New player asking some questions.

Ok so first off i am pretty new to the game and i love it, i am almost lvl 50 on Scholar and i have some questions for the more experienced healers/scholars out there.
1. I Macroed Rouse+Illumination+Dawn but it doesnt work properly, if i do any action in that time the fairy will stop the macro, also if there is a party member below 70% Eos will stop the Macro and use Embrace on them, how can i make this work properly?
2.My heals are not that great atm , i heal 670-710 physick, and 460-500 adlo and the other i had a premade tank+ dps in the 49 dungeon , Vale was the name? Anyway so they bashed me the whole dungeon how low my heals are and how i should stop queueing with so low heals like that because i am just ruining other ppl runs, What is a good number to have on those heals at lvl 50? Succor heals arround 240 too and embrace 400ish

3.When i hit 50 and wish to farm some lvl 50 dungeon to get some better gear for myself will i get instantly kicked from the group just because my gear sucks and i am just at the limit ?
4.I want some tips to improve my gameplay what i usually do before a pull is this:i put adlo on tank and succor on everyone else than i use my macro Cleric stance bio 2 miasma bio cleric stance and than use a physick and an adlo on the tank. The fairy i move it manually near the tank and if the tank is really gettin low i cast rouse illuminate and dawn also i put 1 sacred soil up on every pull.
That's pretty much it and i am sorry for my noobish questions :/ would really apreciate if someone could help me out tho.

1. The reason why some macro's dont work is because there is animation delay. So sometimes when you want to use macro's you have to do a <wait.x>(x being # of seconds) at the end of the macro line. ALSO if you want to manually use the skills your pet has, they have to be set to Obey for a macro to work. You cant turn off that 70% heal thingy on Eos, you'll just have to let it finish its cast and resume what you want it to do.

2. Your healing numbers seems pretty normal to me? As long as your using the current level weapon that you can get. Adloquem does heal for a bit less than physick but it gives a shield buff for the amount healed for. Its probably something lower level tanks or dps don't understand just yet. Same thing can be said for succor. Scholars are no White mage when it comes to big aoe heals. That being said, you are in Aurum Vale, pretty big damages come in that dungeon for low levels. Especially that first room.

3. For the earlier level 50s, your artifact gear (which is given at the lv45 job quest) should be sufficient. Early lv50s meaning like Wanderer's Palace, Amdapor Keep, Haukke Manor Hard and Copperbell Hard. Crystal Tower: Labyrinth of the Ancients is good as well. You can try for things like Brayflox Longstop Hard, Halatali Hard and Lost City of Amdapore for lv70 gear. Dont forget though, once your lv50, you can farm soldiery tomes for lv100 gear if you so wish.

4. Im not a SCH main so i cant give you gameplay tips, All I know is the basics of healing. Buff the tank b4 a pull > Heal. Seeing that you even tried to dps is a plus o3ob

I don't play scholar, but I can tell you, don't use any combat macros. Incredibly unreliable, as you have noticed.

^What he said. I main SCH for my FC and static and I will second that you should NEVER EVER EVER create dps macros. They don't work. Also, don't macro too many skills together at once.

I would just stick to Rouse + Whisper, with several lines of whisper, to make sure it goes off (with or without wait cmds is fine).

The strength of your heals sounds fine for a fresh/near 50, I would say that you are just meeting unpleasant people. Try not to let them get to you, everyone was new once.

Now, I know some people will disagree with my next statement, but I will stand by it to the death: Do not macro Embrace to any of your skills. Your fairy's GCD is longer then yours, so you will get out of sync very fast.
Locking Embrace to your GCD removes so much of your flexibility: you can set up a manual Embrace macro to get the fairy to heal one target, while you heal another, or you can let the fairy top up the dps while you focus on healing the tank/DPSing.

Adding my voice to the choir: macros like the one you described are bad, anyway. If you must have Fey Illumination and a Roused WD, hitting the commands in sequence works fine and allows you to adjust for AI behavior if necessary.

Your heal numbers sound level-appropriate. Just be sure that you aren't accidentally healing with Cleric Stance activated.

Sacred Soil will become less useful to you in lvl 50 content where you have access to Lustrate and Shadow Flare. Soil is more for mitigating huge, scripted raid damage and is otherwise shelved so that stacks can be spent on Lustrate or so that you can have Shadow Flare up instead.

2. First we have to look at upgrades. Your healing right now is about average for your level, however there are a few things you can look out for.

Your weapon is actually the first thing you should look at upgrading, although it may sound strange the Magic Damage from a weapon as well as the Mind increase is one of the biggest factors for how much we heal for. So I would focus on getting a higher level weapon. Next would be Chest/Legs, followed by Hands/Feet/Head, then Belt, and finally jewelry. Or whatever you can grab from dungeons as an upgrade.

Don't worry about Secondary Stats such as Determination, Crit, or Spell Speed for now. You want the most Mind you can find out of any piece of gear once you hit 50. You can worry about Secondary Stats if and when you decide to take on harder content (such as Coil, Extreme Primals, etc). There are plenty of helpful tips and guides on the subject in these forums for what you should go after as a healer (be it whm or sch).

Although having just checked your lodestone profile, your gear is actually fine for your level at the moment. I've healed in worse during my progress to 50. My upgrade tips still stand though as you hit 50.

3. You won't get kicked, but you must tell the group that you are a brand new 50 and big pulls should probably be avoided. There are people who like to do Speed Runs through dungeons and they will run through entire sections pulling every single enemy they see, and then AE it all down. As a brand new level 50 Scholar more then likely you won't be able to handle this until you get some better gear, so be aware of that.

