Opening Trade: new form of random trolling.

This has become a huge hit on my server recently. Random players opening trade with players with the intent to interrupt gameplay.

Just now, as i tried teleporting out of mor dhona some random ran up to me and opened trade, interrupted my teleporting. I walk away a few steps. does it again. They continued to follow me. Why would someone do this? because some people love having fun at the expense of others.

Similar less disruptive occurrences has happened in the past, this most recent one warrants a feature to block trades, or put more restrictions on opening trade windows.

Its not new. Just report and move on.

The same thing happened to Yoshi P himself. I was invited to a wedding and all the people at Ultros (?) were trade spamming him. He missed the wedding.

This happened months ago and I am surprised that they haven't made any plans to to prevent this.

They have, i am sure of it, but as we see on hotfixes they need about 2 patches untill "changes" can be implemented. In Q&A they oftn explained that with the delay they can make sure it will work properly!

It counts as harassment, so you can report people for doing it.
It's not new. My FCmate did it to tease me a while back. We basically ended up playing a game of hide and seek.

since its not a new form of harassment, se........maybe its time to add an option to "block trades" and have some form of prevention at least.

that's not asking too much ...should be standard.

It is not the best solution as im sure ppl don't want to have to rechoose the option every time they DO want to trade but its better then ignoring the issue exists.

QoL changes are sometimes the most important things a game can add...we need many of them still.

If someone does it just do a /busy then teleport out. Problem solved in 5 seconds. I agree it shouldn't disrupt teleporting but for now /busy is a very fast and effective solution and you can just take the busy off after you've finished teleporting.

If you were banned from trading with someone for 5 minutes after he declined it would be solved. OFC it would annoy people who declined by mistake but things like that just happen.

Far too often I have to decline a trade to make room for it in my bags...
Why not just make an option wherein you have to confirm the trade first?

It will pop up like an invite, you accept (or even just left-click on the notice to accept, right-click to decline), and proceed to trade. You can have two notices at a time, one for the first person requesting a trade, and the other for the most recent request besides the first person. A person cannot request a trade again until their prior trade has first been declined, or the two people have moved out of trading range, thereby auto-declining (extend trade range to say... 9 meters, which should be just enough time to prevent the person from sprinting in and out to constantly refresh the trade).

As someone said /busy - port out unbusy. And if it's a FC memeber or a friend I'll laugh it off the first time, get annoyed at them second time and chew them out for it the third time.

I don't think a ban on trade is needed. Treat it like a loot chest you didn't open yourself. Put a tab letting you know someone is initiating a trade that isn't going to interrupt anything and open it only if you click on it. Simple

its real fun to block these suckers and watch em try to figure out why they cant do it anymore
