Just how bad is the RMT????

Well i have been playing XIV since launch . And in that time i have seen my fair share of RMT shout and tells. SE says the "Task Force" is rooting out RMT issues. But sadly there not . Here in Pictures is my 200 Blacklisted RMT names , My report , and what happens when you have a full 200 Blacklisted . None of the names are ( Deleted ) . I hope SE takes a look at this and really STARTS to crack down on RMTs. I cant even Blacklist anymore so i get /tell spam about every 20min by around 3 different RMTs from different RMT sites .

RMT spam is pretty much non existent on tonberry. It really is awful on servers such as gilgamesh etc.

I'm finding that I tend to get more spam when I'm standing around doing nothing. Other wise out of my whole BL. I've only ever removed 6 names that turned into (deleted character).

Actually, the '(Deleted)' name in the Blacklist does not occur if the character has been banned by SE - the banned character name will still be listed as normal. '(Deleted)' only shows up if the character has been actually completely deleted by the owner or if they move servers. So if your blacklist is full of RMT from ages ago, you could probably safely remove the oldest of the bunch, as they've probably long since been banned by SE. Occassionally I get a RMT tell on Balmung, but I guess because of Balmung's congestion RMT ironically find it hard to recreate new characters there. :p

Also DarkRain, you should remove those screenshots as SE does not condone 'public shaming' on this forum - it's classed as a ToS violation and could result in you being actually banned instead.

I don't think i've gotten an RMT /tell on balmung in like........a month? When I was on Lamia it was about every 2 or 3 minutes.

Ever since the GS update, I get one RMT tell an hour. I don't trust that number SE gives about banned accounts. I want SE to prove it. To me, it's just numbers, and anyone can claim anything without proof. I just did earlier in the post.

They can ban accounts, but the RMT will just make new ones. If people would stop freakin buying gil from them, they probably wouldn't afford/want to keep trying to make new accounts.

That's true and I think SE should actually be tyrannical about this. ZERO tolerance for gil buying/selling. If you buy gil, your account is banned. Your Credit Card number is banned. Your IP is banned. Make lots of deterrents and see if less people buy gil. I'd even go so far as to say (in certain countries, anyway) gil buyers can be sued by SE for receiving stolen property. Your gil, items, character, everything belongs to SE. You can't sell your character or gil because it's not yours to sell. Make it blatantly obvious that you don't own shi* so buyers can't go "I didn't know it was against the rules". I wonder for every seller/buyer they keep, how many does the RMT drive away.

This free weekend/campaign coming up, all those new people getting bombarded with RMT. That would drive away any potential customers. If I were SE, I'd be embarrassed.

Pretty bad for me because they spam me like crazy. In fact I have had to resort to flagging myself /busy.

BTW OP... Do not be surprised if you get banned & this thread is deleted.

I've ever only seen about 2 or 3 RMT tells on Balmung.

I am constantly spammed by RMT's, it seems like when I do report them they never disappear - so I just sit there with 200 names on a full black list while others just keep spamming me. All you ever get is that copy and paste 'Oh we know this is an annoyance but just blacklist them and report them'

I know they are busy (no doubt), but I do report them, and I can't blacklist them anymore because the ones I do report never seem to disappear.

And yes I could always set myself to busy, but personally - I pay for this game, why should I block one function of it because RMT's are not being handled like they should be? Also I can't necessarily just turn off my /tell's, I help run a FC and we have always told our members we are there if they need us and ask in FC or in /tell if they want it to be more private. Thus I need to be accessible for my FC family/friends.

I even have a character I made on Pink's server (a friend of mine but we ended up on different servers and are happy where we are) just to hang out now and then. Hop over there maybe once every week or two just to spend maybe 2-3 hours. I already have 90 RMT's B'listed over there too... on a character I maybe spend 3% of my time on. Somehow this need to be handled better. >.<

Im just shedding light on the subject. It was easier to screen shot the list then type out 200 names that are hifffgd vbhdhh . I don't understand why SE just dosent ban there IP , credit cards , or sue the websites. My post is not slandering SE its bringing attention to the issue . If the post is improperly done then by all means the mod can delete it .