4. Succor usually isn't needed for your group before a pull, even most bosses its not an issue because it will fall off well before any AE damage happens (typically, not always). Adlo on the Tank before a pull is fine. DPS wise this is up to you and how comfortable you feel with the tank. Although the earlier dungeons are far easier to just let your Fairy heal for the most part, some of the higher dungeons can hit a bit harder, and tanks aren't always well geared. You already cast Sacred Soil at the start, which isn't necessary but does help especially with under geared tanks.

Fairy placement is also one of those on-the-go type things. Not all fights are as forgiving to your fairy and it will be more or less trial and error to where you can or can't place your fairy. For the most part I've always kept mine following me in dungeons, unless a particular boss fight got it killed that way. However they are resilient little buggers and can take quite a bit of punishment.

As a side note, you also want to get your Cross-Class skills in order to help you out a little more. Here are the recommended Cross-Class skills for a scholar. In no particular order here we go:

Cleric Stance - Which you already have.

Protect - Although it doesn't come with the added magical defense, it does help.

Swiftcast - You will need to level your Thaumaturge up to level 26 in order to get this one, once used, this will make your next spell instant cast. This is mostly used to Raise people who have died in combat (such as during a boss). Can also be used for other things, but for the most part SCH will save it to get people back up.

Stoneskin - Conjurer level 34 spell. While not required, it does help give a little more mitigation before a pull, or on boss fights where you know there's AE damage, but Succor won't last long enough to help block the damage.

Surecast - Probably the least used Cross-Class spell in the bunch, this will allow your next spell to be cast without interruption. Basically if you have some enemies beating on you, or a particular boss move you know interrupts your casting, you can use this before you throw out your next spell. Again this one isn't used very often, but it can be useful in the right situation.

Those are the main 5 you want, you can also add in Aero for extra DoT damage. Cure obviously isn't needed because you have Physick, they are identical to each other. Raise also isn't needed since you have Resurrection instead.

Yes i did notice when i do that Cleric stance and DoTs macro and try to cancel it by turning off cleric stance manually so i can heal the tank at the end i automatically cast cleric stance again which puts me inside it again and i have to turn it off a 2nd time, and now I binded Illumination and Dawn to my keyboard and use them in succesion and indeed it works MUCH MUCH better.

AV is notorious for killing groups because it has one of the first "do this mechanic or die" fights.

Don't get discouraged, and remember the Adlo is a more potent heal compared to Physick.

Av is kind of a toughy. You don't have your lvl 50 skills and things can hit hard. Your numbers sound about right though for a lvling SCH in there and should be capable of healing it.

Adlo like the above poster said is your highest throughout heal if the tank is taking heavy damage. Also a roused whispering dawn can help with single target healing if the tank is getting massive damage from a big pull. Even though it's an AOE heal, if you need to eek out more single target healing it helps. 1 min is a short cooldown so use liberally if addition healing (single target or AOE) is needed.

Lastly eye for an eye, virus and even sacred soil (since no lustrate) can be used to reduce damage be a decent amount. 10% is noticable and every bit helps if you are struggling. I remeber that one being roughy first time through too so don't sweat it too much just look at your tools and see where you can get more out of your kit if needed!

As said above, AV really steps up the difficulty on parties. Many, MANY DPS and tanks take unnecessary damage from the coincounter. And he hits like a truck, as well as adding some nasty paralyze effects if you get hit.

Don't sweat it. SCH takes a bit more effort to be really good at in high level content than WHM does. And good players will help you to learn, not rag on you because they think you are not very good.

A bunch of people have answered most of your questions, but I figured I’d chime in on scholar tips. Typically, you’ll find that tips are only helpful for specific fights. But there are some things I can recommend.
1. You are not a White Mage. People will say you have weak heals. People will tell you to do what White Mages do. You are not one! You are a mitigation healer.
2. Shields are your friend. Adlos that crit will keep you from having to heal. But be careful about using too many Adlos or Succors. We have great mana regen, but these skills drain your mana.
3. Use fairy macros as little as possible. The better you get at controlling her manually the better healer you are. If you use macros keep them simple. The more complex the macro the more likely it is to fail
4. Know which fairy to use for which situation.
5. Manage your Aetherflow properly and you will never have mana issues.

You are getting great tips here. You already seem to have a good grasp of your class. I want too add in the fairy range for embrace is shorter than the tool tip says so if it feels like you are falling behind look to see if your fairy is in range or just sitting doing nothing.

Your fairy will be heal much more efficiently when placed. She will stop casting to move if she is left on follow. She constantly adjusts herself to remain at a specific spot behind your shoulder so even when you are standing still she continues to move as you rotate your char.

Most dungeons you don't need to worry about placing her but try to get used to doing it for boss fights anyway as it is a very bad habit to break once you start raiding.

Oh another thing I forgot to mention. A lot of scholars like to combine Rouse+Fey Illumination+ Whispering Dawn. But honestly in all but the most dire situations this is completely unnecessary. Fey has twice the cooldown of both Rouse and WD so if you rely on chaining the three you will end up losing total healing power. A rouse whispering dawn combo will be effective in 9/10 situations so its best to use those in combination because they have the same cooldown of 60 seconds. If shit hits the fan you want to make sure you have Fey Illumination off cooldown so you can heal your party. If you burn it every time its up to improve Rouse whispering dawn then you could really burn yourself if you need it in the next two minutes while you wait on its cooldown.
