When do we think Final Coil Lockout is getting removed?

Been doing T10-13 for a while now and the RNG related to drops is frustrating, I'd much rather just farm these particular turns until I get what I need. Try to beat my previous record when I get nothing from coil becomes kind of aggravating haha. When do you guys think the lockout will be removed?

My guess is 3.0 Heavenwards because if they unlocked it now, people will farm and get everything and quit the game. The game is vertical progression, the top tier gears will always get a lockout until a new Raid is coming. And that new tier is probably the new Alexander, but then FCOB is gonna be useless and for glamour only just like in the past.

I honestly hope it's soon, for the benefit of those that have been farming the turns. I just got my T12 clear a few days ago and I got hella lucky with the drop there, so I can't really complain at all. @_@

3.0, they mentioned a new type of raid to replace coil with Alexander(?) story - hopefully they come up with a better loot system

And like all previous coils, new tier = old stuff loot unlocked and eventually more and more echo

They did mention a Token system where you trade in a certain amount if you don't get the drop.

Once the next step of locked out content is introduced.

T9 was unlocked prior to Final Coil being introduced so I don't think it'll be as far back as some of you all might think, but I'm just hoping for something sooner rather than later. We've had Final Coil for a few months now and it's tiresome getting belts after belts after belts after belts haha.

They should remove it as soon as possible since the expansion is coming and will make the gear extremely useless. We should get at least some time to enjoy it.

Nobody knows how they're handling the gear in the expansion. There's no guarantee it'll be 'extremely useless'.

It would be silly if they decided to keep level 50 gear useful at level 60. I would imagine you could use it for leveling but once you hit 60 you need get new gear.

Would be kinda cool if it was unlocked a bit before expansion. Was cool when you farm 2nd coil and get what u wanted after lock was removed. Then again all dreadwyrm gear is fugly as hell + useless at 3.0. Might aswell unlock asap, and we could actually use it, instead of getting nothing but caster gear every week....no1 is gonna want to go back into fcob for vanity, but plenty go scob for vanity still. What a shame.

Probably a month before expansion is released. They will encourage us to gear up all our classes before expansion hits.

Since the next end game raid will be released during the expansion, it would be nice if they removed the lockout a few weeks prior to the end raid's launch. That being said, I don't expect this to be done at all. But, hey, you could go back to the Coils for glamour gear (some of that High Allag stuff looks really nice).

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't during an expansion pre-launch event. 3.0 at the latest, though.

Just speculation here but I think the final coil lockout will get removed in late March with patch 2.5 part 2, which will give people like a month or 2 before 3.0 comes out and a chance to gear up more easily in final coil gear before it becomes useless in 3.0 with the release of new level 60 gear.

Removing the lock when the Alexander raid comes out in 3.0 doesn't make sense because nobody will want to do final coil for useless lv50 gear once 3.0 is out and new level 60 cap gear is available.

zumi has it right. sorry guys but 3.0 is not like a 2.6 content patch with new turns would have been. its a complete new endgame. lvl 50 gear wont matter for more than 1 day once you reach 60 thats for sure. NOBODY will go and still do fcob once they can level up instead. if the devs are not retarded they will remove the lockout about 1 or 2 months before heavensward starts so people actually CAN enjoy thier final coil gear before it becomes obsolete. anyone who thinks a lvl cap is not going to reset gears is just plain wrong or extremely optimistic on this case. when 2.4 and 2.2 were released it was diffrent : reason the old coil gear still helped you on the new coil turns. tough with a lvl cap increase this is not gonna help you do jackshit on alexander. threating it the same way was before would be utterly stupid by the devs. people wont quit the game 1 month before the addon launches just because they finish thier gear.

I'd say before the expansion. Maybe 2.56.

Things work on ilvl, not lvl to equip, as for all I know - new dungeon gear may just be lvl50-60 to equip but ilvl110, and raid gear ilvl150 if SE still decide to follow the trend, which is still preservable.

Because almost every mmo does a gear reset whenever they raise the level cap including FFXI.

I have yet to see any mmo where they use the previous level caps raid gear to down the new level cap raid. More like they make you grind a new level 60 dungeon set then go into the level 60 raid.

Almost all MMOs with gear treadmill does it. iLvl 130 will most definitely be out dated before you even hit Level 60.
