Lucis Items should Glow

I know this is just a cosmetic effect, but I think Lucis weapons for crafters and gatherers should glow, like zodiak weapons and other glowing weapons. Maybe they could sparkle, or radiate an aura, it doesn't really matter. But Lucis means light, and there's a title of Light associated with getting these tools. They aren't easy to get either.

Nah, I'm good. I'm already burning my eyes looking for a Good condition on something that may or may not be a primordial sphere. Adding more glows on top of that would require me wearing an actual BSM/ARM visor.

was thinking about them making a glowing tool just yesterday but quickly realized how much that would distract from the condition procs. probably not gonna happen.

I glamored over every glowy stage of the relic weapon so I wouldn't appreciate this at all. I much prefer the direction of dyable weapons and that alone.

Agreed with Leadleaf. I love the dyable weapons/tools! The glowing effect, however, would be greatly distracting during the crafting process.

While I can't make any promises that it will be added to Lucis tools specifically, similar to the Zodiac weapons, we'll be looking into whether or not we can make it so the main tools for gathering and crafting have glowing effects.

The glow is horrible, the ONLY reason they should add it is if it is made OPTIONAL for ALL weapons with glows

No! Never! Unneeded! Fishing takes enough work as is without having to figure out the type of fish through a useless glow effect that's covering up the toggle light we now have. No more useless glows unless we can turn em off!

If it is to glow, please make sure it is a light that is more like a "shimmer" or a hint of it... Maybe something that runs just underneath the surface of the tool (throughout or just the handle) that can be seen. Tasteful. Not this omg-I'm-wielding-TheBigBang-plz-wear-visors-or-your-eyes-will-melt-like-those-dudes-in-RaidersoftheLostArk glow. :D Was that too much of a run-on? haha

Maybe It'll disturb to see the condition like is it Excellent or Good condition (Yeah I know there's progression bar but I don't really care with it).

Instead of a glow effect what about the weapon changing the animation when you HQ an item through gathering and successful?

Like instead of the ray burst animation you get when you HQ an item from gathering you would get an animation with a bunch of leaves bursting out from the strike zone (Botany), the other two could also follow the same route but with a water splash animation for fishing and a rock burst animation for mining.

For the crafting Lucis they could do something similar but what if the work bench changes with the Lucis crafting tools? Like for leatherworker instead of a shoddy little table you get a bigger table that looks more "professional". That way we'd still be able to see the item glow color but also lets people know you mean business--literally.

The very lore of the gathering class quests suggest that we be in harmony with the land and a glow would just not fit in in my opinion.

If I could have something special to show that I have a lucis tool, I would much prefer a unique model that is able to be dyed, and if you really want to go crazy give it a unique animation.


However, I recognize we all have different tastes, so if lucis tools do get a glow could you please also add a few unique models that we could glamour over them. Hell, make them craftables that are untradable upon successful synthesis.

I wouldn't want them to glow, at least not anything like we have with the zodiac weapons. The models are already different in some cases (at least my Cloth Lucis somehow became enormous) and they can be dyed to distinguish them.

If they add any sort of post effect to these I really hope you can turn it off or it's at least nice and subtle.

mainly i was thinking of when the weapon is unsheathed, not when its being used during the flashy crafting aspects. There is the "optional amplified flash" effect, such as when doing high quality, or when crafting elemental aligned gear or vintage stuff. For people who have Glowing weapons, they can glam to something that does not glow...
but crafters and gatherers, don't actually have anything glowing for a tool to choose from, and if they did, they could always glam it to some tool that didn't glow.

I would like the glowing, but not the novus glow, more like the i110 crafting weapon glow :D

That way everyone can win.

Next tier of the tools should require merging Lucis with Luminary, imho.

No glow please unless it is optional (not via glamour cos you lose the aspect supposed without the glow) something like /glowon /glowoff.

But please, no glows, at this rate might aswell have glowing enemies, NPCs, buildings, paths..... everything does not have to glow in this game...

^ agree.. there's no reason for these items to glow at all. They are already 100x the size of the normal tools and you can dye them. That's more than enough. I don't know why it's even being "considered". I see no point to a glowing crafting/gather tool. Unless you just want to go to mor dhona and stand idle in battle position with it?

I have no Lucis so it doesn't concern me, but I really don't think the glow would add anything good to crafting, I think it'd only get in the way.

Noticing there's some rep attention so posting again.
I made it known I dislike glowstages. If this has to happen I would prefer there be blankstat models of relics and previously achieved DoH/L tools for glamor available from the Calamity Salvager or similar npc.

I really don't want to see this happen.

Threads like this make me wish there weren't so many players that avoid this forum because of how bad the requests are, so they can speak up about how bad these requests are.

If I get 50 TT cards, can my cards start glowing too? A rating 285 chocobo can start shimmering as well. Can my HQ food glow as I'm eating it as well? Can mansions naturally glow now? Women with the biggest bosom setting have glowing bosoms?

No more stupid glow effects please.

Our characters should glow once we're level 60 in the expansion.

If they r gonna take the derp bright glowy route again they might as well make the tool match the item condition.
That way BOTH parties can win,
Good = red glowing tool
Normal = white glowing tool
Excellent = rainbowsssssss
Poor = black/ purple
SE can make it a ridiculous glow and still cater to ppl who think the glow will mess up their visual qeue procs.
On a less serious note
Why don't we have glowy character effects via prism items/ consumables that only last for a few seconds.

Good God no. I feel like glow effects are one of the few things in this game that make me think of really crappy F2P MMO's. And WoW. Like that horse with the shimmering hooves... looks so cheap and dumb and uninspired.

"Hey guys I've got this radical weapon design, how can I make it look da coolest?"
"How 'bout you add some glow? Kids are into that these days!"
"Oh gee thanks, 3 seconds of work and bam you've got the awzomest weapon evar!"

(Just imagine the above conversation, but in Japanese).

If this is added please make it optional. I already hate the glow on my Zodiac.

Oh ew no, I'm with all the people saying no to the glowing ..

And while we're at it, what the heck happened to that option to toggle off other people's weapon glows as well as your own, that Camate said the dev's were toying with a while back?

I would love to be able to disable those blasted weapon glows.. even though I still thank everything I might daily that things at least don't light up while sheathed.
