Really SE? Really? You honestly still don't see the problem with this terrible claiming system even though there was a huge thread about it?
from the 1st look , it look like it gonna be problem to hold hate while fighting rooming NM and some people may use that to MPK the 1st party to gain the claim and loot

Concerned how this will effect EXP more than anything.
Can anyone help clarify how this particular revision will have any sort of desirable result? It sounds like it's either the same as what we have now, or worse. I also find it's not very clear so I could be wrong.

Oh and a fast way to PL players w/o having to be in the pt with them and gimp the xp for being lvl 50 ?

If the range isn't absurd it shouldn't be to bad in my opinion.. EXP wise I mean, if anything it should help grind parties a ton.
What if I claim something and I DONT want help killing it? Will there be a /blockaid feature that we can utilize on stuff that we wish to solo?
Gonna have to try out this new system before I decide whether or not I will totally hate it :(
You saying this made me think of bots, and if they will be more annoying now.. all I can say is I myself won't be playing to be an ass, if everyone would be nice and not MPK I think this would be great but of course it will happen so we will late it play out eh? no use speculating we've been givin the dets, let the show begin I suppose.

It just boils down to how to handle xp. Power leveling? let them have it, there are few people in the game as is, maybe this will add more players.
MPK? please, lets have it. About time the game gets something to make it hard.

I think this change is going to be a good thing. It looks like it will allow claim on multiple mobs, something I've been wanting since the game came out. Hopefully no more SP loss for a poorly timed AOE on some unclaimed mobs that get too close or on mobs that link with the new linking system coming along with this.
The only issues I can see with this is people attacking stuff your party has slept or trying to mess with enmity. These things won't even be a problem if most future content is instanced.

Edit: Oh, and say goodbye to open world NMs as well. The player griefing that this will bring in is sure to put the final nail in the coffin for them.
Well first off they could make it so those attacking that are not the main group gain no enmity. So if they want to help you kill faster then so be it. I'd rather watch someone wipe lol.

Hopefully this doesn't also mean someone could be walking along minding their own business when suddenly they're hit by an AOE from an enemy someone else was fighting because now all players can attack all enemies (unless it's a leve or behest monster). Sounds to me like if we can attack them at any time, that also means they can attack US at any time (like again, them using a big AOE attack that kills people running by), even if they're fighting someone else.

The prob with NM's with this... there already easy enough, why would you want 40 people able to attack a mob designed to be killed by 6 or less, talk about easy mode.
I can already see the shouts of /shout Giant Buffalo rape <Do you need it.> 38/40!
Instanced only makes everything common, instead of limiting gear in any way, literally everyone can do it at any time, like now, dungeons lasted many groups maby 2 weeks, content completed > /logout til next update.
Your prob is that you hate competition... because your well... not good most likely.

From my experience, getting claim on roaming NMs has nothing to do with being "good." It has everything to do with proximity to the server and existence of bots. In my time in XI, the ability to claim went Bots > JP > everyone else.
I can't count how many times I saw mobs pop claimed.
I'm not saying all instanced content is the answer. But a system guaranteeing a fair chance at fighting is what is needed. Whether it be pop NMs, instanced fights or something new, I could care less if I ever see another open world NM.
hahaha because how well i can claim an NM defines how well i play my class. i dont want a game that is totally instanced, i want balance. however i think the claim drama from FFXI can suck my ass and never exist again. which is why i think the best boss gear shouldnt come from roaming NMs but from instances.
Why does it seam all the Low lvl's people or people with only 1 50 Seam to Enjoy all the instances? how about this maybe they should bring new content out and make it hard to get, ya Claim wars and everything! then a year and a half later they can instance it for the Casual Players and sense you dont enjoy playing the game very much in the first place you will be happy!

Now lets see how the devs make this right, if they fail this is gonna hit them hard so they better know what they are doing here for real. I'm betting on YoshiP and rest of the dev team to keep up with my expectation I have from them.

I dont like this system, its in a game called Eden Eternal know as Taunt Mode (so its optional) and people just abuse it. Low lv atks first, high lv 1shots. Full EXP to low lv.
ah well this game has barely anyone playing might bring some people back.
Another good thing is linkshells wont need to pick 8 people to only do nms now, everyone can come as the reward is always gifted. So ya can take 25 peeps and go smash down a nm.
You know the game doesn't allow you to heal outside of the PT when they are fighting roaming NMs, right?
Claiming multiple mobs = good
Allowing outsides to join in = Why? Your claim your fight. Maybe we don't want help. If we wipe then that's our problem.
Goody now I can help people in a party against something if they need a little extra help!
It also removes possible challenging options
No more dangerous points (Raptors butts or in XI dragon tails) as people will just MPK to get claim.
No more mobs that heal based on actions (incorrect element or weapon skill) as people will just spam these to annoy others.
Maybe stuff like this people dont care, without it, its easy, hassle free.
What if you have your healers all hanging about then some tanks come and outdo hate, then pull NM/mob to healers to aoe kill them. More MPKing.
I just think its stupid. There are too many downsides. The only upside is you can help out others withing being in PT, as you cant invite during battle. You can bring an infinite amount of people to linkshell event rather than 8.
And of course the exploitable power levelling. I hit a rk x mob and a rk50 comes in and 1shots it, so long as i got first hit / claim i get all exp as if i soloed it!
