Getting some nasty lag in the R-80 Races. Normally I can hit the left right buttons and they'll respond fairly quickly. but now I hit the button and it goes off 2-3 seconds late. Making me miss chests/pads.
I also noticed what seems like some stutter. I asked another player in the race and they also said they were lagging out.

Yeah, chocobo racing looks like a laggy mario kart atm xD. What bothers me most are the bugged coffers, sometimes you go through them only to obtain...

Yeah, Its not just the coffers though. Im getting odd lag in the races that Ive never had before the maintenance, But Im not lagging anywhere else in game.

I've experienced it as well. I also had the infamous black screen for almost a minute - I thought I had seriously crashed. Despite this, I manage to win first or second place almost all the time in the maiden trials... let's see how poorly I fare once I hit the R-40.

I think our Chocobos run in invisible lanes along the race course and so long as I've been in the same lane as a coffer I don't think I've ever missed it.

Here's something I've noticed after my many races (chocobo rank 48)
Pay attention to how long its takes for your stamina to start going down after you leave the gates (this only works if you're sprinting off the line) from what i can work out the time difference between when you're stamina starts dropping and distance covered is how behind everyone is compared to the server on average. so if it takes like 2 seconds before it starts going down that's two seconds ahead you need to anticipate turning for a chest other wise you'll end up not getting an item because according to the server you've already passed the chest when you started turning.
However I have noticed that most of the time you'll catch up with whats happening on the sever in about 10 seconds, but it can go out of sync again. Just something to bear in mind.
One other thing i'd like to know is why there is such a huge discrepancy to how quickly people get off the starting line. If we ignore the head start and sprint abilities and say no one has them there is a huge variation in how quickly you accelerate off the line in every race. Obviously acceleration should be taken into account here, but I don't honestly think the current stat numbers that players have (unless you pumped all your feed into acceleration) would make a big enough difference here. -

Though, in some of the tighter areas, I feel they might combine lanes temporarily, like the bridges in the desert, or the channels in tranquil path.Quote:
