So after you run a dungeon for Zodiac Items constantly over and over again for like 10x seeing the exact same set of enemies, kinda got me to wondering how cool it would be if the mob parties were randomized with each given instance.
How likely would it be for us to see a more shuffled randomized processing of certain dungeon mob groups in future dungeon/battleleve/guildhest/raid content?
Is it something that can even be considered based on how things are currently being implemented with XIV:ARR?

I don't think it would really change anything. Trash mobs are always going to be trash. They are not complex to fight and never will be.

Worse still, no matter how "Random" their spawn positions were, run it for the 100 millionth time and you'll start seeing repeats as you notice the spawn pattern. Computers can't do "Random" so the spawn pattern would just be RNG like every thing else "Luck Based" in this game.

A pointless notion much like the guy who was talking about having boss dialogue and things like that. The majority of people just don't really care they run things because they have to not because they want to and they want to get it done as quick as possible. Being used to which trash waves to go through and what they are makes for quicker runs. No matter where trash spawns it's still going to be boring that's just the nature of trash which exists to slow you down and make a dungeon last longer. The only true way to enjoy a new experience is when new content is released.

I agree, it would be very cool.
Certain enemy types together could make it overly hard or impossible, though. Certain types of mobs would need to be flagged as "No more than 1/2" or something like that (thinking specifically of caster-type mobs with hard nukes that hit a tank for 1/3rd their health).
I really like this idea. A simple solution that goes miles in spicing dungeons up on the 20th reentry.

I like speedrunning dungeons. It is fun. But having things like semi-randomized enemy camps would keep a 20th run interesting somewhat; and Boss quotes gives the bosses we fight some personality. -

Well I'm not knocking speedruns at all; I doubt it would change much either. Just feel like there's so much potential wasted on this particular kind of direction.
Whether the enemy party is randomized or not, I think a simple change in 'rarity' of appearance of certain mob types would even be welcome at this point. Maybe they can be like 'bounty' mobs or something where they actually drop rarer items or loot (kinda how SEGA did with phantasy star online style maybe). You know, since the XIV community needs incentive to waste their time doing stuff and all that jazz.
You know just to keep things slightly interesting. -

SE could always give the bosses new abilities depending on the parties average ilvl. At the minimal ilvl, the boss will keep its current skill set we're used to, but say if the entire party is over i110, then in dungeons like Haukke Manor (where your level is synced to i110)...
- The Imp could have more spells up his sleeve (Tornado, Burst, Quake, Flare, Flood and Freeze. Massive damage + DoTs)
- Ash... the Taurs which get summoned could all have a Mortal Gaze (avoidable by turning away) which buff Ash if he's also facing the Taurs
- Halicarnassus... honestly, she's fine as is because too much DPS can cause the party to wipe (though I suppose giving her Flare II and Burst II to replace Fire IV and Thunder IV couldn't hurt. Massive damage + status effects. Flare II causes Pyretic and Firescorched -instant death if hit by an AoE fire spell-. Burst II is an AoE spell that hits all players and inflicts a random player with Thunderstruck -player with the status ailment will 'explode' and deal damage to anyone near them as well as paralyse them).
Just a something something that can make dungeons different/fresh per run. The bosses will not have buffed attack, defence or HP. So while they will appear threatening with new attacks, they won't be Coil/Pharos Sirius 2.1 levels of difficult (but may make people panic a little). -

I've never seen an AoE attack that made me go straight from "Charge!!" to "FLEEEE!!!" since pre Echo T1 in coil. (pre echo in vanilla 2.0 I was trying to battle the ADS with dark light gear and bad stats. (Fortunately I've realized since then that DRGs should avoid skill speed like the plague) But back then I was an MMO noob on top of being semi-new to FF14. (I am a legacy player but I never made it to level 18 on my starter class before 1.23b ended and the servers shut down for good.)Quote:
