As you can see, this hideously undeserving lalafell successfully caught a Shonisaurus.

Then, in his excitement, as his kinds are prone to, pressed RELEASE instead of putting the rod away.

He waited for that window for 2 weeks.

He is, indeed, the stupidest lalafell alive.

The release button on the screenshot is put away from the put away in his shame. It was located RIGHT ABOVE THE BLOODY THING in the beginning.

Not that it really matters now, but there is no need to click put rod away, just simply walk away it does it automatically. Just one less click and possible oops to worry about.

I think kuno needs way more rng than shoni

shoni is just getting a HQ mahar and thats it (except the fish escapes)

People's experiences may differ, of course. I caught Kuno fairly quickly (on my third serious attempt at trying to catch him). Gloom weather is extremely common in Mor Dhona - there's a high probability that Gloom will line up with Canavan's time-of-day requirements many, many times over the course of a real-life day. The Clear/Fair -> Blizzard requirement on Mahar? It's far from uncommon for this to crop up only once in a real-life day, and often not at all.

As for mooch bait, Silverfish seem to bite the bait WAY more often than the two other fish that will go for it (Lamp Marimo and Giant Bass). Cloud Cutters, on the other hand, don't seem to bite much more often than any of the other three Skyfish you can catch. Additionally, Mahar may well be the only mooch fish with a significant chance to slip the line.

I've made numerous attempts to catch Shion, now. I generally see less than five HQ Cloud Cutters during a Blizzard period, and of those I'll maybe hook one or two Mahar, either or both of which may fight free of the line, and either or both of which will likely be NQ even if I do reel it in. Exactly once have I successfully caught an HQ Mahar and mooched with it - the resulting Shionosaurus fought free. /sigh

Still, even that was a bit uplifting, and gave me hope that I will someday finish my fish log! (Shion's the last fish I need.)

Most difficult would go to kuno IMO need gloom weather need a double mooch for buff then a different double mooch for kuno all in a 3 game hour window

I agree with Kuno being the hardest (at least for me). There is also accidently aggro when people passing by pre-patch.

Had a Clear/Fair -> Blizzard window yesterday! Was my first in five days. Caught three HQ Cloud Cutters during that time. Three. None mooched to a Mahar, not even a NQ Mahar. :x

Was reading big fish and you thread where it list kuno as any time. Cat has itat 9a-12p can anyone confirm that it's anytime or is that a misprint?

Yeah that's what cat shows for canavan. The decrepincey is on Kuno the killer. One shows any time one shows 9a-12p (3 game hours)

Ignore all my previous post. Either I looked at wrong fish or cat changed info. Kuno showing 9a-9p any weather. My preceding post have been deemed invalid.

Kuno was much harder for me to catch that Shoni, however gloom weather at the required time is up much much MUCH more often than Shoni's weather combo.
