Doing rank S hunt marks on PS3

Is nearly impossible. Even with all rendering configuration and spell effects set to minimum you can't target the boss.

Not only hunts, but all content that requires multiple parties like Odin, World fate bossses. Even the CT raid is a problem for ps3 users.

I can't even imagine to do frontline in this system

I'm getting PS4 this friday, finally. But for the PS3 users: "I know that feel bro"

Even on a gaming PC, it can be hard to target the boss. Sometimes my combos don't link up either.

Bonnacon is easily the worst out of all of them. So many red rings of death at that one.

PS3 on S ranks right now is punishment squared. Good luck to you.

As far as I'm aware this is only a visual issue. After double checking that I was not actually missing the S rank, I tried continuing combos that had seemingly stopped and those abilities still dealt full damage. More than once have I seen heavy swing not trigger the combo indicator on skull sunder but after using skull sunder anyway, it correctly showed butcher's block's combo indicator.

I tend to suggest to PS3 players that complain in shout chat about not being able to get any credit on the mark to just not bother with hunts at all. Its a really shitty thing to say but its the truth.

Ahh. Well, that's good to know. I'll stop spamming Fast Blade till I get the glowybox then. xD

I'm on ps3 and don't usuallysee the target, the most i can do is run around casting bliz 2 and hope I hit something :) that is if they haven't already killed it by the time it takes me to load in after teleporting...

My wife plays on PS3 and its hilarious how bad it is. Only thing I can suggest aside from the standard AOE spam is using a macro that attacks target of target and lock onto someone who actually can see the enemy. Works 90% of the time.

One way is , if you have time to up whm to 50 , even without seeing the boss you can spam medica2, throw a holy or 2 at the place you think the boss is ^^ , use bénédiction and medica 2 again .Be in a full team of course ^^.

The trick to getting credit on a boss is to deal at least a bit of damage to it.

To that end, if you have any ground-targetted or PBAoE attacks - for instance, Holy, Blizzard II, Shadow Flare, Arm of the Destroyer, Flash, Steel Cyclone, Death Blossom, Flaming Arrow... (I assume Dragoon has something they can use too, it's the clast I know the least) - you can cast these where you think the hunt probably is and tag it and get credit. Of course you won't get much, but if you're in a party it should work. I don't think every class has these, but several of them do - something you can cast without a visible target.

The trick to actually getting enough credit is to Flash spam. Or Medica 2 spam. Having DPS class in your team when you are having trouble rendering the S rank mark is problematic because they can't aim, and they can't generate enough aggro.

Upgrade the HD to an SSD and your S ranking hunting problems (along with slow loading into zones) are solved. I recommend not standing in the pack of the horde as the monster can disappear for a moment.

Yep, I always suggest targeting someone you CAN see (that's not a healer) and using a <tt> macro with one of your instant attacks. That way you'll get the requisite one hit in at least. I suggest a macro cause this problem comes up with nearly every hunt. Put it on some out of the way xbar.

Don't you still need to deal some sort of numerical damage? You could spam medica all you want and rip aggro, but you won't get credit if you don't aero the boss. ...At least it didn't for me.
