Spring ends in June, so unless they get delayed it shouldn't be released that late.

Considering that we get big updates roughly 3-4 months apart, I wouldn't expect the expansion to be released later than May.

Interesting. I would not have expected this until after the PAX EAST panel.

My guess is right now Pre-Orders are only open for the Standard Version and it's after PAX east that we'll get the CE's pre-order's up. Would not surprise me.

At least its only 40USD not 60

Only advantage of getting the download is you can play right away on launch day. Getting the disc means you going to have to wait for shipping, but then you have the disc for reinstalling.

No pre-order bonuses?

Not necessarily. I recall some time go, that they were considering access codes for physical copies for this very reason.

the PC digital collectors edition download price will likely be $59.99. <--I'm speculating based on the release price difference between the regular and CE ARR prices
the physical collectors edition includes a statue and the box doubles as a display case for it, which will jack up the price considerably likely to $100 or more

Yup. They said they are looking into how to make ti so that people that order physical still get to play on day one while waiting for their package.

Have they said whether or not the expansion will include 30 days of game time, similar to the base game?

I will wait untill the CE version goes on the store and they also share with us the release date. Cant wait till Pax East.

Doubt that this will happen. I haven't played an expansion yet that has done this.

So this makes it 40 euros for Europe. They will follow the WoW pricing model. It's a bit expensive considering the game's population which is far less than WoW's but that's just me. I really hope the expansion will come with 30 days of game time inside or else we have to pay 50+ in the same month to buy both the expansion and the subscription. I hope we will get all the pricing and launch details during PAX.

Talked to the dude I trust at Gamestop 2 weeks ago when I was buying Dying Light, if you plan on getting a physical disc from a store I would pre-order it and put your $5 down now. He said they are not anticipating high sales so they are not going to keep many in stock.

I pretty much expect this. According to PAX's site, the only thing that is listed for SE to talk about there is the expansion. March is also usually considered to be the start of the spring season, so it does make sense for them to announce a spring time release then. Also consider that PAX is roughly 3 weeks before the launch of the final installment of the 2.5 content patch. It stands to reason, that by its launch, we would know pretty much everything about the expansion by then.

I bet its gonna be something along the lines of giving a code for a 14 - 20 day expansion trial pass. Hopefully your package will arrive after 14 days right? XD

A good selling point, yes. But it does seem unlikely. It's not something that I think has ever happened in any MMO expansion for any game, ever.

No reason they couldn't start. They recently pulled a number of players back with the free weekend (I was one), but with an expansion in 2 months, it leaves me less excited if I have to dump $40 and $13 in the same month. I may just say 'eh' and move on when the expansion comes out if that is what happens. But including 30 days I think goes a long way to showing good will towards the playerbase.

Same. If it is indeed coming out in spring, we are one month away from the start of spring, so a release date and presale should start by March. That would be ideal I'd imagine.

No, you're right. It would certainly entice new players if they got a free month for buying the 2.0 version and a free month for buying the expansion.

This is why I always fully pay for a copy when I pre-order something. I know I'm going to buy it so pay now pay later I just pay now.

Guaranteed, I paid 111 for my ps3 CE at launch after taxes and shipping.

waiting on EU price....but yeah 39.99€ :( unfair

just paid $140 for Type-0 HD CE. thanks for limiting them to only some retailers so I have to import it from Murica.

SE games collector's editions have been exclusive to the SE store for awhile now. I don't think we will be seeing the CE in other stores because they would of let you preorder by now.

Erm. If I pay for it and it's being shipped to me I expect a full activation code. But yeah 14 days sounds about right - though as the CE is a large bulky thing it could take longer hehe(I tend to get most games in 14 days(infact that was the longest I ever waited for any to arrive - due to holidays all over the place at the time).

So that's only for Pc :P ?

I want to pre-order at gamestop but still waiting for an announcement of CE so till then I'm like mehhhhhhhhhh.
