and DF pops fast. (Though I do main WHM so that's a given for me anyway.) Only downside to Odin I'd say is that the markets seem rather inflated compared to other servers. Good if you are a crafter, not so much if you are a customer.
Plenty of FCOB FCs and LSs from what I've seen in shouts.
As well as casual/social ones too. I run a social FC and am a member of a lovely social/progressive LS. ^^
This has yet to be confirmed. All we know for now (info from fanfest) is that they want to create EU servers, physically located somewhere in Europe. They did not mention (yet) when this will happen other than after 3.0's release.
So let's wait for 3.0's release date first and then hope for a soon answer regarding EU servers.
Please refrain from spreading misinformation.
i was at the london fan fest and i remember there exact words "we are pleased to announce that soon there will be a EU data centre, we know how much you have requested one and we apologies any inconveniences have been made from being on a data centre in the US or in Japan"
they were also apparently interviewed where they said the Desition was made, due to the heavy latency reports, feeling that bosses with one hit kill mechanics (so titan, levi, maybe even bosses like I'mdugud and etc) would need a faster reaction that what most have due to lag, that way people would respond and act in the most optimal setting :D
it was the very first thing they announced at london, before they announced Dark knight, Bismark and rivana (the last primal name escapes me fully)
this was said by Yoshi-p himself translated by Koji-fox
i will admit it may not be up FOR the launch but it may be up after it (mayhap 3.1 or 3.2)
this was announced at the london fan fest :3
it was a hell of a show Yoshi-p was a black mage and flared us with info D: and he kept Critting our minds ;A;
We have more Italians and Germans on Phoenix here than we do French I believe, and there is even a Finnish FC here. Phoenix is a bit of a melting pot in that respect, but overall it is an Anglophone server. I do agree that it is pretty casual and our raid scene isn't as strong as Ragnarok's or perhaps Odin's, but that's not to say that it is non-existent. It's just that our raid scene may be a bit awkward since the majority of good or decent players are already progressing or farming the turns, while the bad players are trying to get carried but fail justly.
