Quality of life improvements I'd love to see

I'm a relatively new player who has played a lot(too many) MMOs, and while I'm finally starting to enjoy FFXIV now that dungeons have actual mechanics(at around level 35), there are some small things that drive me insane that I'd love to see implemented:

1) Don't dismount me when I talk to an NPC
2) Button to repair all in inventory and armoury
3) Button to dump all crafting mats on retainer
4) Either give me a speed boost in cities or let me mount
5) Allow quick item comparison from armoury(shift or alt key?) And show the stat differences.

These minor changes would just make the game flow better, and I'm sure a lot of people would agree that we need them.

I want the ability to rearrange my character list at the character selection screen. Right now they're in order of date created, but I'd rather sort them by my own standards such as Total classes leveled, Class, Nation, Clan, Race, and Gender.

All I want to be able to do is to be able to customize the position of my friends on the friends list with more freedom :(

TBH some of these are much needed QoL improvments.

Personally I agree with point 2 and 5.

As for point 1- While talking to NPC your character also "acts" (usually doing some emotes like handing over or noding) not only the NPC, I think that's why they dismount you...

As for point 4- We have a teleport to every part of the city, I don't see a reason to increase movement speed (except the massive amount of loading screens ( > . >

Can you explain how you mount in cities?

What is the button I can hold to do a quick comparison of items while looking at my armoury?

Doesn't repair all only repair gear you're wearing?

While I do agree it's annoying lol, I think that's on purpose, to make the others wait less they just disable any activity so your only choice is to accept... (or withdraw lol) Instead of keep to mind your own business until the last second...

Uhh just level a class like monk or bard who has movement speed increase abilities that don't fade. I don't really know if I want mounts running through the major cities it'll just ruin my game immersion as it feels kinda... wrong like you're charging through a bustling city in a horse like that and I feel like a guard would tell you to GTFO.

You actually get swiftsong at level 22 it doesn't take that long.

I would like to see the repair all in inventory and armory though since I play bard, monk, paladin, white mage, black mage and switch between them frequently so my gear is kinda annoying to repair.

Between sprint and the teleports nearly every corner of the cities, I really don't see why we'd need mounts cluttering the streets.

Scholars/Summoners need a visual on how many Aetherflow stacks they have just like BLM. Half the time I'm like, "Why is my skill grayed out?"

True no repair all function but if you have all the crafting classes up you can execute the repair action and it will give you the same dialog as the NPC and you can go through the categories.

You are aware that some gear is crafting mats as well(not a lot but there are pieces that are needed to craft others).

You don't need a speed boost with sprint - which lasts just a bit under what the TP regen and the CD is. Or yes nin, bard or mnk all have speed ups(nin inherint, mnk as a stance and bard as a song).

Right click -> item comparison - though it compares your current worn gear with the item you are comparing - true doesn't show the stat differences but tbh really you can't just see the data and go ahh this has this and that has that. Hint your main stat is really what you are looking at and a couple of substats and for a same ilvl item the main stat and vit stat will be the same for the same type of gear - only the sebstats change.

I think it's just bad coding.
If you are on your retainer you need to cancel out all the menus just to click commence, making it take a longer time.

You should learn keeping an eye at it as it can be important in some fights to see what debuffs you have. Like in WoD first boss, or the heat debuff from 2nd.
I have moved mine just above my hotbars and made them bigger so I can see them easily

And from a practical perspective, there are emotes and such your character does while in dialogue that they can't do while mounted.

It should be the FIRST place. Keeping an eye on your buffs and debuffs is so essential to doing anything in this game that I actually moved my bar and increased the size so I could see it better.

I take quick glances at mines but my priority is the party. I look at party list more than my actual bar. I've done so many things that it overall feels out of place. You can make this same argument with BLM but they have a visual. Aetherflow icon just isn't as defining as the others.
