How I feel when I play Slaughter Mode as a healer...

I don't mind solo healing sometimes, it's not too bad when you've got 5/6 range dps and 1/2 melle, it kinda keeps you on your toes.
But when you're solo healing with Sasuke-UchEha9Xx & loldrglol the melle players on your team, it gets kind of stressful.

Don't mind losing...
But don't flame the healers... Especially WHM's. They don't get the insta-heal Lustrate cluch saves, and I've seen all classes die within 3-5seconds or taking their first point of damage.

If you're alone on an enemy walkway/stairs, you're on your own.

Thanks for posting that. A good healer in FL can make or break a team, but it's such an underappreciated role. The times I go SCH in Frontlines I just tell them up front that I'm not going to be able to chase single players off into the crowd to heal anyone so to stay in range or retreat back into healing range when needed.

Also running as healer means having no free hands to type and so I'll usually ask up front if someone can take the lead with calling out where we're going as a party and if we're staying mid vs side objectives. Not that anyone ever responds.

A M E N!!!!!!!!!!! This is EXACTLY how I feel in Slaughter Mode. Even the best whms can't do every damn thing, especially if they have people YOLOSWAGZERGing all over the goddamn map *away* from them. Sorry for the language but this thread hit home so much lol. Stay strong my Healer brethren, we can only hope for change.

Yeah, I never do that. Healers are at a premium and they can get focused -hard-. One healer is not enough for any frontlines.

Yup, sometimes I just give up entirely on the melee (and sometimes even tanks) that get an absolute tardface-mode on and rush in the middle of an enemy horde alone and die in a couple of seconds. It's especially "fun" healing people run in circles the middle of 6-10 enemies, seeing their HP go down cause your heals don't do anything. Luckily, I haven't been flamed a single time by any of these suicidal tools.

Oh, and I'm eagerly waiting for melees and tanks to start replying here how they can't do anything if they don't get up and close and get gangbanged.

Hey, I run into the crowd to attract fire and waste enemy cooldowns as a Tank. I also happen to be there when they over-extend themselves to snipe own a mage.

I'm also on the objectives like white on rice.

All those situations need heals. Kind of the Tank's job to 'seeem' reckless to draw fire. Most the time I have my hand hovering over Hallowed Ground.

The op made me LOL. Because thats exactly what happens. All of the problems stem from a lack of coordination and a unrealistic perspective of dps class functions. I believe most melee dps believe they will be able to survive like tanks when they run into a zerg lol. At the same time though, healers shouldn't expect melee to camp around them.

Sorry to melle classes in advance, haha.

Tanks and Melle DPS are essential for Frontlines, don't get me wrong!
Without the tanks baiting, interrupting teams and mitigating Cometeors for us, we'd be ruined.
Without melle DPS the enemy Bard would be on a Battle-High rampage!

All I'm really complaining about is the lack of respect players can give to one another when faced with unreasonable circumstances.

Like I said, I'm happy to lose for the sake of new players learning how to be a good PVP Dragoon, but just don't QQ at me when you die. :)

The only real solution is don't play melee unless you plan on going on solo missions to an OP to get kills. It clearly and unmistakenly disadvantaged in slaughter. Its nothing but a burden to the team 75% of the time.

XD rip healers, at least in secure u had an idea of "where" to go rather than just being solo ninja half the game.

This is why I refuse to play frontlines even though I could make a kings ransom just desythnsising tons of pvp gear for expensive craft mats, its just not fun for healers and we can't do anything with the amount of burst damage.

At least on old frontlines (which no body does anymore) you had tactics, everyone stood at the flags and didn't run into a huge group of enemy's so it was simpler to heal even with interrupts and its not like we didn't have responsibility because usually if the healer(s) died, the group in a flag battle would usually follow.

I've seen tank's health going up and down like someone was playing 'ping-pong' with it, you can barely keep them alive for some time with Adloquium and Lustrates, solo healing as a SCH is impossible when the enemy team knows how to focus people either... I told my team at the beginning you need at least a 2nd healer but no one wants to switch, so they all died. :D

I don't see any complaints about lack of heals. But what the hell. I can ninja maybe 2 kills a match if i am lucky. That means only 2,500 matches till i get achievement. There is no bonus besides doing a good job.

Knocking down count as kill too. Healers should knock players as much possible. And it is way more effective than normal kills too cause nobody is gonna instantly ress those players that are knocked down. WHM can knock every 30 sec and scholar every 2min aoe. But be carefully since tanks have knockback too + bard + summoners garuda.

I am a BRD most of the time but I can play a bad back up healer. (I spam Stoneskin and medica 2 it a not bad way of living though a BLM LB storm.) So I get what you are saying.

This is the only thing that is still fun.
But we are so stressed with healing, its impoosible to do this effectively.

You do realize that the objectives are the largest point source in any game and that the objective credit is given to the team that produced the most damage, right?

Let's ignore the assassination component of melee to enemy teams for a moment. Melee DPS are powerful tools for objective control, ignoring all other factors they actually benefit from. Calling them a liability isn't accurate.

Well this makes me twitchy sometimes when I, as SCH, the only healer, with 3 tank and 4 melee. And in this condition what I do is just let them die slowly and painful, cuz they don't even know how much should I suffer to wait Aetherflow cd, my finite MP, and limit lustrate.

It is really one of those situations where it feels like every melee dps/tank thinks I'm their personal healer retainer that will follow them into battle at any cost. I'm sorry but if healing you requires go past the halfway point between my huddle and the enemies huddle your going to die over there. It's especially annoying because as healers we are programmed to feel bad for not healing/ letting people die but there is really only so many places i can heal at once. It is also not mathematically possible for 1 or even 2 healers to keep a player alive in that situation, you'll go down in the 1.9 seconds it takes to cast a heal we just can't possibly keep up unless you have a team of 4 sch just spamming lustrates on you. What I would honestly prefer is "going into cuddle buff plz" so I could at least stoneskin and adloq you. It won't help much but at least it's some kind of buffer

Oh man this happened to me the other night. I told the ninja if he had a problem to heal with me, and then complain afterwords and he switched to scholar.

He apologized after we lost. :)

It's not that stressful for me, I put a giant triangle above my head and tell everyone if you're not in range you're not my problem. Everyone seems to accept that I'm not chasing them so if they die it's their own fault. I've only ever had 1 bad experience with a dragoon since playing.

Healers Can't do Miracles, DPS (Especially melee) have to be smart or there ain't no Cure/Adloquium/Lustrate/Benediction, that can save you.
You gotta stick together and mind about your own HP.

When I tab through the party list to try and target a dead player and can't because they're out of range... that's usually why they're dead. And running into a group of melee players on the other team to get into range to cast a raise is usually not a good strategy. A good way to look at it is if you're dead and can't tag target your healer, they can't do the same to res you so might as well port back to the base.

I've started Frontlines on my Maelstrom alt (no one else knows who they are, I'd like people to form an opinion of how I play based on firsthand experiences only) and so far I've been getting lots of commendations every match as SCH. Part of that though could be from getting all these new player type achievements while keeping the team up for a win.

As a WHM, I find that the game devolves into spamming Esuna more than anything else. Even then, I can't Esuna from across the entire map, so if someone's going to run off, that's their own fault.
