Most Memorable Moment in FFXIV

I would have to say my best memory ....

ok setting up the scene a bit.. 10 man party most 50, but a few still climbing. Fighting Uraeus for the 3rd time "no skin yet". So we are a bit undermaned.. knowing it's gonna come down to the wire on time...
We go balls deep into him.. BR after BR... killl kill killl... ok we got him down to about 10% left..
Mages are all out of MP.. times like at 3-5mins.And then.You knew it was coming.. buff's dropped, and wham! Everyone; but us 3 mages, dead (smart mages, always know there range).
With not a single second lost.. we all, with not a word said, run and stand front and center, popping barb as we move in... a breath attack!!!!! Smack! Barb popped his tail for the win.. all died but one sole mage with 200 hp left, and that got our LS the first skin..

it was why I play this game.. outstanding.

That's awesome! Sounds like good teamwork too.
I have to say it's have been every time I have logged in after feb patch. People seem happier, and we talk and go run leves together. I enjoy it. :)

that sounds like a lot of fun. I was wondering since you are R50.... is there a big lack of content only in the early levels? Under a certain rank and it gets better when near R50?

There's a mindblowing lack of content at all R levels, hence why SE is not charging a sub fee for FFXIV.

So I was running outside Uldah right? It was wonderous, stuff was nice, the little marmots were happy and were dying horrifically as low levels farmed them, I was just Autorunning to Camp Black Brush to get to the mines...

Then some sort of dragon ate my face off. It's the welcoming committee!

My most memorable moment was my first ferry ride from Limsa Lominsa to Ul'dah at night during a thuderstorm. It was breathtaking.

Nothing nearly as epic as your story OP. I have a lot of nice smaller memories, trying to make the best of the game I'm given to keep more positive memories coming.

Sisipu telling us Jumping is Pointless.

Great Buffalo. 12 Man, all Under 50 except the MRD tank. We basically had 10% of its health left and we had about 20 seconds left(tracking with defender). Someone types {Full Attack}. All of a sudden, No one is healing. 2 Defense down BRs casted, and then everyone goes crazy with weaponskills and magic.

No drop, but it was pretty insane. Most intense gaming moment :3

The day I discovered how much SP Coblyns gave for how fast I could kill them. And then when I discovered that there was such a thing as a Doblyn.

And one time i we killed Uraeus, with 8 people, and right before it died, I see on the battle Log "***** hit for 9999 points of damage."

that was close too.

You know what's really sad, is that I have been playing this game since CE launch (Alpha testing really) and I don't have any stand out memories or things that made go wow. I suppose the best thing for me so far was the final story mission, that was pretty cool. But to say out of 6 months of playing and not to have any great memories from it is pretty unsettling ; ;

hmmmmm, for me it would have to be the time our LS killed dodore 3 times in one spawn duration time and got 6 wings. Plus we mages found a new strategy during this time that pretty much cut our times on all multispawned NM's(Gob's, Mosshorn, and Dodore) Also got my doublet from that run, so it was a good day. :D But the only other thing to maybe tie that is when game first came out and in first week our whole LS(pre-made FFXIV LS) did a crystal run through all of world and got tons of camps the first week, but fleeing from crap 30 higher ranks then us, the lalafell made good decoys since the mobs thought they were children. O.o

LOL I did almost the same, and honestly, it was quite exciting, I was nearly closing my eyes in real life when passing near a mob that aggro. It took me well about an hour from Thanalan to the crystal in Mor Dhona, and I was looking at the mobs on fansites to see which one aggroed.

This, with the other posts on this thread, reflects well the need for challenge and danger to create excitement IMO, which is probably the most cruelly lacking content in the game at the moment.

nice.. yeah the usreaus kill started a oustanding pattern for us.. the next 4 times we killed him he dropped a skin every time, and couple where even +1's

I remember that world exploration/crystal run event we did and I agree, it was also one of my most memorable and pleasant moment in XIV. The other most memorable moment I have is the day nms were added to the game. We were exploring everywhere trying to find them, figure out how to beat them, their characteristic like spawn time, etc. The combination of exploration, competition(other ls where also trying it), strategy talk, trial and error and tension(unlike now since we had no idea how to fight them efficiently we were often on verge of wipe) made it one of my favorite time in XIV.

The first time I walked outside of Ul'dah, and the very first enemy I encountered was a desert peiste...

My fondest memory so far is with one of the events my LS held. It was a death race from Blue Frog to Camp Brittlebark. We all had to use a Naked R10 or less. We couldn't use any Skills or anything that would give an advantage. There was 12 of us or so. The only advantage you had was to use someone as a meatshield. Everything along that path aggros. Everything along that path can 1 shot you at that rank. It was intense. You think you are amost to Brittlebark, and then you get killed. I recommend any LS do this. It was alot of fun. Top prize was 1,000,000 Gil. Runners up got prizes too. I got a prize for "Most Determined" I tried for 1.5 hours but never made it. Too many people finished or gave up, and there wasn't enough meat shields left.
