Question on melding Crafting Gear

At the moment my crafting gear across most of my classes consists of;

MH: Artisan
OH: Militia HQ - no melds
Artisan Glasses
AF Body HQ - partially melded
Artisan Hand/Legs/Feet HQ - max melded
Dodore/Rose Gold/Mosshorn/Militia accessories HQ - Max melded

I got an Artisan Apron HQ and am looking into what to meld into it. I know that it is impossible to max meld because of the 5 slot limitation. And when I asked a friend, he said that what I meld into the body is dependent on what I meld into my offhands. Upgrading my offhands is my next step which I will be looking into doing soon but seeing as I have neither melded, I figured I am in a good position to plan the melds to be complimentary.

So my question is what is the best or ideal melding options for Artisan Apron and Artisan Offhands that work together while still being feasible. I don't think I can afford the risk of quad melding IVs onto offhand tool with only one guaranteed meld. But would still like to get the best result I can.

If the caps are the same as the militia, you want to max CP on your offhand, then it becomes a Control dump when you have the extra control material. I don't know what the max cp is, but start off with a IV, then II until you cant meld more, then work on dumping Control IIIs, IIs, and Is as you see fit. I think that's what he meant by it depends on your OH what you dump into your Body piece.

This is not the only way to do it. It depends on what you need to be able to produce the next level. My melds are enough for me to produce 4 star gear with the Supra. The Lucis just boosts my stats even higher.

Apron : Craft IV, Craft IV, Control IV, CP III, Control II
Artisan Offhands : Craft IV, Craft IV, Craft III, Control III, CP III

Note that you should be looking at making the Supra, and the Artisan offhand tools. If you have the stats to make them right now, then do so! If not, then start melding such that you can. Once you can make them, do not meld the offhand until you see what else you need to put onto the Apron and the offhand in order to craft 4 star stuff.

Once you hit those stats, then start crafting the stuff for the Lucis, IMO. Going from the Supra to the Lucis gets me from 458 Craft, 415 Control, 355 CP to 489 Craft, 429 Control, 355 CP.

Lucis is now only 80k gc seals and 300 hunt seals. Go get it while it's ezpz

80k GC seals .. and 3k allied seals, EACH. Not sure where you got 300 from.

I think I'm gonna stick with Madman's Whispering Rods, and whatever stuff I can get from dungeons to hand in.

With HQ Artisan OF melded Command IVx2 & Craftsmanship IIIx3, I have exactly the required stats (1 extra command) for 4 star synthesis when wearing max melded AF1 (minus head slot which is upgraded to spectacles). Edit [Supra MH, max melded BiS Belt & Jewelry]

I did not / will not buy craftable gear.

I plan to craft my own 1 class at a time. Slower process but I'm in it for the signature at the bottom of the item description window.

@Roth_Trailfinder What does +3 CP on the OH allow rotation wise? I was not aware a soft cap on CP could be broken with just 3~ extra CP, all 4 star rotations I use actually leave me with quite a lot of CP left over, since these 3.9/4stars are so dependent on lucky RNG: red procs/HT success.

I find that on some rotations that don't allow for many Tricks, it helps. Ever been left with 17 CP at the end? 1 more would have allowed the conversion of a Hasty into a Basic. Or the inclusion (or switch from Observe to Innovation) as a Good bait.

For some 40 Durability recipes, that only take 2 CS2's, those extra 3 CP allow me to do that. Without those 3 CP's, I'm required to have a Tricks, and my rotation for those only gives me 4 chances to get a Tricks in before I'm done with the Hasty Touches altogether.

Not everything is geared towards 4 star stuff.

I don't think he's flaming you..

Correct.

I was pointing out that it takes 3k AS, not 300, per Lucis tool. And I was saying that the Madman's Whispering Rods are what I'm going to continue to make so I can exchange them for GC Seals.
