Hoping this will help the Dev team see the massive amount of things they still need to fix a year later. I will cross them off as they are added and add new ones as they are suggested. If they Dev team needs more details about any of these please contact me. It's been a year hire more people or let us do the fixing for you. At this rate it's going to take you 5 years to fix this game. 150+ THINGS they need to add or fix. Lots of them are small annoyances they can fix easy to make the game more fun and attract more players. If it weren't for hundreds of things that are annoying more people would play this. I promise. This list has been composed over the last year with much help and it will continue to change and evolve with the game. Dev pay attention to this topic. Get more of this stuff on your TOP PRIORITY list and add to you time table and tell us when it will be fixed or added. If another year goes by and there are still 100+ things to fix you will have a very angry community. Get more people on the job.
Commands
1.) Allow /target [name]
2.) Allow /lsmes "Hello World!"
3.) Need commands like: <bt>
4.) /played or /playtime - /idle - /idletime
5.) Allow /assist command
6.) Allow /invite [Player Name] (We do this because the current add command is long and stupid)
7.) Allow us to /check mobs and reply in text with difficulty
8.) /check - should show Linkshell name, Physical level and Job level.
9.) Allow /anon
10.) Allow a /browse command
11.) Provide search functions like XI "/sea all 75 SAM" <> "/sea all 50 CON"
12.)Do emotes without putting it in chatlog "/noemote Dance"- A list of /commands in game somewhere with a description of what they do.

1.)Mail system: NPC or environmental DodadThey said they would do this but it's not on a time line like will be in by 1.22 Unknown what features the mail system will bring but I hope they confirm the following

1.) 1 Hour delivery time? Able to send Items, gil and Messages.
a.) Player Lockers / Mail Box pick up.
b.) For instant mail and an extra gil fee a mail man or choco NPC will deliver instantly to player when they log on or wherever they are.
2.) Add Repair NPC's at camps.
3.) Allow character re-customization in game (barber/tattoo shop, etc)
4.)Allow people to Seek for party like in 11They said they would do this but it's not on a time line like will be in by 1.22

Jump, and it will cancel spell casting
mail system
zone redesigns and weather changes
barber shops
animation when going passive while walking/running
drag and drop feature for actions on the bars (plus ability to show 3 bars)
Changes to the regimen system
Player Housing, although we got no specific plans, we know it's coming
A AoE indication for spells
A system where it remembers your action bars for each classes so you don't have to redo it over everytime
Abiltiy to see the friends and LS member's location along with various other features
confirmed a definite no on sneak/invi spells for battle classes
And probably other stuff you listed is already in motion to be fixed.
Like I said, I agree for the most part but no need to make the list so long when half of it is already being fixed/addressed. -

Solve the problem for keyboard/mouse players where using the up and down arrows changes targeting mode instead of switching between action bars. It's very annoying and dangerous in a tough fight.

08-25-2011, 02:13 PMDonMegayeah thats why they keep FFXI servers on and make new content for it because ppl aren't playing it lol yeah right, this game was released about 9 years after FFXI and didn't even have legs to stand on, the crafting, tele system and gathering was about the only good thing it had, the battle system was a spam fest and it also lack in basic functions that FFXI had such as LS function, search function and a very unclear party search function on top of very poor client/server communication and very taxing system performance and no freaking chocobos and airships. there are plenty of good things that should have been took from FFXI battle content and event content aside but yet wasn't for some reason. Don't know what happen there but it was a dumb mistake and like it or not you'll see alot of those features come back.Quote:

Dude, Tanaka wasn't fired...he was moved back to FFXI due internal pressure you know. Someone HAD to pay for the terrible release...and as producer it was part of his duty to take responsability for this...even if the forced release of an incomplete game was also due the very same internal pressure. To haste the game release in like 6 months (by how it was i bet the original release date would be arond march of this year instead of septemper/2010) they actually lost like 1 year of subscriptions and might be losing another year still since will take time for the new FFXIV to become acceptable.
And yep i am forcing myself to play it...at least for me 50 bucks is a decent amount of money to go to a waste...and since i bought it i also have the right to complain about it here...and if you think complaining won't get me anywhere then its because you have no idea what you're talking about...my "complaints" already got dozen of positive changes in this game and many others already listed at last letter to happen. ^^
Also, not all games need the very same funcionalities...think its cool PW using the very same core system in every MMO? Nop, its not...it might be good for players from older games that already know the functionalities, but for the game itself its bad...it depreciates the uniqueness of the game...but it will be only really noticeable later on, when people start calling it FFXI-clone just like they already do with Rift, calling it WoW-clone. Rift has no identity...and i do am afraid FFXIV might end exactly like it.
And on a side note: Tanaka is a genius. He does is one of the great minds of SE and people should respect it. You just can't expect a playerbase of a bunch of 12~18 years-old people, with most of them having from low to no experience in the area, fully understand what he had in mind when the game was released...specially since he actually had the chance of doing just 1 version update before being moved from producer position. -

Key items here that suck the enjoyment out of the game for me are:
Guildleve Reset Timers- Please, I'm begging you, if you're listening SE just remove the limit and let us do as many as we want. This would be so much more fun.
Gear Repair- I can appreciate the need to make a demand for crafters but this is not the way to do this.
Anima Regeneration- Argh, you guys are so frugal with replenishing points. How about an item that gives us a free teleport per day at least.
Party Search Functions- This is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game yet I have no way of finding a party. Why isn't this on the TOP of your list. Instead we get bikinis?!
Please, with all do respect, I love this game, but these simple changes would make so many players return and existing players have more FUN. This is a game after all. -

To OP: There are so many things on this list that have been mentioned by others on this forum. I really don't think you need to make a list for the community or for the community reps because they have read it and passed it on before your posting. Yet also, there are many things on your list that already exist, have been already fixed, or already mentioned fixes in forthcoming updates.
I think instead of wasting the community reps' time (and your own) and giving the creatives behind FFXIV such a hard time, maybe you should consider doing your research before writing up an enraged list. :D
That all aside, I agree with Lienn the most here. I would like to play FFXIV, not FFXI. To me there is a big difference between the word 'fun' and 'easy'. -

I like the sound of most of this... Though I must highly disagree with the 'click to move'... I'd be accidentally moving all over the effing place like a schizophrenic gerbil every time I was trying to click some elusive player or some far away NPC. Moving around is easy enough without having to click to do it.

Punainen click to move should be an option just like it is in other MMO's so the people who want it can have it and those that don't, don't have to worry about it. I'm all about options 50% of this stuff is really just adding options and the other 50% is content, making the game more fun and not so annoying and there is a little bit of just obvious optimization or complete overhaul stuff that needs to be done. Thanks for the feedback so far guys keep them coming. I will keep this list up to date and bumped until everything is fixed or I've gotten an answer of no way no how working as intended.
