Please can we get a free phial of fantasia when the expansion comes out?

Like an account wide single phial of fantasia to the people who subscribed a month before the release.

SE is gonna make too much money on people switching to Au Ra...and with some eventually who switch back. So not likely.

I already bought one in preparation so I'd kinda hope not.

Well, SE did give 1.0 players a bottle so they could change into the new genders if they wanted, but this was before the cash shop.

They already gave us a free fantasia, then you get a free one from the Vet rewards, plus if you were 1.0 you got a free one. Right now, I have 4 free potions I have not used. Why havent I used them? Because I knew there was going to be a new race and I wanted to try it out.

Could they have plans to give us one? Maybe, it might be a nice idea, but just one. that way if you dont like it, then you have to pay to change back. That might be a smart move. Either way, when all is said and done with, I will probably have, at the least, 2 free potions left.

1.0 players had the chance to change their old characters 3 times.

1st time was during open beta, where we could change everything during the first login. Not only the appearance, but also the name, the starter class, the deity and the birth date.

2nd time was with the Fantasia from the 1st month veteran reward

3rd time was what you mean, where 1.x accounts got a extra free Fantasia for each character. But it was because there were some problems during the first time, not because of new gender.


I think SE can put another free Fantasia into the 2nd year veteran reward ^^

I'm going to create a Au Ra first to play waround with the character creation options for them. Then if I find a design I like more than my Miqo alt I'll fantasia, over. Also will check the animations first.

Yeah, this was what I was going to do. Make an alt and play around with the animations, make sure I like it before I change my main. I don't want to use up a fantasia because OMG SHINY NEW and then discover I hate it.

that was a totally different story though. Players sticking to the game despise an obvious utter failure, etc etc...

They won't do that because it's going to be a huge money maker.

If I were them, I would include one as a pre-order bonus or early adopter bonus.
I think they kinda have to do SOMETHING on that front, because since a lot of players only have one character slot per server, it would mean they'd have to pay an extra $10 to access content they already paid ~$50-60+ to access. This means the content is effectively gated behind 3 paywalls for pre-existing players: You gotta pay for the expansion, and you either have to be paying for the extra character slots by paying for the "full" sub, or pay for a fantasia.
The only players actually unaffected are those that hung on to their fantasias from earlier. And the longer you've played, the less statistically likely you are to have kept even one of the fantasias.
Thus, from a technical standpoint, NOT giving us a free fantasia for buying the expansion alienates veteran players who have stuck with the game until then.

I still have my phantasia from the veteran rewards. I used the the other one to be a catboy, though.

I still have mine, been here since 1.0 (for the most part). I'm sure they'll add a fantasia (or something similar) to the mix for it, it'd be a little unusual if they didn't, considering the pointless benefits and struggles extra characters technically provide for most of us. If they decide not to though, that doesn't "alienate" anyone. In fact, I'd say the vast majority of players either don't care to change their current race or are only interested in treading water with it before they decide to change back to the original or something else. Most that are looking for the permanent switch would fork over the fantasia money to do it without complaint (keyword being "most").

The argument is typically best when you don't try to guilt-trip blindly. For example, you shouldn't accuse them of potentially alienating players. You're playing the victim, when one doesn't exist. Instead, you should be questioning their expectations as to how many people they expect to be this race. If their expectations are very low, then why are they really even wasting much development time with it. If they expect it to be very popular, then assuming they don't give out a free fantasia or change service, you question their decision and practice (such as to simply milk money from players in a sub game, etc).

Truth be told though, I'm thinking they will offer such a thing for expansion users (possibly with some sort of small print, like needing to have an existing sub from X date).

I bought 2 fantasia a while back and forgot that i had a second one in the mail due to my mail reaching max limit. So i didn't get the " u got mail" icon till one day i decided to do some spring cleaning in my retainers and mailbox lol. After i made some space i shortly received a mail containing my 2nd fantasia XD.
I was like yissssssss now i can save this for au ra.
Tired of being a mi'qote and hell no am i ever becoming a lala again XD. Elezen was fun and hyur was ok cuz i felt "safe" being a human race for playin my first mmo. Roe idk maybe...

But Hopefully they do give ppl some fantasia to promote the new au ra race or something lol or at least make a discount for 1 vial for the 1st week if expac release.

They could just include a new fantasia with the collector's edition too, they'd sell more of those then for people thatcare planning to swap anyway.

I bought a Fantasia phial for my Behemoth character (in addition to a name change) as I no longer have the one I received from my veteran's rewards*. This is in preparation to see if I like the Au Ra females, since I have zero expectation of being provided with a second free phial. If I don't like how they turn out, then my Hyur becomes a Miqo'te.

*I had unintentionally used my free phial a couple of years ago. I wasn't planning on confirming any changes I had made, but I was disconnected during the process and all changes that I had made were "confirmed". I didn't sweat it much as I had intended to delete the character and start anew (she was below level 10 at the time), but with Behemoth becoming nigh perpetually closed, and I was starting to play the character more, I couldn't bring myself to delete the character. Especially now that she's level 50 in Monk & Dragoon, 40-something in Ninja, 20-something in Conjurer and around 15 for all the other classes, I just don't have the heart to delete her. So, with a $20 pre-paid debit card, I bought a Fantasia and a name change for Heavensward.

Don't think I'm going to go for Au Ra either.

Though I have tons of Retainer Fantasia >_> I'll probably play with that first

If anything, there will probably be a Phial included as part of the collectors edition. That way SE will make money off of it no matter what.

Why not just buy Fantasia?

Eh, they might just put them on sale for a little while.

They would be pretty stupid to do that. Hey, u got now till expansion to save up! save 1 penny/cent/w/e a day and it's yours!
