Would you pay for extra retainers/more inventory if given the option?

If SE gave you the option of purchasing up to 6 more retainers at $3.00 per month each, would you purchase any and if so how much?

Assume you are only allowed to have 2 retainers up in the wards at one time. (that avoids the connectivity problems and filling up of wards)

Personally i would purchase all 6. I know its a lot of money per month but I level every craft and would love to have retainers dedicated to specific items or crafts.

Do you think it would be a good idea for SE to do this? People can still make free chars for now. But this would kinda be like saying "you can purchase a bit of convenience if you want and support us in the process" and maybe it would get SE to invest a few more ppl to the dev team since they'd be making -some- money.

I would definitely pay!

Probably starting with one more retainer for now, but eventually needing a few more just for storing crafting materials and all of these unique and untradable items that we are getting from NMs and events.

I won't even pay for the game right now, so no, but I hope I can say I would subscribe in a year.

Even Blizzard had to backtrack on its microtransations with its "Real Party ID" because of the negative feedback from the potential charges. How do you expect Square to manage that after FFXIV's launch? They can't, and if they do it would just be another misguided step on the path to losing even more of the players' trust.

Maybe not all 6, but I would definitely get 1 and possibly a second as soon as possible. Where do I sign?

I would pay one dollar per retainer max, mailed by check to a secure facility.

I would pay a one time fee of $3 per retainer. Nothing more I'm afraid.

I would as well, but only if those retainers could all be placed in the wards. I don't have issues with inventory space, the extra retainers would be for nothing more than extra sales slots. Also, Kibbles is correct. The original plan was $1 per extra retainer, $3 per extra character.

I'd buy them as needed, yes... Right off the bat I'd probably only get 2 or 3, but I'm sure I'd work my way up to the max amount eventually.

Muling right now sucks really bad, because there's no mailbox, there's lag on the inventory screen, and well, there's no mailbox... Plus with events that give you like 10 rare/ex swimsuits, yeah... Gonna need a bigger boat ASAP.

It'd be crippling even now, but just imagine after the game relaunches and gets a bunch more people playing. It'd just be stupid. It's already over crowded with 2 retainers per person and a limited total population.

I'd pay for an AH thankyouverymuch. Managing one retainer is already too much trouble to ever be worth it. Having that doubled AND to pay money for it is ridiculous.

I would not pay for extra retainers YET now if the game gets good enough to pay a subscription for, maybe id purchase an extra retainer or two.

The concept of paying for extra retainers is already implemented in the game's payment and account system.

Downside is that we can't USE it yet since we aren't paying...

Remember when they gave us the 2nd retainer? That was a response along the lines of "Oh bugga they can't actually order them yet can they... let's do a patch-job!"

Once the games gets to the point where people can pay for it then the original design is enough imo.
But i think a lot of it depends what they intend to do around housing/storage/Market wards/AH an such so, guess we will have to see what they plan really.

Personally I would like to see a 3rd retainer added as a temp measure until we get player housing, then have 3rd retainer removed and the items placed into the house.
Though a limit on no more then 2 retainers at work in any one city needs adding along with that for now lol.

Right now you can have up to like 8 characters for free, which is pretty epic lol.

I'd pay $1 or $2 per retainer. I'd buy no more than 2 extra (for a total of 4 retainers)

one thing to take into consideration is...since the game is free atm. ppl are making more characters JUST to put more retainers in the wards. i bet the wards are going to get REAL empty once they start charging as people delete mules, or remove retainers...etc.

I'm still gonna be stubborn as to whether I'm ever gonna pay monthly for the game, but if I did...and perhaps the overload of retainers calms down(with people quitting or at least killing off some of their extra characters/retainers)...then maybe. But I'd like to hear about player/linkshell housing & storage options for those first.

well by the payment that had been announced at 3$ for extra char's and 1$ per mule i already have my funds allotted for me to keep my extra char and getting 3-4 extra retainers for my main. by the time the game starts charging i will have most, if not all, classes to cap so i will be mostly concentrating on the markets.
