Just a shout out to all those on the East Coast who felt that 5.8 earthquake from Va. Hope all are ok.
5.8 is nothing, Denver had a quake too <____>
Rather, Colorado*
Could be felt in GA too. Hubbie just gave me a call about it.
We had lots and lots of rain here, 2012 coming closer? xD
Wow it was that big? I felt it in western MD, it was actually kinda neat <.<;; I hope everyone's alright though :o
Btw: wtf is up with the weather this year? Im starting to be less skeptical of 2012 having been hit by heavy storms, crazy heat, TORNADOS (an F1 went over my HOUSE, I SAW it.), and now an earthquake.
Inb4 monstrous blizzard makes me play XIV for weeks straight during the winter!
Oh yeah that's right they had an EQ out in Colorado I heard that this morning. 180 from Denver if I'm not mistaken?
Oh and I know 5.8 isn't much for most states/countries that get them but on the East Coast, it's not as "normal" to get them lol.
I'm in Jersey, was just some minor swaying. From what I've heard, things are fine.
Baltimore here only shook the house for 10 seconds. Was defiantly scary, but thankfully it wasn't a strong one. We don't get earthquakes on the east coast so that is very alarming to us.
We're having severe droughts in Texas.
Nothing to do with the quake, but then again the quake has nothing to do with FFXIV. Still, I hope for y'all's safety.
It was the impact of a bunch of FFXIV QQers petitioning for ezmode that gathered together on the east coast
Jersey here, closer to Philadelphia. Felt it here, the entire sturdy three-story I'm in here building shook for about 15 seconds. No damage or anything like that though apparently phone service is a little lacking at the moment.
id like to apologize for this
last night was burrito night
I live in NY. Didn't feel the quake, but we had a small one earlier this year. It was the first one I had ever felt. In regards to the comments about crazy weather this year, I totally agree. We've had two small tornadoes just in our area this summer. We NEVER have tornadoes. We also had record breaking heat a few times. We also had a really bad winter last year. Crazy weather all around the globe, recently.
Little rumbling here in NYC, some people freaked out, but nothing major, all is good.
You would have never guessed with the amount of miquotes running around there were more doods playing this game than chicks >.>; *hints at the burrito statement* That so has guy written all over that XD
OMG! ><: ya'll are so sick! ><: lOL
i didn't think this would make it on here lol
i live about 20 miles from where it happened.... crazy crazy stuff..... still reading the news to see whats happening out there
I live in the east coast but FL -.- i know this is mess up but i'm sad i did not get to feel it. I never felt a earthquake even tho i know how much dmg it can do but still find it cool to at least feel one in my life time ;; but it's scary just thinking about it.
i hope no one is hurt by it.
I felt it in Central PA, I thought something hit the building but it shook for like 10 seconds.
so far so good..... thought it was just some army helicopters at first as they are always flying over..... but it got worst and worst.... must of lasted about a min
reading the news it was a 5.9 a few miles from our major nuclear power plant.... they shut that down and word is its ok
i've been here for 21 years and thats the worst one ever..... its very very very rare for us to even get one that you notice
Anyway, yes... earthquake on east coast is rare. Last week the Baltimore, VA, DC, DE region got bad thunderstorms back to back for about 5 days. These would produce every 1-3 hours and the storms were unusually close to the ground. So much that when lightning struck near the front of my house, basically in my yard, my living room glass table shattered from the rumbling. Then there was a hit on my awning after right outside the window, but that thankfully didn't damage much.
Will the other half our government believe that climate change is real now? The earthquake, of course, probably is and will prove to be something that was already brewing for some time, but generally the weather has been off by a lot in most areas in the world this year.
i have to say probably the strangest feeling ever..... i ran outside to see what was up cause that was just strange thought something was going on outside....
but standing there with the ground shaking makes you kind of strange feeling..... normally they are short and not so powerful so they don't last long, that one was just kind of shocking..... unnerving as i stood outside trying to grasp what was happening
but yeah all seems ok reports of minimal dmg if any real dmg..... i think some walls fell in the city, but half of richmond is a historic district so a lot of old buildings
Let's see, in 39 years I have now felt 2 EQs this one and one back in the late 70s early 80s in MD. I know there was one last year around the Potomac but nvr felt it and slept through one in San Diego while in the Navy. Only reason I knew about THAT one was because my wife at the time, her family called worried and so did mine. I was more pissed they woke me up! LOL
Glad you all are ok down there Cascade! :)
Tornadoes are rare where i live the last tornadoes was mails away and only last for a few sec and did not even do that much dmg. now if we talking about hurricanes katrina hit us in FL and i was outside seeing stuff falling from the sky and tree so it was not as bad.
and most of the tornadoes that do happen are made by hurricanes that hit FL.
it's good your don't get noting :) living 2week up to 1month without power and noting open to get food is a bi**. All you hoping is the gov to come by and give us ice/food and the only ice we got was from some guy who was running for our city gov lol.
my linkshell and myself work in Ruckersville, VA which is about 30ish miles from where the quake hit, the whole building was shaking. I will agree that it is rare and insane. As far as I know everyone here in VA is a little shaken up but otherwise fine.
Felt it here in DE.. (waits for the Aftershock)
We were making Satan angry, so he took his broomstick and hit the ceiling with it..
Satan's jealous because he has taxes...
This is preposterous! I left Cali to get away from the earthquakes.
